Just getting back into magic with this deck and doing alright with it (6th in a 40 odd ppl fnm), however the most trouble I have with it is knowing when to mulligan.
What do you consider a hand you need to mulligan? What ones are a keep besides the obvious God hands?
Been in countless situations where I thought to myself "damn, maybe I should of kept that hand".
Thanks!

Fade into antiquity is better for being able to hit the indestructible gods, but anyways everything i said was in response to ubermench's build, not general maze's end strategy.
Yeah, I realized after posting, my bad haha.
Fade actually isnt that bad, never knew it existed. Nice.

And idk how you dont struggle with pithing needle... You have no permanent ways to deal with it, and rift only "plays around" pithing by bouncing it the turn you can win with mazes end. But in case you didnt realize, that entails you manually dropping all 10 gates using only gatecreeper and ur limited draw power to dig for them, which is pretty much impossible to do before u run out of fogs unless u get REALLY lucky...
Pretty sure every deck with white or green in it should run Sundering Growth in sb. Personally running 2 Sphere's md with a Rift and I'm fine with that with more answers in sb. Dont think any deck plays pithing main anyway honestly.

I'd still play this deck with all the hate.
Game 1s without board are pretty good against the field and games with board are still okay because of abrupt decay's removal and having the option to go towards a transformable sideboad for aggro is always a good thing.

I'm thinking about finding room for Appetite for Brains or Duress also not really sure if I even want/need the life gain creature package. Also this is one I thought was cleaver the 1 of Ancient Grudge is basically only for decks where you expect Witchbane Orb since then you can go off mill yourself until you find grudge and then destroy their Orb and mill them
Should try and fit 4 Abrupt Decay in there.

I know this isn't Bant Delver, but this is the closet thing to a competitive Delver thread I could find.
Had a idea of a deck that could abuse charms but also have delver in there for tempo. This is what I came up with;
Haven't made up with SB yet but it looks fun.
And yes, I realize RDW would be a pretty terrible match up, but that's what the SB is for.

so, not to necro, but what do we think of this card now that Reckoner's such a big thing? I'm tempted to dump my Bonfires and cry in my soup because Reckoner makes this card so incredibly awkward.
I'd still play it.
It's right in the correct deck, having other removal getting rid of Reckoners.
Usually you'd play it as a 2 of anyway, so it shouldn't be tooooooo bad.

What people have to realize in this Tribute to Hunger and Devour Flesh argument is that they are both very different even though they serve the same purpose.
Tribute to Hunger is great in a midrange kind of deck, where 3 mana isn't too hard to save and lifegain is important in a midrange deck with this format. Against decks like RDW it's great. Played this yesterday at a CMT and I almost made top 8 due to the lifegain of this card, but I played it in the right deck; Jund Midrange.
Devour Flesh is also a great card. It's important in decks that don't care about having much life and don't expect to take much aggro hits. Control loves this card, and should abuse it. Having it only cost 2 mana is really important when you want counter magic up or whatever.
Victim of Night is probably the best removal card right now, lets be honest here. It's hits pretty much everything that's scary. The only problem with it is having the card cost BB, but it's fair. Having the best removal card not be abused in every deck is a sign of a healthy format in my opinion.

Top decks in my mind right now are Boros Deck Wins, Jund Midrange, and Human Combo.
Rdw is always a beast in a new meta, and boros charm just makes it that much better.
Jund can answer pretty much anything on board. With aggro being huge right now, removal is important, and with creatures like Thragtusk and Olivia, the deck is big threat.
Human Combo is easily hated out, but it's consistent enough to put up results in Atlanta. A competitive consistent combo deck is always scary to face.
