Cant wait for this one. Maybe this time I will play something that is competitive instead of big blue. Totally going for that box of Legacy....foil welder here I come! Cant wait to see everyone there. Last time it was a blast.
@ arcslogger - if you guys come down again, we have our own cube at the store now, and it would be a blast to play you guys again.

Round One: Bill Copes playing Stax
Bill seems like a nice guy till I see that he's playing Stax and realize (by way of a concrete Magic formula I learned from my 4th grade math teacher) he has no soul.
So is there any excitment about some type 1 in socal? The last tourney had a bid turn out, with a lot of different decks, I hope we can get it again. Ichorid took down 2 of the last 4 tourney's with Goblins and fish each taking a win too? Is there no combo players to step up?

I look forward to it. We've been foiling out our Cube recently so it looks a lot nicer now.
I hope you guys are already to lose to Ichorid again.
Sigh why does everything that is fun and happening in september have to happen to all land on the 20th? Seriously this is like the 5th thing happening and I should be going to all of them...

I will play what wins, not what is convenient. Personal preference is nothing, The win is all that matters. I will netdeck at every opportunity, but I will not let that stifle my creativity. Style points do not appear on tournament reports. A good deck with an incompetent pilot is nothing more than a dressed up match win. I will crush my opponent mercilessly, and expect no less from him. Victory is its own reward, The prize is just a bonus.
Legacy is dying

what could possibly be more important than playing the format of kings?

just over a week to go. There is so much stuff at the store right now. I am hoping for a really big turnout so we can have a huge prize pool!
@ Arc Slogger - your probably right. I would mull to 3 keeping crypt, crypt, lotus and you would open with chalice on zero and blow me out....oh wait.

That concludes this week’s Latest Developments, but before we go for the week it bears mentioning that Time Vault’s power-level errata will be removed in conjunction with the next Oracle update scheduled for September 26. As a result the card has been banned in Legacy and restricted in Vintage; the explanations regarding those changes will be given when the Oracle text is officially updated later in September.
FYI everyone.
I took this right from wizards. It probably wont be updated by this coming weekend.

Yeah, we have been foiling out the cube to a rediculous extent-foil Venser, foil Meloku, Jap foil Psi Blast, and Foil Gifts. And a Mana Drain got added as well-English at that.
I'm looking really forward to this tournament; last time was a lot of fun. Best format for sure.

We will be following the Banned/Restricted list changes effective 9/20/08.
Specifically this means:
Chrome Mox (unrestricted effective Sept. 20, 2008)
Dream Halls (unrestricted effective Sept. 20, 2008)
Mox Diamond (unrestricted effective Sept. 20, 2008)
Personal Tutor (unrestricted effective Sept. 20, 2008)

Unless the updated Oracle ruling on Time Vault is released on or before Sept. 19, Time Vault will be played according to current errata.
