The members of both teams are transported to a different dimension with all information about their opponents “uploaded” into their minds. They have 30 minutes to prepare and talk to each other (they don’t know anything about each other as teammates, save for any experience from previous matches of this same tournament), and will also have full access to any technology, magic, weaponry, resources, etc. which they would routinely be able to use from their respective universes. Teammates may share resources with each other. Afterwards, both teams are teleported to the randomly chosen plane, which has mystically sealed off so that none of them can escape the battlefield in any way. The team that manages to knock out and/or kill both members of the opposing team will be declared the winner. There is no time limit.
Write ups for both teams:
Team "By Your Powers Combined" - Captain Planet and Avatar Aang
Champion of Gaia, the spirit of the Earth, Captain Planet is the embodiment of the four classic Greek elements (Earth, Fire, Wind and Water) put into humanoid form through the power of Heart. He is a superhero who is bound to the physical realm of the planet, and can manipulate the elements to his will. In his universe, he combats villains who wish to use the planet for motives such as greed, power, or simply enjoying seeing the pain inflicted on society caused by environmental destruction. He gains power from the planet, but any forms of destruction to it weakens him severely. He is routinely assisted by the Planeteers, a group of young people united in diversity, armed each with a ring associated with each element which grants them their own powers, motivated by a common goal of saving the world, who can combine their powers to summon him, leaving Captain Planet to take on the battles that they would not be able to manage otherwise.
The Avatar is the spirit of the planet in human form, and is the only person in the world who can master the fighting traditions of all four of the classic Greek elements of his (or her, in this case, his) universe (Earth, Fire, Air and Water). He is as old as the deities who existed at the dawn of time, is born as an element "bender" under one of the four nations in a cycle, and eventually learns to master all the elements over the course of his life to act out his duty as the peacekeeper of the world. As if being the absolute master of the elements was not enough, the Avatar can be put into an "Avatar State" when in a life-threatening situation, causing him to have the power of all past Avatars simultaneously. This is the adult Avatar Aang in his prime, a child prodigy who became one of the greatest (if not the greatest) of the Avatars to have ever lived.
Both characters are paragons of their ideals, powered by the earth spirits of their respective universe, advocates of peace, harmony, spiritual and natural balance, and the greater good of the planet. Both characters are earth-shaking and incredibly powerful elemental controllers, assisted by a group of young people, tasked to take down threats capable of destroying the world. These two, if they ever met, would become great allies to each other in the never-ending quest for the protection of the world.
Team "Justice For All" - Gideon Jura and Captain America
Gideon Jura is a Magic The Gathering Planeswalker who also happens to be a gifted Hieromancer, the magic of Order. He is a stalwart man of honor and justice, always looking to bring order to the world through his strength and holy magic. Only after allying himself with a fiery personality in Chandra did he realize that the order he worked for might not be all it's cracked up to be, and has decided now to fight in the name of what order and morality truly stand for, and to protect those in need.
Captain America is a member of the WW2 Super Soldier project, that allowed him to become a peak physical specimen in all things that a human could do. A master tactician, he fought for truth, justice and the American Way. Only after allying himself with a fiery personality in...well, the Avengers, did he realize that the Government he worked for might not be all it's cracked up to be, and has decided now to fight in the name of what the founding fathers truly stood for, and to protect those in need.
Both are believers in true justice, are kind souls that can't stand to see an innocent get persecuted while the guilty roam free. And both will always fight for what is right, even if it defies the wishes of their orders/government.
How do I vote for the team I like? Well, I'm glad you asked...
This tournament uses a “Dual-Voting System” in which every user on MTGS may vote twice, once on the poll of the thread, and once by posting on the thread itself (by explicitly stating “I vote for team *insert name* because *insert reason*” in a post on the thread). You may spread these votes as you wish (you can vote anonymously on the poll for one team, but express your vote publicly through a post for another), or use them both to vote for the same team, or only vote once (using either method). In the end, the total of both "poll" and "post" votes will be used to determine a winner. In the event of a tie between total votes, the team with the most votes posted publicly on the thread itself shall be declared the winner, and move on to the next round. You only have one week to vote (two weeks for the semi-finals and finals), and the poll automatically closes on Sunday, 12MN (GMT +1). Only posts that occur before that time will be counted as valid votes.

I participate yearly in a survival challenge in which I am dropped off in the wilderness with 1 days rations, a knife, and no other supplies, and have to find my way home. This is typically several weeks hiking from civilization.
I have personally killed several bears in the course of this challenge, with the use of snares and other traps.
Now that is a plane that favours team powers combined !
When creatures enter play you go fetch lands and the lands animate, Gideon and cap have no pollution so Captain Planet is at full power and aang has plenty of elements to work with, this is looking 1 sided!
Write up to follow .... The power is yours !
Perhaps! But Gideon and Captain America have lasted this long built on strategy, and not only is Gideon familiar with the area, but the terrain is also ideal for soldiers and warfare. Gideon is also one of the few people in the tournament (maybe the only one) who can actually pacify Aang without triggering the Avatar State (and even if Aang were to enter it conciously, he wouldn't be able to attack anyway, because he's pacified).
I don't think this will be a clean win, nuh-uh. I am looking forward to the write up though.
BTW, this week's final matches will have a grand total of 9 days for voting. It's not two weeks, but it will end on Sunday and it cut short the threads that practically died, so I figured it was a win-win.

