Current season favorite: Bells Oberon which is nice because its a local beer which is cheaper than Blue Moon but tastes better.
All time favorite: Grolsch, I first started liking beer when I made a concerted effort to start drinking it while in Italy. Grolsch was the beer on tap at the pub I would go to and it still is the number one beer in my heart. Sadly since it costs 6 dollars a bottle I have to only have it when I am willing to splurge.
PS any beer or scotch drinkers who find themselves in Ann Arbor Michigan we have an awesome bar right down the block from one of the LGS. Check out Ashleys where they have around 50 beers on tap, more in bottles and for those of you who like whisky a large selection.
Oberon is one of the ones I wish I could get down here. Thankfully, there are a ton of good beers in San Diego, which makes it considerably more bearable.
Ashley's is probably my favorite bar in the country. Ex-GF's family lives in Ann Arbor, so I used to go out there on a pretty regular basis and that was a regular stop.

I'll try it out but it will probably be at the end of August. The only reason why I don't drink often during the summer is because I like to stay hydrated since I'm exercising outdoors more. Beer just depletes my hydration and makes me uber tired.
I generally drink more beer during the end of summer, autumn, and winter seasons. Spring and most of the summer are my "off" times for drinking beer. Too many Corona/Bud Light plebians.

Secondly, I don't enjoy Australian beer that much. But the brands I had in Romania were awesome. One in particular, Ciuc, hit the spot. Boy did I get drunk on this a lot.

I have not found a beer that has tasted good. Tried a lot of the major brands, and a couple of non American. Still taste bad to me.
Good chance you may never like it. That said, I hated most beer when I was younger. But then again it was all American Macro beer and mass produced imports. Micro brewed beer is what made me love beer.

I have tried drinking it for years. Never liked it. I do like Vodka and Whiskey, but not beer. No real taste for me.

Beer has so many tastes you wouldn't believe it.
Go find a Monk's Cafe (Sour Ale) or a Clown Shoes Vampire Slayer or a Dogfish Head Burton Baton.
All have vastly different flavors. All beer and completely different.
Not saying you will like it, but it has definite flavor.
And how can you say beer has no real taste when mentioning Vodka. Vodka is distilled to have no scent or flavor.
Being from Florida, seek out some Cigar City Brewing beers. We can't get them here in Texas, but they make some incredible stuff!

I said no real taste for me. I know it has flavor, just it tastes tasteless to me. Vodka is mostly tasteless, but I like way it burns, and I like some of the things Vodka is paired with.

I still think if you tried the right one you'd find the taste.
Don't worry, I enjoy vodka too.

Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen is my current favorite. Magic Hat No. 9 and Tröegs Dreamweaver are my next choices (assuming I am in the taphouse of heaven). I'll settle for PBR, Yuengling, and Blue Moon. I will not drink any light or low calorie/carb beer because I do not care for the lack of taste and I exercise so weight isn't an issue. I also will not drink coffee or java flavored experimental beers because they are disgusting and remind me of what is commonly referred to as 'beer ****s'.
Boddingtons is excellent but only from a tap, Woodchuck cider isn't really beer in my book but it's my go-to for non-beer/non-liquor alcohol.
Then again.. Who needs beer when you have FourLoko?
Most stouts naturally have a coffee flavor to them, and Goose Island Bourbon County Barrel Coffee Stout is so damn good!
I had an Avery Uncle Jacob's Barrel Aged Imperial Stout last night. Was very very good. The barrel gave it good hint of bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Highly recommended!

Beer is beer! But if I can chose: Krombacher and Veltins. Now I want some...
Technically, but there is a huge rift between good beer and bad beer.
Glad this got bumped, it's been a while.
I'm taking a road trip to Chicago and South Michigan this week. Will be checking out Goose Island, 3 Floyds, and Founders on the trip. Should be bringing back a lot of beer on the drive back!
I had a great beer this weekend from Anchorage Brewing called Bitter Monk. It's a Belgian style IPA with Brett. Incredibly tasty.

After 5-6 beers you normally do not care about what beer you drink at all.
but yeah you are right. Wasting time because drinking bad beer is wasting time. Just saying.
Ok then I´ll be waiting right in front of your house DanzBorin. Just helping to empty the car!
Belgian beer is plain and simple in general awesome.
Belgians are hit and miss with me. I'm getting more into them, but usually the best are the Trappist beers and some of the stuff like Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen.

Well, I am from Slovakia Central EU and that seems rather convenient as I have access to most brands around.
The ones I simply prefer are Czech Pilsner Urquell which is really good. I have found the Belgium Hoegaarden rather refreshing though its more of a "summer beer" as the limmete flavor isnt for everybody and certailnly fits more in hot summer nights.
Recently I was in Duesseldorf Germany and I had the chance of tasting the regional Altbeer and if I understand correctly a direct competitor to the rival city of Cologne's brand koelsch. Sadly didnt tasted the koelsch but I would be happy if someopne from germany would elaborate

Do you have access to Cantillon? It's an acquired taste, but one we rarely get here in the US.
I also enjoy Evil Twin, Mikkeller, and Drie Fonteinen.
Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen make mostly wild ales. Open fermented beers that use airborne yeasts to give them a decidedly sour taste.
Evil Twin and Mikkeller both make a wide variety of styles. They are brothers and neither one has a brewery, they use other companies' facilities to brew.

Wow, just read the whole thread and no mention of my flavor of the last few months. I have really been enjoying Magic Hat No. 9 lately. It does have a little bit of a fruity aftertaste, so it is a little bit different than some of the harder Stouts and IPA's that are being suggested here.
I am from Syracuse, NY, where there are A LOT of available microbrews. Our local Wegman's grocery stores literally carry something like 500 different beers. They have the best option ever: Make your own 6-pack for $9.99. You can just take any six bottles and an empty sixpack box and build your own. My favorite beer is always one I haven't tasted before. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but you always get a new flavor experience.
In summation.....Star Trek wins a prolonged naval battle against superior, yet less technologically advanced, numbers, with Picard leading the assault, while Kirk takes your soul by laying out Solo and probably his manservant Chewy as well, before impregnating and ditching your Princess.
I have had quite a few Magic Hat offerings and didn't care for any of them.
If I saw them on tap or at a bottle share I'd give them a try, but based on track record, I won't buy them at the store.
I do know a lot of people do like the #9, but it tends to be people who drink Bud/Miller/Coors. It's like a gateway craft beer.
After looking at their website, I'd like to try their IPA series and Humdinger offerings, but I've never heard of the Humdinger in TX.
