i beg to differ, but whatever; you're entitled to your opinion as much as i am.
yeah, this is my view too.
huh; which explains why the mtgsalvation redirect was DELETED, as far as i can see.
iirc, your reason for deletion was "no reason for this page"
i think what really matters is hannes' voice on this matter
or xenphire's.
yeah, maybe that's a bad analogy/comparison?
even you admitted to it being a 'bad example'.
you have an inherent bias to this opinion, you realize.
furthermore, who's to say that your assessment of 'good' is any more accurate than the next person's?
yeah, i'd be more than glad to say that nycity looks "sloppy and unprofessional" (um, new york city is sort of a city, not a website; bad example, bad comparison, bad analogy).
but, you do realize there's a difference between the two, right, and that difference accounts for the huge variation of opinions?
you don't ever see people writing/typing nycity, but you do see ny city; but you do see people typing mtgsalvation and mtg salvation.
also, that's just one example.
yeah, for real.
rofl.
that just looks gross.
the colon makes my... haha, nvm.
whoa hoss, - you sound bitter - someone needs a time out for sure

It gives a more 'official' name, rather than just a typical gimmicky forum. If that makes sense.
personally, i'm gonna stick with mtgsalvation because that's how it's looked since a long while.
both see use, but mtg salvation reflects badly on the forums.

Well, I'll just say one last thing on this topic then:
It would be odd for the name of the MTGS wiki to be different than MTGS itself, wouldn't it?
Hey ZasZ234; long time no see. Dude, you really don't need this bit; you have a screen name, matey.;)

Coming from someone who loves aesthetics and hates capital letters in the middle of words when there should be a space (even though the first word is an acronym), I have to say that both sides of the argument are nearly correct.
It's not really in the middle of words, like tHIs. Like I said, I've seen both used, and frankly, MTGSalvation has itself ingrained in my mind as the preferred alternative (of the two; which is sort of implied through the use of alternative, yakkity yakkity yak...).

Or you might track down Xen, and ask what his intentions were. Even if I don't think his intentions particularly matter, I still think it would be great for someone to figure out what they were.
Well, yeah. I don't know if he even cares or checks anymore, or even remembers the site he founded.
It'd be great to catch up with him, I suppose.

Agree with MTGSalvation. It gives a more 'official' name, rather than just a typical gimmicky forum. If that makes sense.
Something about the space between MTG and Salvation makes me feel that way; 'gimmicky' or tacky.
Also, do you have any thoughts on the site's name; MTGSalvation vs. MTG Salvation?
While I'm sure it's just a triviality, I suppose I'd personally like to have some congruity throughout the entire wiki (and this doesn't solely apply to MTGSal./MTG Sal., but other (I suppose, minor) things, such as MTGS Wiki or MTGSWiki).
Hmm, I think "officially" it's MTGSalvation and MTGS where it doesn't fit, but on the front page it's MTG Salvation and also everywhere in the forums...
So take your pick
Straight from the horse's mouth if you will, with some redacting and modification.
On the wiki, I just find it horribly gross to see an underscore between MTG and Salvation; also, I find it bothersome to type an extra keystroke and type something that I find repulsive.

i'll second that entire statement. down with underscores!!!

Well it is done almost everywhere else as "MTG Salvation". So if anything it should be fixed on that ONE page rather than be changed on all other pages.
Written out: "MTG Salvation"
Abbreviated: "MTGS"
In the message boards it doesn't really matter how it is spelled, but for the wiki it should be spelled the way that the site spells it (except for that one instance).
EDIT:
I've been thinking about this, and i think that a lot of the arguments are for the question: How should the name of this site should be spelled?
But the question is: How should the name of this site be spelled ... in the MTGS Wiki?
Similar question, but really different answers. Whether or not "MTG Salvation" looks better or worse, or more or less professional than "MTGSalvation" doesn't really matter. "MTG Salvation" is how the name of the site is currently spelled. So that is how it should be spelled in the wiki.

Yes, it is like that. Which looks better?
Magic: The GatheringSalvation
Magic: The Gathering Salvation
I still prefer my compromise:
MTG Salvation when spelled out,
MTGS when abbreviated.
It makes sense. Do you type VirtualLAN? No, you type Virtual LAN, or VLAN.
If Magic was instead called Amazing Scoops, would you prefer AS Salvation, or ASSalvation?
I called it "MTGS" and if someone might not know it, I call it "MTG Salvation" so if you're going to spell out one of the words, you should seperate from the abbreviated one's. If you want to say "check my list" most people use cml, but if you wanted to elaborate like "check my sales thread" then I would abbreviate like this: cm sales thread. Just an example.
Okay, guys and gals, continue to post and vote as you will, but Hannes pretty much gave an official response; "MTG Salvation" and "MTGS" (the latter of which was never up for discussion or debate, nor is there any apparent dissension about it), and "MTGSalvation" only when it doesn't fit.
As for on the wiki, well, I personally wanted it to match MTGNews, but it looks like nah, no, "MTG Salvation".
... it is MTGNews, nor MTG News, right?
EtA:
I really don't like the underscores. A solution to this would be editing the MediaWiki page, I guess...

dude, that doesn't respond to the thread.
and sorry; TotM.:-/

well, what about MtGS wiki?
or MtG Salvation?
why not just spell the darn thing?

It's a southern thing hehe and I'm not even southern, just lived in the south for too long.
... do you...
[Um... ok.]
... want to...

And if I've offended you, I'm sorry, but maybe you need to be offended. But here's my apology and one more thing...
If you were serrious about that, you should have suggested "M:tG Salvation" ... but I digress.

The different ways that MTG Salvation is spelled:
MTG Salvation
MTGS
MTGSalvation.com
Mtgsalvation.com
mtgsalvation.com
If you are putting the ".com" at the end then yes it can and should be one word.