Shhhhhy you mister diplomatic , I refuse to believe mister dull Gideon even got this far ! He has the personality of wet cardboard and is probably the weakest walker not named tibalt
Must be Captain America then. To think, after all the things we did to the comic book characters, good old Steve Rogers is the only one who actually made it to one of the top four teams. It's been one wacky tournament. Who could have guessed it would end this way?

Vote solidly for BYPC, it cant get any easier for them. What have saved Gideon is his "celestial flare" and "planar cleansing", but in a plane filled with nature Aang can simply imprison C. America with water/earth, knock him with with a whirlwind o stone attack. I am not saying Captain is a weakling... just... a human, not even if super human, can defeat the power of nature.
Both Gideon and C. America are incapable of creating pollution... so... I guess thats pretty much GG against C. Planet.

Similarly, Gideon can imprision Aang with Pacifism or some variant thereof. Like I said, it's one of the few bits of magic in the tournament which is practically guaranteed not to put the Avatar in harm's way, and therefore not trigger the Avatar State. Last match we heard some pretty good arguments that left BYPC vulnerable to forms of magic, with CP being a magical construct himself, and Gideon is a pretty powerful mage (that is, a Planeswalker). They still have to get around Gideon's invulnerability trick, and Captain America's shield can still provide some darksteel level protection barring that, with BYPC having no real way to deal with that adamantium-vibranium alloy and magically induced resistance to harm. Also, the classic "Let's enchant Captain America, the perfect conduit for W mana!" argument is still out there for anyone who wants to make the case.

Cap A's the weakest link, here. The Avatar and Cap P are clearly at an advantage both power-wise and terrain-wise; Gideon and Cap A may be excellent strategists, but the raw might that BYPC can throw at them would simply overwhelm them, IMO.
Also, not surprised at all that we're seeing two teams with Planeswalkers in the final 4.

The terrain is in their favor and team jfa is one of the few teams that can't abuse cp's weakness (not that they would if they could, there's no honor in that)
I see their terran advantage combine with the weakness of honor for the other team enough to push through a victory.
I see your point, but I find the whole "weakness of honor" thing a bit funny, especially considering that JFA managed to defeat three of the most underhanded comic book fighters in history, all participants in the tournament (Batman, The Punisher, and Wolverine), only to get beaten here by Aang and CP, who are arguably their equals in that area of outstanding morality.
Here's the tally so far (surprisingly large swing from the last one, despite only being two posts apart):
Notes:
With exactly two days and one hour left to vote, it seems the TOU matches are the ones which need some serious deciding on, more than the TOC. All that seems to matter now is to figure out which of the 4 TOU teams will be fighting the TOC final 4. Of course, all the threads will still be open, so arguments, last minute votes etc. are still welcome, and, as we know on these forums, anything can happen.

Like you said poring, Captain America is the PERFECT conduit for White Mana, combined with Gideon's knowledge about the area, could lead to an impressive victory for JFA.
Sorry, but Living Plane was as good as it got for BYPC, Gideon is the key to victory here, especially since he's more familiar with the area than Either Aang or CP... Plus, you know, disenchanting CP might be the key to winning here. since he is a magical construct... Plus, Arrest on Aang... no bending, nothing...
JFA takes this one, there's no way they can lose.

Disenchant doesn't work on elementals, which is what I would classify CP more as than an enchantment.... I would view him more as a WRGBU creature and the rings are his mana Arrest is a slow spell Aang is pretty fast would he even live long enough to finsih casting?
I'm putting in my vote for BYPC. They have the terrain advantage. Aang by nature is a pacifist. Pacifying a pacifist seems to redundant to work as well as they would like it to. Plus Captain Planet will be a house in this match, they don't have anything to weaken him with.
Notes:
We have a winner! Congratulations to Captain Planet and Avatar Aang for making it as the TOC’s 3rd place, and to Gideon Jura and Captain America for making it in 4th. I’m sure they are eternally grateful to all their fans and supporters who helped them get this far, as am I. Thank you all for making the TOC awesome.
The next question is… can they take on their counterparts in the TOU? We shall see!

Still anyone’s game.
How well do you do against one?
The terrain is in their favor and team jfa is one of the few teams that can't abuse cp's weakness (not that they would if they could, there's no honor in that)
Thank you, Warp778! Now I can update the tally.
