This card with Slumbering Dragon? THAT would be awesome. Here is to hoping for a reprint.

"Bound by hell-forged chains and fate-haunted circumstance. Well, then--let it be thus so--and men will have cause to tremble and flee when they hear the names of Elric of Melinbone and Stormbringer, his sword. We are two of a kind--produced by an age which has deserted us. Let us give this age cause to hate us!”
I run jund charm maindeck and fallouts in side. And as far as artifact hate putrefy as a 3-1. I'd probably throw this in the side for redundancy against tempered steel/splinter twin/reanimator. Its so damn flexible I can find something to get rid of.

I'd rather run a Bloodgift Demon or Griselbrand in a finisher spot: card advantage would benefit a control deck far more than an efficient beater with a drawback.
I dunno. If you are running 8 shocklands alongside either of those, it seems pretty risky. The nice thing is Desecration Demon helps you maintain board control OR it hits harder and/or earlier than either of those two.

Yeaaaaah, I want 3 for my future Grixis Control Deck I have planned for Gatecrash.
If you run a mitt of removal like Mutilate, Mizzium Mortars, Izzet Signet, Dreadbore, etc and this guy? No creatures? 6/6 for 4. Creatures? Not for long.
You kill it? Nicol Bolas.

This seems bonkers in a R/B deck. Your playing hastey threats and removal which means combat math is all over the place, they are losing creatures anyways, and you want to keep you curve low to have mana open for removal.
This might push Rakdos over the edge competitively especially if we get more aggressive R/B humans to pitch to Aristocrat.

I love Slitherhead. The potential damage this guy can put through is good for a 1CC creature and you don't feel bad for dumping him in the grave with Grisly Salvage or LOLTROLL like you would with most creatures.
The thing is that he isn't just good in the graveyard, but a decent first turn play as well, especially if you don't have a gravecrawler in hand and are running rancor.

You are playing a weenie deck. You run BoP, Avacyn's Pilgrim, and Arbor Elf.
Titans are gone. You need a win-con. What decent 6 mana card synergizes with your whole deck and can be ramped into easily?
This card.
Think of it like a titan. Because this takes 3 mana dorks and kills you with them. This takes the 4/4 elephant for 3 and shoves him down your throat. Besides, you are in green. Trample comes easy with Rancor and the new G/W Charm.

I plan on running it as Accel into Nicol Bolas come Gatecrash. I need my Swamp/Islands first. Grixis Control is looking pretty damn good pretty soon here though. Mizzium Mortars, Mutilate, Dreadbore, Syncopate...

Kills O-Ring, kills little Liliana, kills EVERY GOOD AGGRO CREATURE in existence. Its a damn good card for both Aggro vs Aggro match ups as well as an amazing control/midrange piece of flexible removal.

We have an uncounterable neo-Smother...only good for killing early threats. We have 2 amazing sweepers in mutilate and the uncounterable wrath. Counters being unusable hurts Fish-style decks like Faeries and Delver way more than Control ESPECIALLY in an aggro heavy meta where removal does the same job 9/10 times.
HELL! Black now has an answer outside of discard to remove planeswalkers! Dreadbore.
Control is back baby. About freaking time. I'm so sick of pretenders like Cawblade and Delver.
A single bad play doesn't affect aggro nearly as muhc as a single bad play from control. If you misplay one thing, you can easily lose the game.
You mess up your curve playing aggro, it is JUST as bad as a misplay for control. Can't keep up the pressure? You lose.

Anybody else hoping for a Vulturous Zombie reprint this set or last set? With this guy, gravecrawler, LOLTroll, and Grisly Scavenge he would be amazing.

And yo everyone complaining about it not being blue, it is. Red get uncounterable because it hates losing freedom. Blue gets uncounterable because it likes to order and oppress. Green gets uncounterable CREATURES because it likes to grow out of constraints. For the Vorthos out there.

Since Scavenge only checks for power, you could drop Rancor on it, Making it a 3/1 trample.
Get it killed in combat, you get rancor back, and put +3/+3 on something else
For just 2 mana, that's not a bad little combo to have around... bring Rancor back, and you get to place +5/+3 Trample on any creature.
It checks for power in the grave, where it no longer is attached to Rancor.

sadly, the convserving guild selesnya have a 2/1 for 1 mana that can do damage race the hasty 2 mana from Rakdos which suppose to be the most aggressive guild.. kinda sad imo..
Common.........Uncommon. You will have more of these than they will have 2/1 for 1.
