to anyone who knows, why is the MTGS users page uneditable? i mean it's editable, but it just shows the heading and such but no user text/links. i'm wondering because i was going to make user pages for all of [CMB]
I suppose it isn't necroing if it's stickied and an official thread?
nope; if here, it's mos' def' okay.
In short, we're looking for a place where we can place projects, and have a select few people (in teams possibly) working on them (IE, not editable by the public). These include text files, MSE files, images, etc. None of that's final if you read the thread, but it pretty much is for sure needed for text files (the .txt files for MWS spoilers). Would this be possible on the current wiki?
I think this cooperative project is as awesome as a uni-institute coop.
PS: I'm not certain on how version control works with MediaWiki... But that is also important.
you could make a page and link to hosting sites that could store any document you needed to store, but you would need admin wiki rights to lock the pages from public editing. i think most the wiki admins are long gone from this forums.....:-/
i get it; sorry, dude.
make him/her an admin, stat! (i have no idea about the quality and/or quantity of your contributions, actually.)
I'm still around although I'm not sure what CXA26483 is talking about putting on the Wiki but it sounds like he'd definitely need Hannes permission. I feel so invisible sometimes. I become an Admin and another goes AWOL.
sorry, dude. :(too hosed and don't go on/use the internet but for work
TLDR; To prevent a million threads from opening, each different, about a .txt spoiler for MWS, and cluttering up the software forum, we're trying to devise a way to collaborate on it, and a wiki is a possibility I believe. There are free ones out there, but MTGS already has one... so I think it's probably best if we do our work there =]. Other projects include, but are not limited to, MSE files, images, and although I know very little about it, possibly seneschul's apprentice work (unless no one wishes to help out on that [frankly I don't know too many people who still use apprentice, let alone are able to do anything with/to it O_o;;]). Overall, the amount of space required is probably less than 1GB, and although I'm not aware of the inner workings of MTGS (where it's hosted, how much it costs to run, etc) I'd be willing to put some assets forth towards making any of this possible (whether monetary, or otherwise).
[something "black-hat" about fiduciary and legal considerations]
since we have a wiki admin (a race once thought to be extinct here) any idea what's up with the total MTGS user's page? and why it can't be directly edited to add new people? and/or can non-admins make user pages with user: before their username? i kinda screwed that up on mine....:-/
A question - What notability must a user have to have an article created about him/herself? I notice that there are some articles that are autobiographies, essentially, as those users created their own articles about themselves.
EDIT: It seems that these pages are simply more formal versions of a typical user page that would be found on Wikipedia? Either way, I created one for myself.
'user:'-space pages are anything much goes, while proper main namespace pages are formal articles.

i think.
Alright, got that. So using third person? I think I pretty much got the information covered. (It's not usual for someone to actually say "Not revealed" for the gender in the infobox... Although that is one thing that I'm known for, so I put it anyways...)

As I attempted to go through on my usual quest to consolidate and improve various articles, I ran across a bug that seems not to have been talked about.
Chiefly, I cannot edit any pages. Looking at the list of recent changes, it seems I am not the only one with this issue either. I just felt it best to report it here, as it is the only place I know of to report it to anybody that could do anything about it.
I suppose I should specify though, that I can access the edit page, but when submitting, or even trying to preview said changes I make, the pages don't update and I in fact receive a pure blank page. This also happens when I try to upload a file, though oddly enough, it DOES upload the picture, it merely does not show up on the recent changes nor does it proceed to the file uploaded page afterwards.
In light of recent spamming on the wiki, would registering accounts/users be all right and in agreement with a verification process?
I can't accurately express what I mean but this wouldn't involve e-mail to verify; rather, it would be that sysops and bureaucrats would a-okay registering accounts.
The paragraph above notwithstanding, e-mail validation may or may not be worth considering.
I don't know all the methods regarding wiki editing. Right now, you don't even need an account to edit. You can see anonymous accounts are editing validly. Spam is coming from non anonymous accounts. Some verification method does need to be put in place but I'm not sure what.

