Once the rumors moved here, I started coming here as well, though I just lurked here for months, and had always lurked at MTGNews. Well times have changed in 5 years.
Of course I can go look back and reminisce about Saviors of Kamigawa spoiler season and view the posts as it dawned on people that a set worse than Homelands may have just been printed.
Came over January 5th, 2005. Not sure why I came 4 days later.
At some point I found mafia, and pretty much only post there now. Not having the time to play magic probably contributed to that.

Lies! -I'm Buffy Summers, town tracker. I used my ability on you and saw that you didn't use any abilities before the game started. My flavor is I was sucked through a mysterious space-time portal and I'm here to kill all the vampires, and my tracking ability is a combination of my Slayer and Native American skills.
Because I was purely on MTGnews for mafia, I actually didn't notice a thing for quite a while until people started vacating mafia games en masse and I asked someone where everyone went (then I lurked for a while to get an idea of the game style here, then finally registered in August... so I guess for me it's still only 4 and a 1/2 years later).
Cheaters!
I joined five days after the first day! Appropriate, I guess, on the fifth-year anniversary. I wonder how any f us there are from January.

my mouth is full of winsome lies -
and eyes are full of death besides
but luckily the soul is wise -
it sees beyond my blindness and
forced failure makes a better guise,
so as i come again alive,
it feels like life's a decent plan
pfffft... I can't believe its been five years. I can't even remember why I moved here from News, but I feel like it was the custom card creation, or I was dissatisfied with the way rumors were moving over there. I dunno, something happened, and a great wave of apathy seemed to sweep over that site.
Love it here though

Fifth day. I'm not particularly beholden to one side or the other, but went where the spoilers went. FYI I still posted at news for some time, mostly because some members banned here were still posting there.

Active till around the end of 2009 then went to lurker only. Now... Very rarely post unless something interests me or I intended to offer some words.
yeah - obviously I disagree with you, John. Spam Warning!.....Amazing - even in a forum where posts don't count, there's spam. That proves that getting rid of the post-count won't help getting rid of spam! Thans for this excellent example! - Craven
I was also on MTGNews for several years before the switcheroo, so yeah, I might have .5K posts over there (I only poke my head over there every couple of months, rather than weekly like here.)
If you don't know me, I mostly post in the Custom Card forum.
Happy belated 5th MTGSalvation! Thanks to all the great posters, mods, and admins that make it the best M:TG place in all the internets.

Edit: Nevermind, I thought I was Nov 2005 *steps slowly away*

I was just frequenting MtGNews in oblivious fashion. Apparently I just wasn't in the 'in crowd' or something.

It's weird, but it feels like more than 5 years for me. Probably because I was active in MTGNews (especially in the Custom Cards Forums) previously.
