Mind's Desire: Interesting choice...but seems excessive. Has it played out well for you?
The main reason Mana Crypt + Sol Ring have remained in the deck are Mind's Desire + Tidespout Tyrant. I also agree on all the creatures you suggested, they are all slow and clunky, so is Solemn. I haven't formed an opinion on Green Sun's yet.
This is my first real shot at a commander deck. I have been interested in the format for awhile, but I haven't been able to find the right general. I finally found that in Animar. After browsing the forums I found gelf's 1v1 list for Animar and decided to tweak it for multiplayer.
The deck is very similar to gelf's list, but to make it more resilient. I'm not sure if this list is yet, but it's definitely a blast to play.
The cards that I have on the chopping block are:
Genesis - I haven't had too many situations where this card shined.
Capsize - It's only been a "win more" card.
Mimic Vat - Fun, but is often un-needed.
Sol Ring/Mana Crypt - They are often dead cards.
Fauna Shaman - I want more CIP triggers, Fauna Shaman doesn't do that.
Artisan of Kozilek - He's the worst "fatty" in the deck.
Yeah the draw 7's seem like auto-includes as well. I got the idea for the deck when I was playing Group Hug with some friends, one guy dropped a halls, and I had a crazy turn with draw 7's and making everyone drop their hands with a Tempting Wurm (when people had 20+ cards in their hands). So, right now, I'm going with all the good draw 7's (Wheel, Diminishing Returns, Windfall, Time Spiral, Twister, and Memory Jar), the best recursion spells (Regrowth, All Suns' Dawn, and Recollect), Tutors for Dream Halls, and some fun expensive spells.
Conflux is one of the other reasons I want to make the deck, for things you said. A turn like that sounds ridiculous and fun. That's what I'm looking for.
Conflux, Show and Tell, All Suns' Dawn, Yawgmoth's Will, Pact of Negation, and Force of Will all sound like auto includes.
Oh, btw, this deck's main focus will be group games.
I've been trying to put together a Dream Halls EDH deck. I'm thinking a 5 color deck is the best way to go with the broken gold cards, all the tutors, and every card is available.
Anyone else have any ideas on what kind of ridiculous expensive cards I can play?
I just got Guild wars and defintally willing to play with anyone. MSG me to talk with me, maybe we can start a guild or you can join the one im in now.
Well, we should get back on topic, seriously... we don't need to talk about half of this.
I played this in my local turny yesterday, and i got top 4... it was kindda lame. I shoulda beat ponza but i drew 4 land in a row =/ and then 2 useless cards at the time. I also lost to a BG meta-game'd deck... and only reason i lost here was i had 40 cards left and i had 21 diff cards to draw within 4/5 turns and i never drew a single one....
My MbC constantly beats this build, I went 2-0 in my last FnM against this 3 times. (it has bcome increasingly popular.) I have also been beating MuC on a regular basis.
P.S. MaRo, you haven't been returning my Emails. :disgust4: Come on man, where's the love?
Squigles, this has no help for us. We are not talking about MBC here. Also not to many people play MBC because it isn't very good and it wouldnt be a problem for this deck then.
Well GL mark, i will be playing it for FNM today, maybe i can win or maybe not... but hey... i guess i will have fun either way.
I really do not mean to come across insulting, but this seems to me like a cross-breed between MUC and MGA. I can see how it would win as it does use Trolls, but that does not mean it is great or anything. I seriously think you would be better off choosing one color or the other or go with u/g control.
Anyway, I will go ahead and try it out when I get MWS up and running just so I don't have to eat my words.
POST #500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well surprsing but this deck is very consitent and good. It is a really fun deck and it runs simply amazing. So by no means is it a bad deck or should just change to a MUC or MGB its a good deck and it only has one real bad match-up wich is Tooth.