Perhaps editing -- and, at the very least, addition of links -- could be reverted to logged-in users once again.
Hearsay is that scripts can be installed to alert system operators and bureaucrats to be alerted of users that are identified to be bots, bot-like, spammers, or spammer-like for further action, as well as a great many number of scripts of varied purpose.
Is there a guide for posting decks here? I've searched but couldn't find anything. I'm new to the forum and can't figure out how you get those decklists with the links like you guys have

See the upper bar with the back of multiple cards and one 'face up' card (next to the mana symbols)? Write out your list:
[ DECK ]1x Liliana Vess
3x Leyline of the Void
3x Chancellor of the Spires[ /DECK ]
Then highlight it and press that button. It should wrap your cards with the [ deck ] [ /deck ] tags (without the spaces) as indicated above.
Once it does, you can post and/or preview and it will look like this:
Sorry to revive this old thread but my questions kinda fits in here as well, so instead of making a new thread where 1 answer would be sufficent for me I go ahead and post it in here.
All I simply want to know is how to post a single card that is linked to magiccards.info when u click on it, like those in the decklist.
Edit: Oh and another one real quick: how do you make these spoiler things that you cn click on and then they open.
Since this message is on the wiki forum, the user might be looking to post cards or decks on the wiki. To do that, put a <c> </c> around the card name. For deck lists, put a <d> </d> around the list of cards.

For the last few hours, I have been going through things that I have missed during my absence and other things that haven't been missed but have been there, such as the main page, that may require a design (if not a rebranding).
This is an aesthetic matter but MTGS Wiki has essentially had the same main page and look since 2008/2009. Now is your chance to make a difference.
For the main page, what do you think would be the best layout for this page; what should be displayed; and what colours (list of colours at Wikipedia) would you like to see used? Uploaded sketched or MS Paint jobs would be helpful but words are good too!
How would you like the wiki to look like? Shout at the sysops!
Update: Barinellos, Hunter61, rianalnn, and unistardust are now sysops of MTGS Wiki. If one has anything for them, such as questions or requests, please address them as appropriate.
They, like others, may (or, more than likely, are) be busy or otherwise indiposed, however; therefore, one shouldn't expect instantaneous responses or acts.
I'd otherwise stay away from here but there appears to be server-side errors and stability issues with the Wiki.
Hunter, Bar, GeoMike, or USD, could one of you guys or many of you guys get involved in getting a report on the state of things and see to fixing some of these issues as they arise?
Currently, I'm editing (hopefully improving) 'Fetch lands', but I've cut:
Additionally, there have been some odd lands that may be considered fetch lands as well. <c>Terminal Moraine</c> from Planeshift can tap for or for , t and sacrifice it can search for any basic land and bring it into play tapped. <c>Krosan Verge</c> from the green and white centered Judgment set comes into play tapped, taps for , or can be tapped and sacrificed for to search for a Forest and Plains card and put them into play tapped. Time Spiral as well as subsequent Core sets 10th Edition and Magic 2010 printed <c>Terramorphic Expanse</c> which does not require life to be paid but can only search for a basic land (of any type) which it will bring into play tapped. <c>Evolving Wilds</c> is a functional reprint of Terramorphic Expanse from Rise of the Eldrazi. Finally, the legendary <c>Flagstones of Trokair</c>, also of Time Spiral may also be considered a fetch land even though it can not sacrifice itself. However, when it is put into the graveyard from play it searches for a Plains card and puts it into play tapped. <c>Thawing Glaciers</c> from Alliances could also be considered a fetch land, although it is reusable.
Which seems like I've simply removed a section. Instead, I'm moving it to the bottom of the article and adding the header "Variations", where it makes more logical sense.

http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/Tournament_pack
it says the packs only started with Revised, but they already existed in the two limited and the unlimited editions.
I'd correct it myself but there's probably something I'm missing.

1 Honor of the Pure
Lands (2):
2 Mountain
Sideboard (15):
15 Mountain
[ /deck ]
looks like
2 Goblin Guide
1 Honor of the Pure
2 Mountain
15 Mountain
for spoilers:
[ spoiler]
Cardname1
Cardname2
Cardname3
[ /spoiler]
again, minuses the spaces.

There are also issues with accessing pages that do not have content.
Place, people, and personality pages will be "dealt with" or so it is thought.
They, like others, may (or, more than likely, are) be busy or otherwise indiposed, however; therefore, one shouldn't expect instantaneous responses or acts.
