My LGs didnt report any of the 25 or so events i won (4-0 or better in every event)
because of this i was cheated out of several promos from wizards and possibly enough rating points to qualify for a big event. i quit playing paper because of this.
not to mention their prize support sucked. yes i won a booster box during the rise of eldrazi release, but every other event awarded something like a $3 promo. I went as far as to win a 14 man draft and all i got was a playmat and a promo.
not being racist but my LGS is ran by a jew (hes literally jewish) needless to say i dont go there anymore and if i play magic at all its online.
sometimes the trade offers on this site make my head want to explode.
for example:
i have 4x goblin chieftan, 4x traumatize, and 1x howling mine, im interested in your fetchland/dual/mox opal/koth/beta armageddon/insert other stupidly expensive card
ppl on here have the ability to single out the one card from your list that is worth the most and then make you a crappy offer for it.
personally i think if someone offers you $4 worth of cards for a $35 card they should be banned for being stupid and wasting your time
spikeshot 110%. not even close for me. id take spikeshot over everything except a planeswalker. and id only take the walker because of monetary considerations
im not gonna list the rares and mythic, but you can see how many cards celebration interacts with. kuldotha rebirth on a spell bomb doesnt seem that bad with furnace out. 2RR to do 2 damage draw a card and get 3 1/1 creatures. alot of these cards wont be high picks, for example i could see nihil spellbombs going as late as 14th.
furnace celebration is a card that improves the quality of all the cards in your deck. I would be happy playing a furnace with only 7 sacrifice effects. Ferrovre really shines here letting you sacrifice equipment, trygons, perilous myr, anything you can imagine to keep pinging for 2. we all know how good sylvok replica is going to be, moriok replica is great, and vulshok replica could easily find a place here. origin spell bomb and salvage scout can really create some card advantage, especially if you have a ferrovore or other sac outlet to eat those litte myr.id be happy about salvage scouting a spellbomb any time.
i know i will be picking all the furnace celebrations i ever see in triple scars draft.
round one
vs pcoulumb
i oepn with plains mountain forest, machete, makindi, diabolist, and a puma. he plays mountain expedition map, i draw graypelt hunter cast themachete and pass. he activates map. I draw arrow volley and pass. he plays a land and passes and i drop shield mate. he plays land and passes again, i draw archer and play graypelt. he plays quest for the gravelord and searing blaze killing my graypelt. i drop puma and on his turn he kills it with a torch slinger. i equip my 3/6 shield mate with both machete and torch. he plays a caustic crawler and passes. on my turn i draw pyromancer, and play taijuru archer and equip with machete. he attacks with his caustic crawler and plays slaughter cray and kills my shield mate. i kill his torch slinger with my torch. he pops the quest for a 5/5, i kill it with arrow volley trap. he out plays me over the next few turns by killing every ally i bring out with magma rift one and two. if i would have played a little better here i would have won. specifically not wasting my torch on his torch slinger or not playing my early drops without having mana to also equip with machete.
game two i start with a mulligan into plains, islnad, machete, torch, puma, highland opt to keep and draw a mountain. he plays expedition map, thenruthless cullblade, then corrupted zendikar. nice curve. i trade berserker for cullblade then play shieldmate. teetering peaks sends me down to 12. i equip my shieldmate and my hand is now puma, torch, refraction trap, inferno trap. he plays caustic crawler. i draw a crucial land number 4 and he plays teetering peaks, wrecking my refraction trap, i inferno the crawler and he swings me down to 7. he cracks map to search up teetering peaks number 3 and i block and send 3 at him via the trap. i draw ionas judgment and cast puma and he punishes me again by torch slinging my unprotected creature. i draw into forest and explore into another forest. draw pass. i draw plains pass. we both draw and pass again. and then he finishes me with double searing blaze and a torch slinger attack.
the deck felt powerful but it was as clunky as you might imagine. next time ill draft consistancy like i should have this time. any feed back would be appreciated.
if destructive force is going to be the red+metalcraft deck etched champion definitely deserves a spot here. a 2/2 with prot all colors who will survive destructive force plus he helps with metalcraft.
i recommend for you to buy a box of worldwake.
money cards
jace
avenger of zendikar
abyssal persecutor
stoneforge mystic
bassilisk collar
omnath
man-lands
triple worldwake isnt the best draft format ever, but its your best chance at opening money.
I would have ran this aggro list. Generally in sealed you want to play your best creatures and try and win with card quality, but by running red/white splash black you are able to run a pretty consistent deck with early creatures, ample removal, and alot of reach.
This deck runs early two drops like ajanis pridemate, goblin piker, and stormfront pegasus. Yes they are bears, but this deck wants to curve out. Between your removal, blinding mage, and your flying cratures you can clog up the ground and attack through the air. Sword of vengance is a bomb and will help to win any game that goes long, turning your two and three drops into relevant threats.
Ideally you just want to drop enough early creatures and removal to put your opponent on low life midway through the game and then either remove their creatures as they play them or use safe passage to net a 2:1 or better against a creature stall. Fling works overtime here with Arc runner and act of treason.
The big blue flyers are tempting, but id rather play a deck with more bodies and more removal.
i played temple bell in one of my first online sealeds. my deck was blue/black and had jace beleren and the temple bell as my only means of mill. i was able to activate jaces ultimate twice, once winning the game, and once leaving him with one card. Of course that one card was a lethal fireball which won him the match.
i would take the troll only if i had seen alot of green passed in pack 1 and i thought there was benefit from cutting green. especialy if you saw that black was dry. sometimes it is best to change colors and p2 p1 is def not too late here.
knowing when to change colors is all about adapting. sometimes it means deciding to pick the cudgel troll p2 p1. decisiveness is key. if you switch stick with your plan. dont pick cudgel troll then gravedigger number two then garruks companion.
if you saw alot more green cards after troll and especially good green cards in pack three you probably made the wrong decision. perhaps a pick by pick of the whole draft wouild have been more helpful
