Team "Fun Size" - Yoda and Kirby
Yoda is a diminutive Jedi Master who has incredible power over the Force and otherwise is a skilled lightsaber duelist in his own right. Hundreds if not thousands of years old, with enough experience in the force to be arguably the strongest Jedi not amplified by a deux ex machine plot device.
Kirby is a diminutive pink blob who has the ability to swallow literally any physical being or object and gain the properties of that being or object. This includes stealing of powers or otherwise just adopting traits that are beneficial to him.

Team "Wizard Guide" - Gandalf the White and Albus Dumbledore
The most powerful wizards of their respective universes, both paragons for the forces of good, somewhat eccentric, and incredibly capable in dealing with dark opponents, these fantastic champions will use their wisdom, experience, and skills to outclass their opponents. While Gandalf is the more capable fighter in hand to hand combat, Albus has an array of vast magic up his sleeve as well. Together, they would be a formidable force for any who isn't ready for their magical onslaught.

Gandalf the White is entrusted to help train the newest member of the Maiar, Dumbledore the Grey, as they guide Earth's new heroes against the forces of evil.
How do I vote for the team I like? Well, I'm glad you asked...
This tournament uses a “Dual-Voting System” in which every user on MTGS may vote twice, once on the poll of the thread, and once by posting on the thread itself (by explicitly stating “I vote for team *insert name* because *insert reason*” in a post on the thread). You may spread these votes as you wish (you can vote anonymously on the poll for one team, but express your vote publicly through a post for another), or use them both to vote for the same team, or only vote once (using either method). In the end, the total of both "poll" and "post" votes will be used to determine a winner. In the event of a tie between total votes, the team with the most votes posted publicly on the thread itself shall be declared the winner, and move on to the next round. You only have one week to vote (two weeks for the semi-finals and finals), and the poll automatically closes on Sunday, 12MN (GMT +1). Only posts that occur before that time will be counted as valid votes.

I participate yearly in a survival challenge in which I am dropped off in the wilderness with 1 days rations, a knife, and no other supplies, and have to find my way home. This is typically several weeks hiking from civilization.
I have personally killed several bears in the course of this challenge, with the use of snares and other traps.
I love team FS... but man... Kirby was always a counter for the most powerful adversary, so it all comes to Yoda beating the 2nd guy; if he can Fun Size wins.
But in this occasion...Kirby could copy Dumbledore BUT he doesnt have the creativity that Dumbledore has and he doesnt have any tactical background, which is the Wizards strong point and they'll be able to trap/defeat FS with a good prep-time, and I dont think Yoda/Kirby can make any good use of prep-time.
going to go out on a limb here and say Team FS, Kirby is counter to any team ulitmate flexability here, and I think Yoda's force powers will be more than a match for wizards magic, also lightsabers> mettel/wood... Yoda uses force to take away Dumbledoor's wand...... 100% disabled opponeont... only have to worry about gandolf...
team wizard guide have this, and it isn't close. Their magic is *vastly* superior to Yoda's known force powers - Dumbledore can shatter a tree and turn it in to a hail of shards aimed at the opponents. Kirby would be knocked out - either turned to stone or through mental magic - in short order.
How is it that people think Gandalf is weaker than Dumbledor?
People tend to have the impression that just because magical powers in LOTR aren't as flashy and explosive as those in Harry Potter that they're weaker.
Gandalf killed a Balrog. He is absolutely the strongest of the four in this fight.

Sure. Except we also know from the books that anyone strong-willed enough would be able to resist that, and while Kirby in base form is probably not known for this, let's not forget that he'll likely start off with Yoda's powers, and Yoda is one of the most powerful Force users of his universe. That and the fact that the Force grants resistance to various forms of higher order mental manipulation, I don't see the Imperius Curse and similar high tier mental spells posing a major problem to a team that's going to be shielded for the first part of the match.
Gandalf killed a Balrog. He is absolutely the strongest of the four in this fight.
That's true. However, Yoda has centuries of experience dealing with strange beings from all around the galaxy in a futuristic setting, and Kirby has some pretty sick feats by virtue of him swatting away a random Eldritch Abomination/Über Mage every other game. They're both defenders of their strange and different universes. Albus lives in a world where dragons and other mythical creatures exist, but to be honest, he's probably the one with the least hands on experience dealing with strange things here. Gandalf's pretty tough, but so are the other three.

