It has come to my attention that some of you are annoyed by the cards being spoiled in puzzle form. I rarely use forums so I would like someone to create a poll asking whether or not you find it more interesting solving the new cards in puzzle form, or would you just rather be told the cards? I have received PM's on both sides of this issue. I will still relate the info I receive either way. I am posting this here because this directly relates to this forum. Also, if any of the Mods have an issue with the puzzles causing too much speculation and/or spam, please feel free to PM me.
After seeing the results so far, and reading most of your posts on this thread, I have come to a few conclusions:
1. Most of you like the puzzles.
2. You would prefer that only rares/interesting cards be puzzled.
3. You want the first post updated after the puzzle has been solved.
I hope this will make everyone a little happier in the future.
For ordinary limited-fodder, just give us the cards. Spending 20 minutes to learn that they made a Hill Giant with Reach would be frustrating to say the least.
For good cards, though, the suspense makes it that much better when you get the pay-off. It's not like the 'Mill won't have it figured out in a day or so anyway.

I, for one, like the puzzles. The cards are going to get put on the spoiler eventually anyway... the people that want the cards *right now* just need to chill out... Obviously, there was a reason behind the puzzles in the first place - you enjoy them, am I right? I think I lot of people here enjoy them too. I'm sure we'll hear arguments like "it makes errors more likely", but as long as whoever knows the info confirms it at the end, it's all good. Gives us something to do - if you don't like puzzles, well, the card is usually solved within a few hours, so... there's not a whole lot of difference if you're just in it for the cards.
Rather just be told, the puzzles are annoing especially the Nicol bolas one. did we ever even get the full spoiler on that?
Add to that that this set is (so far) super boring and uninteresting and I'm not sure whypeopel even bother with the puzzles. Sorry to be negative but its what i think.
Just as Goryus said, for the cards (not necessarily rare) that could change the game, riddles are great for the suspense. I don't see why people are annoyed about the riddles... At least there's some fun in finding out what the card is.
For the people who don't like the riddles, they can just get a cup of coffee or spend the day out. It'll be solved in an hour or so when they get back. It's not like you REALLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE CARD DOES now 'coz someone's gonna buy the single from a card shop, y'know.
I voted nay, not because I think there are more errors to be caused due to the puzzles. But rather because I think that the puzzles cause a greater amount of "spam" or rather Psuedo-Spam to the forum. Posts that really do not need to be made while people are trying to solve these puzzles. It also detracts from various peoples desire to actually post on the Rumor Mill for the purpose of discussing the cards, people like myself. I would rather see the card that is to be discussed spoiled in the first post, and then be able to discuss it from that point on within the thread. As opposed to what is going on currently, which is basically 5 to 10 pages of puzzle solving crap followed only at that point by people being able to actually discuss the cards (in the most extreme of scenerios)... in the fastest case scenerio I have seen, which was the Nicol Bolas spoiling thread, people had figured out what one of the cards was by the end of page 1... however were still working on Nicol Bolas by page 3 or 4. So yeah, I think that this is an issue that causes serious problems for the forum... Or at least the Rumor Mill section.

The puzzles tickle your brain, make you younger (and think better), and have fun. I don't see why they should not be part of the rumors.
EDIT: @Dalkon, perhaps that can be easily rectified by putting up a new sub-forum mainly for solving the riddles. Only after the riddles are solved and the final card is confirmed will it be discussed in the Rumor Mill. Agree?

No we didnt... because they arent going to spoil it fully... they are leaving it to Wizos to spoil

My only problem with it is that the first post of the riddle should be updated once it is solved. It takes effort to track down the post where the answer is and then piece it together. If you just bothered to put it down later under a spoiler button it would be fantastic.
i do not enjoy them at all. i come to rumor mill to see the cards of the upcoming set, not browse pages and pages to to get a general gist off what the card does
I don't mind a little puzzling, but stuff like the Voracious Dragon thing is a bit too convoluted for my tastes.
By all means keep the puzzles if you can keep them simple and manageable. Otherwise, just spoil the cards.

I, personally, don't enjoy solving puzzles of that sort, but having them here is such a minor inconvenience that I think they should be kept for the body of posters that obviously enjoy them. it's not like having the card take a little while longer to be revealed actually matters.
I pretty much stated what I felt in the thread I made in Speak Your Mind. I don't feel like the puzzles add much to the forum, and I think they detract from card discussion and are just kind of annoying in general to people who want to know the cards.
This is the rumor mill, not a puzzle forum. Well I can see why people like the puzzles, there needs to be some way for people not interested in them to know the cards without going through five pages of randoms guessing what it is.
Those who don't like the puzzles can just scroll down to the bottom of the first page of the thread. Surely not a tragedy!
Also once solved the first post is generally updated. Which is a good thing. Particularly if done with a
spoiler
.
except the first page of the thread is not necessarily where the result of the puzzle will be found... Sometimes (as is the case with the Nicol Bolas Puzzle) the puzzles result wasn't finished until the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th page (I don't remember exactly which), complete with confirmation. And we still don't even know the entirety of what Nicol Bolas does. So in otherwords, this entire point that you raise is kind of moot.

I agree with this. It sort of miffs me that a new card gets spoiled in an existing thread only to be confronted with 30+ pages. I don't wanna sound Lazy or anything, but that part gets a bit annoying.

If your answer is "No," then your morality does not come from God's commandments.
If your answer is "Yes," then please, please reconsider.
