i thought about doing this too, but mostly using equipments and not running as many creatures - just buffing the dog and going for general damage. How has it worked out for you?
I think the fairest is lake of the dead or some version of it. It's got enough downsides so that first turn hyppies don't happen yet it's still very workable - I know it's on the no-reprint list but with a little tweaking, some form of it would be viable.
I like the idea of making it more of a creature ability - this makes them man-lands but in a much more symbiotic yet separate way.
eg.
Goblin Landscaper R
Goblin R, sacrifice ~: Search your library for a mountain put it into play tapped. R, sacrifice a mountain: Search your library for a goblin landscaper and put it into play.
1/1
It works the same for each colour- kor landscaper etc. - keeps a tribal thing going without being too broken and the costs are about right: 2 (1 to cast, 1 and sacrifice to search) for a specific land into play tapped, 1 and a mountain to find a specific goblin. You can hunt up exactly what you need, more goblins or more mountains.
Would make a great common.
I loved dryad arbor but it was waaay too easy to kill, and it swallowed up your land drop - good as it was it was never going to beat out Llanowar elf.
Q: If I use Glamerdye to change the text on Great Sable Stag as a spell so it has protection from red instead of black, can I Doom Blade it now?
A: This is another situation that falls under the above caveat that stack-to-battlefield is the same object, one handled by CR 400.7a. Effects that change the characteristics of permanent spells carry over to the resulting permanent as well.
Ummm, surely Glammerdye can't target a Great Sable Stag anyway?
Glammerdye is a blue instant...
i like the fact that it has the versatility for a use as a tutor, i think it's well balanced, is pretty original and would also be good in a multiplayer game. kudos.
Simic Snidd 4GU

Legendary Creature - Dragon
Flying, Convoke.
When Conclave Dragon comes into play put a 1/1 Saproling token into play for each untapped creature you control. Often mistaken for forest canopy, Nayless allowed the Conclave to gain power within his domain.
9/9
I wanted to balance out the convoke with a bonus for not convoking, something that they never really did.
Now go Simic!

Whatever you spend on x it should be 1 more than the number of times you kick it.