I'm not sure, but I feel like AD and Gandalf are the perfect team to nullify Kirby's copy ability when it comes to the fluff ball absorbing opponents. Kirby would probably have to start off copying Yoda's abilities. I think this might simplify things for the wizards, they really only have to beat one opponent: Yoda. This is because Kirby will also be a Yoda clone, with similar powers the Wizards may be able to adapt a strategy to.
I don't want to say the Wizards handle team Fun Size easily. Yoda is definitely the peer of Gandalf and Dumbledore. I believe Kirby is defined as an "underdeveloped" star warrior at some point, hinting that he might be an immature strategist. I think that points to him being less adaptable to strategy and tactics in this battle. The raw power he absorbs from Yoda will not be enough in this battle and Kirby is in fact the weak link here.
I'd say vote for team Wizard Guide, but in only what could be called a very close contest.
Yoda's a badass but the wizards have ****tons more power, I think. Kirby's pretty much a non-factor, here, due to lack of magical ability. The wizards can keep their distance from him and make quick work.

And in SSMB, Kirby's range is not all that immense and can be avoided by the other player characters.
Are there any precedents set for Kirby trying to absorb an enemy that was too strong for him?
Also, he isn't a carbon copy of whatever he sucks in. He only copies a limited amount of the opponent's power (SSMB). I believe in the games (other than the SSMB series), when he sucks in an opponent, they are insta-gibbed. So is Kirby fighting here the limited range kirby, that only copies a small portion of enemy power, or op Kirby with insane range that instantly kills opponents when they enter him?
Can Kirby create helpers with absorbed powers? Does kirby have the power to copy enemy abilities just by scanning them? Kirby has so many incarnations, I'm confused to which one we are dealing with. I'm working under the assumption the incarnation we are dealing with is the SSMB Kirby.
Range
Apparition has a certain range. In Order of Phoenix, Lord Voldemort was seen by Harry Potter as flying towards Malfoy Manor, thinking to himself that he would soon be near enough to Apparate. This explains Voldemort's need to fly to locations to check on his Horcruxes, as he may have been out of his range to Apparate.
However it is more likely that there are anti-Apparition spells protecting those area, such as Nurmengard, which would have these spells because it is a prison.[2]
Apparition becomes increasingly difficult with the distance to be travelled. Inter-continental Apparition should only be attempted by the most highly skilled of wizards.[4]
Also force lightning?!! Seriously? That's as dark side as you can get in the star wars universe!
Voting Fun Size. Dumbledore carried by the elder wand. Yoda can easily strip him of it. Yoda can strip other strong force users of their light sabres, he can disarm Dumbledore with no problems.
Gandalf is like a warrior/mage. Except he stands no chance against either Yoda or Kirby in combat.
As I perceive this contest starting out it would appear to me most advantageous for Yoda to try and disarm Dumbledore with the force while Albus simultaneously trying to transfigure Yoda's lightsaber into a pile of dust.
To be completely objective here I do not believe anyone can claim that either Dumbledore or Yoda are faster in their hand eye coordination than the other and thus capable of trumping either one of themselves in this exercise. So for fairness sake I'll say they both succeed.
From there it comes down to Yoda being able to use telekinesis (I am assuming jedi mind tricks would not work on two seasoned veteran wizards), while Dumbledore can cast an assortment of spells.
These range as minor as cosmetic changes in the terrain to still being able to prevent fatal falls, set things on fire or repelling away foes.
I believe that Kirby would gain nothing from being able to absorb Dumbledore beyond those abilities himself. As in order to use most Harry Potter magic effectively one would need a wand, thus Yoda could not risk disarming Dumbledore if he wanted his pink marshmallowey friend to gain anything useful.
Not only that, but just the wand is not enough. Kirby could gain the potential to use Dumbledores magic, but he wouldn't be able to speak the words properly for any major incantation and without actual hands I'm not sure if he could master your typical flick of the wrist motions needed to even control the magic he's casting.
No, indeed, Kirby would benefit most from trying to absorb Gandalf! A verifiable angel of his realm uses powers are so broad they are as of yet undefined to their completion exactly the limits of what he can do.
Concussive blasts capable of destroying bridges made from tons of stone and iron. Sheens of light bright as the sun capable of blinding entire armies. Enough physical strength, endurance and dexterity to defeat the Balrog, which is the equivalent of defeating an Elder Demon from any other universe.
Aye, I believe if Kirby could absorb Gandalf, he would be able to use this untapped potential in powerful and potentially reckless ways.
However I remain unconvinced that Kirby could even do such a thing. As every side scrolling adventure I've ever witnessed of him did not have his inhaling ability have any sort of incredible range more than a few feet in front of him.

