I personally don't respect Mark Rosewater's opinion on much this included, but that is neither here nor there. Intuition isn't going to be the same for every player. I was saying that to me the way bannisher priest works isn't intuitive which essentially debunks the argument that something can be more or less intuitive in general as it's completely dependent on whomever you are asking, and thus redesigning a card there was nothing wrong with is time wasted by the development.
I disagree with how you believe something is intuitive. The way I always assumed cards worked at a face value would be that entering play would cause an ability to trigger and leaving play would cause an ability to trigger that's how I learned the stack worked and that's how I've assesed new cards. When I tried to chord of calling for an Angel in response to my banisher priest I was confused as to why it didn't permanently exile because that's not an intuitive stack mechanic.
What's intuitive is going to differ from player to player and in addition to that I believe it extremely hard to believe that they "didn't intend" for this interaction to be used by players when they blatantly printed cloud ***** and fiend slayer in the same block.
Has anyon seen the Bant Blade deck that Paul Lynch made top 4 at SCG open with? Would it be appropriate to discuss it within the context of this thread?
I've been playing a deck like that for a few months now. Live in NZ so no huge tournaments but regular play testing with friends/small tournaments.
Been looking for sideboard cards to be honest. Most of the meta around here is Jund and UWR delver, Jund game 1 isn't so bad loam and Garruk make it a whole lot better but wondering about some input maybe to improve this, I liked the guys deck from SCG but I didn't really want to be that all in on an artifact strategy and I'm used to play a Maverick deck so I made it from that kind of base.
Frank Lepore streams and I think does articles for Star City Games. He probably streams about as much and Paul does. Maybe more. He also dates Melissa Del Toro. I think he usually streams when she is in town.
Scott MacCallum I believe streams, looks like he writes, and I think use to be on the Eh Team podcast. Not sure if that podcast is still around. The reast of the people I am not sure of.
Mariah Pagliocco was hit by a car while walking recently. She is the daughter of a wizards employee. I know that there has been a lot of fund raising for her and her family by several MTG groups and people. To be honest I've never heard of her before the accident so not sure how involved she was. Yet being a family member of an employee and only 17 probably limited how much she could be involved.
Sean Plott - looks like he is a Star Craft Commentator. I am guessing he got in because he is popular in the gaming community and trying to bridge MtG to more people through him? Seems like he plays some and has played for a while but most likely at the level of any of us.
Tom Ross - Seems to be a pro tour player.
Björn Andreasson - Looks to be someone who started up a Sweedish group of players who stream magic regularly.
Dalibor Trnka - Seems to be a judge in Mexico.
Paul Cheon - Most people in this thread so far seem to know him already. Aspiring pro tour player. Pretty good personality but probably his biggest asset in the MTG world is being close friends with LSV. I do like his stream but I don't think he does it that often and usually has LSV in there to help get people to watch.

Ok so I think a point that's being missed isn't the fact white may have a lot of creature types but that the primary creature type for the past 4 blocks for white has been humans and it's hard to disagree with that considering what the blocks have been 3 were a humans v mosters block and 1 was ravnica which is humans all around. Avacyn was a chance to have a primary angel white base but still was pretty high on humans for white. The part i find actually depressing is that by the sounds of the next block white is going to be primarily humans once again and the latest designers at wotc just auto go to humans for white and then some sparse diversity but no non human white themes which is getting quite stale.
I love how the commentators (particularly Hagon) are trying to make it seem like it's actually good Magic when the entire finals revolve around simply who sticks Elspeth first, or who has the greater number of Elspeths. This entire Block format is warped around that one card. They banned Lingering Souls for that reason in Innistrad Block, but I guess Elspeth is too important to ban (she's the face, after all).
To be fair, that BUG Control list did pretty well without Elspeth. But overall, that Block Constructed format was incredibly boring compared to PT Dragon's Maze (the guilds were awesome and offered different tactics and lots of flavor) and it's obviously only a far, far cry from the sheer awesome that are the Modern Pro Tours.
To be fair you had 5-6 turns to thoughtseize it before they cast it. This had to be the most boring pro tour in recent memory. Block was always usually a grindy one but both RTR and ISD block draft pro tours were actually fairly entertaining so I guess we were due tedium in large quantities. I honestly think the entire pro tour would have been more entertaining if they just followed cifka with the stream so that you could watch someone not playing grindy midrange.dek.
So I don't know much about misscut/missprinted cards. I traded for an underground sea a while ago just because I needed another for legacy. Upon further inspection on the back of the card one side of the border is larger than the other side (i'm talking like twice as large). So considering the fact I don't know much about this does that count as a miss cut card?
Because it would kill modern, which they created as Legacy 2.0 that isn't constrained by the reserved list
That is a pretty poor excuse considering modern is supposed to be designed as a stand alone format that is unique in its design. Using this as an excuse would just be admitting its just a bad version of legacy.
To be fair any standard uncommon i have over my playset i give away to anyone who asks so I can completely see where he is coming from. I'm more suprised you'd actually keep charms in your folder. I generally dont keep anything worth less than $5 in mine as it generally causes people to dollars and cents you to try "even up" trades and that truly drives me mad.
I miss the old style foil cards with the wizards shooting star thing on the bottom over the new foiling system and yeah bring back the FNM stamps for the FNM promos.
