i'm looking to go to Atlanta and do the Standard classic on sunday, which starts at 930.
What time do they normally cut to top 8? I'm unsure if would have time to participate, with my friends leaving potentially before then
Also, does the

I would say they're more competitive than a GP. GPs are half casual, where as starcity's events are purely competitive.
There are less people sitting around playing for fun at a starcity event, and there is an air of professionalism in the events, both from staff and players.
People go to grand prixs to have fun, it's essentially an MTG convention. People go to opens to win or they don't go at all.
I wouldn't compare it to a giant FNM at all, TCQs, those are giant FNMs. Local store level tournaments at a higher REL.
Open players are usually of very high skill, GP players are more across the board.
tuning in to any scg broadcast, i beg to differ.. and even from my own scg playing experience. the vast majority of scg people are terrible. whereas fighting for day2 of gp i played against much better players than what i normally play at scg
you get used to it after a while. the problem with modo might partially be because of bad interface, but more so because players are so used to 'shortcutting' in paper magic. Once you understand the actual steps of magic and interactions, modo is fine
my greatest success has been with 4 color decks, 3-0'ing twice with them. you just want good removal and quality creatures, along with 4ish guildgates, 2-3 keyrunes/cluestones.
I don't like the zealots too much, but against aggro it's like a worse reckoner.
I was mainly playing it because royal was, and since I had been winning with it in the deck I figured, why change it? But I do think that it's the weakest card, and I board it out against everything but aggro.
I have played aurelia before in other decks and I do love her. I just think that AoS is way more powerful.
I might just cut the zealots add in a blind obediance and 2 aurelia's.
I just played in another daily and played the mirror in the first two matchups. It seemed like the exact same list both times. And i lost, in both matches I had mana problems one game and the other games was simply because they cast rackdos's return before me.
So this deck seems to be gaining some tracktion, so stock up on devour flesh :).
I'm also thinking about cutting one AoS for a second blind obedience. Honestly life gain hasn't been a huge issue, but in the mirror i was sitting at 2 life for a while until he found an aurelia's fury. And it seems like it would be great to have a way to drain life that can't be dealt with easily. Plus it can slow down obzedat until i find a devour flesh, and it prevents them from playing a creature just to block the last damage.
And i am deffinitely cutting one assemble the legion for a keening apparition.
i played you round 1 ^^.. overall i dont think nothing in the mirror matters more than turn 3 keyrune into turn 4 rakdos return to shred the hand
took 27th with 4 color peddler/zegana. the deck was a blast to play. only two losses were in games 3 where i mulled to6 and proceeded to flood out, but thats just luck i guess

went 7-2-1
the two losses were due to mulls to 6 and then getting mana flooded in the game threes of those matches