"But Faith is my Sword. Truth my Shield. Knowledge my Armor."
As I perceive this contest starting out it would appear to me most advantageous for Yoda to try and disarm Dumbledore with the force while Albus simultaneously trying to transfigure Yoda's lightsaber into a pile of dust.
Yoda does not need the lightsabre to use the force. While Dumbledore needs his wand for his magic. If they trade weapon disarm Yoda wins because Dumbledore will be defenceless while Yoda can still fight using the force and/or a branch.
Wandless and non-verbal magic: Albus could produce magic without the use of a wand, and was highly skilled at non-verbal magic. While some people, such as Antonin Dolohov, as seen during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries,[11] seemed to produce lesser magic when using it non-verbally, Dumbledore was capable of extraordinary feats such as conjuring hundreds of squishy purple sleeping bags to accommodate the students of Hogwarts, without saying a word.[14] While in the Horcrux cave, Dumbledore proved capable of foiling the defences set up by Lord Voldemort, using wandless magic. He also performed the Aresto Momentum spell, without a wand, to save Harry from falling to his death at the hands of the Dementors. He could also light and put out candles, both with the wave of his hand.[9]
Dumbledore does not need his wand for magic. Doctor Strange pointed this out in his post.
transfiguring the Slytherin banners in the Great Hall to that of Gryffindor's, saving Harry Potter from falling to his death during a Quidditch match (as well as extinguishing and re-igniting a candle), summoning the Champions' names from the Goblet of Fire (after dimming the Great Hall's light sources), repeatedly repelling Harry Potter back from his duel with Lord Voldemort, and (after again, dimming the lights in his office) setting a young Tom Riddle's wardrobe on fire respectively.

Notes:
How about the terrain? We know that Glen Elendra is home to a host of powerful magic, but at the same time isn’t that alien so that Kirby and Yoda wouldn’t be uncomfortable.
I think that two Yodas are already a lot for the Wizards to handle. Don’t forget that the match will likely begin that way. We’ll have two speedy überswordsmen going all out with one of the galaxy’s most powerful weapons at them.
For the record, this is Kirby with his standard powers (based mostly on our ideas about him through SSBM, but also his most recent games), but we’re not including his one-time game powers like multiplying himself or becoming a ping-pong ball, or any of his yarn powers.
I dont think Kirby and Yoda can keep up with the diversity of magic the Wizards have. Kirby's strength comes from being able to shrug off hits not in dodging... Paralysis spells are kind of hard to just "shrug off". Yoda on the other hand has a chance to block the magical attacks with his Lightsaber but... as we saw in the micro-mech match Dumbledore can easily cast a spell to transform the light saber into something else. Combine that with his ability to cast spells silently and yoda will be guessing on what he can block versus what he has to dodge. I also theorize that the sword of Gryffendor would be able to hold up in a fight with a lightsaber since it is described as being indestructible.
although, remember, that the second yoda is vastly reduced in powers and has no lightsaber.
I don't really understand how team fun size is in with a shot. Dumbledore has more - and more diverse - powers, which he can use over a fairly considerable range. He can also obviously teleport a hell of a long way - from hogwarts (a couple of hours inland from london) to the coast, at a minimum.
And if a lightsaber is essentially a beam of light, can he just use the deluminator on it?
Kirby he can turn to stone - I don't see the little pink guy having any defence against that.
And while I think gandalf is weaker, he's no slouch.

How well do you do against one?
But in this occasion...Kirby could copy Dumbledore BUT he doesnt have the creativity that Dumbledore has and he doesnt have any tactical background, which is the Wizards strong point and they'll be able to trap/defeat FS with a good prep-time, and I dont think Yoda/Kirby can make any good use of prep-time.

Dumbledore is MVP, of course. I think that, with proper planning, The wizards win this.

And Dumbledore can teleport at will against the laws of physics.
Whats stopping Dumbledore from teleporting behind kirby, outside of the suction area, and incapacitating him from there.
Also force lightning?!! Seriously? That's as dark side as you can get in the star wars universe!
Gandalf is like a warrior/mage. Except he stands no chance against either Yoda or Kirby in combat.
To be completely objective here I do not believe anyone can claim that either Dumbledore or Yoda are faster in their hand eye coordination than the other and thus capable of trumping either one of themselves in this exercise. So for fairness sake I'll say they both succeed.
From there it comes down to Yoda being able to use telekinesis (I am assuming jedi mind tricks would not work on two seasoned veteran wizards), while Dumbledore can cast an assortment of spells.
http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Wandless_spell
-Myself.
Yoda does not need the lightsabre to use the force. While Dumbledore needs his wand for his magic. If they trade weapon disarm Yoda wins because Dumbledore will be defenceless while Yoda can still fight using the force and/or a branch.
Dumbledore does not need his wand for magic. Doctor Strange pointed this out in his post.
Look, he can force push too.

EDIT: Poring - by CSK, you mean WG, right?
I like this argument.
