Conflux will expand the themes presented in Shards of Alara. As the name suggests, the shards began closing to each other, slowly overlapping and beginning to merge. Their three-color individuality is still largely maintained, but creatures (and probably also mechanics) from the individual shards could appear in other than their "native" shards. So far, there are only neighboring Shards overlaps, see below:
Known mechanics:
- "domain mechanic" is returning (source: Kartefakt)
- basic land cycling (source: Kartefakt)
- color matters (source: Kartefakt)
Poster from Worlds, illustrating the overlapping:
Apocalypse Hydra (Naya creature on Bant) - Kederekt Parasite (Grixis on Esper) - Paragon of the Amesha - Blood Tyrant (Grixis on Jund) - Vectis Agents (Esper on Grixis)
Banefire - Mirror-Sigil Sergeant - Suicidal Charge - Magister Sphinx (Esper on Grixis) - Beacon Behemoth
The "face" of the set - Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker
Special wallpaper illustrating Alara planeswalkers fighting Nicol Bolas - see here.
Fat Pack of Conflux. The "Agents of Artifice" is just a sample chapter.
I really, and I mean REALLY, wanna know why Naya's Intro Pack is the only one with a monocolored foil creature... maybe the other rare is a 3-color one while the other deck's other rare is a monocolored card? WotC usually have really strong reasons to break the balance this way... if not, that usually means something quite bad is on its way (in real life, not in the Magic fictional multiverse).
*sigh* So Kartefakt did confirm the theme was domain? Bummer... never really liked the Domain take on "you get this depending on how many of each land type you have." I hope they don't over do it with Conflux. That being said, at least I'll have a lot of good trade stuff out of my box.

If you look at the Naya pack, you will see that it is named Naya Domain, meaning all five colors. Naya colors are probably most prevalent, but they are used to 'ramp' or fetch into all five colors. The rare on the front is probably a creature that helps or cares about domain. He could also have activated abilities that contain Naya colors. So, it doesnt seem too out of the ordinary.

no, if you examine it closely, it says NAYA domain.
which means DOMAIN focused on NAYA colors.

SO whenever a card is spoiled that is more than 6 mana can we not have 19 pages of "if it costs that much mana, it should win the game" because even cruel ultimatum does not win the game on its own
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck *********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like to to occur and validate you.
I don't think that means much.
First, there's no picture, so, doubts.
Second, I get this feeling that people who win these bids are often quite secretive and keep the secret to themselves... I know I might, for a while.
ALSO: I think Naya's deck will be RGW, it's an Intro Pack, so it should be simple, after all.

Not to start a frenzy, but this is the same guy that sold several ALA boxes early last year.
Some people helped spoil a card or two as a result of his auctions.

If anything like the DVD or music market, if they caught him they'd simply limit his/her future shipments or punish by not sending him/her product in time for release. Nothing stops any shop from selling the hottest new cds or video games early other than the threat of not receiving future big releases on time... which in a competitive market, is really punishment enough. Nothing sucks more than having to turn people away because you never got your shipment on time (on purpose). Though truthfully I've never seen that happen to a game shop.
According to the bid now, there's still 2 days left before it ends, then at most 7 days to ship, so probably by early January, we'd have a lot of the cards spoiled...

Anyone else notice the ebay guy took down the listing? I wonder if he got his hand slapped or if he genuinely didn't realize he was doing something he wasn't supposed to.

The auction got taken down because WoTC got involved, I am sure.
Do you think WoTC doesn't read our forums?
He knew he was doing something wrong. He did it before.

Actually, the guy was a jerk. I was with my friend when the guy closed the bid, and my friend had messaged the guy asking if he legitimately had the packs... The seller responded with something along the lines of "LOL, if you're so skeptical, then I'll just close the auction".
So I suppose it's sort of my buddy's fault. Sorry guys.

Eh...I brought it up, so there's that. This guy was a jerk last season, too. A few people were asking about how fast he'd ship the boxes, etc etc and he was a little snarky with his replies. Good riddance
I've looked all over, but I haven't been able to find the rarity distribution of Conflux. Do we not know it?
