OOC: Will do, but this forum doesn't let me know my result until I post (and editing the post changes it).
Trish yelped and jumped back as the Croagunk landed a direct hit on her t-shirt. Pokemon attacking humans? How dare it? She turned to look at Houndour, who was furiously swinging her head back and forth, trying to shake off the mud that had spattered on her nose and one eye.
"Houndour! Snap out of it, and let's get 'im!"
The pup responded to her master's call, and tilted her head back in a Howl at the moon to call forth hidden reserves of strength.
OOC: Sorry for the late update. School just started back up and I have been busy
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Marr: Marr sneaks up closer to the engagement, and his pokedex beeps.
Croagunk, the Toxic Mouth Pokémon. Croagunk has poison in its cheeks and can spray poison from its fingertips. It also makes noise by expanding its poison sac.
Marr also sees the Croagunk throw mud at the girl and her pokemon. The girl starts screaming at the frog pokemon.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Jenesis: Houndour lets out a loud howl in front of the Croagunk. The Croagunk is startled by this, giving Trish time to plan her next move, or keep wiping the mud off her clothes.

@Jenesis: As houdour winded up to release it's flam attack, a small round ghost pokemon suddenly appeared in front of the frog pokemon. The shock of the events in front of it caused it not to have enough time to dodge the incoming attack from Houdour, taking it full force. It looks burned, and jumps back a couple of feet into the marsh to cool off. It glares at the pokemon attacking it, but doesn't do anything aggressive as of yet.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Marr: Read above for the current events. The girl looks confused, but doesn't notice you, yet.

Houndour looked between the Croagunk and her new opponent warily.
"Hmm..." Trish pondered the situation. That frog is cooling off in the mud. If I send Houndour running over there, she'll just get smacked again and have a hard time attacking. But we can't turn our backs on it, either...
"I've got it! Houndour, use Leer attack on both of them!"
Houndour's eyes glowed red as it glared at the other two Pokemon.
Trish turned, startled, and recognized the trainer she had seen earlier. "Who-who are you and why are you gettin' in the way? I saw that Pokemon first!"
"Sure, I'll battle you, as soon as we find someplace less...mucky. You'll be a good warm-up for the Osiers Town Gym Leader. My name's Trish, by the way."
@Jenesis: The pokeball wriggles in the mud for a few seconds, and pings.
Male. Moveset: Astonish, Mudslap, Poison Sting
You may choose to walk over at any time you are ready. The pokeball is in the middle of the marshland.

Trish and Marr follow the path through the marsh. Up ahead they see what looks to be a clearing. In the clearing there is a small firepit and a bench, and open area just big enough for a small pokemon battle.
@Marr: Ghastly spots a small... something.... on the other side of the clearing as it is exploring.

Marr walks over to where Ghastly is. Initially, he sees nothing, but a quick look into a patch of reeds reveals a small blue pokemon sleeping. How ghastly saw that from so far away escaped Marr, but whatever.

The people that play legacy / vintage always amuse me. They want their formats to be represented more. They want more tournaments. But when anyone suggests allowing more people access to the formats by reprinting cards, the same people start screaming about the reprint policy.
Trish sat on the grass, still tending the fire, and Houndour lay nearby. The soreness in Houndour's limbs was fading little by little as she absorbed heat.
OOC: Trish will continually pass priority until Marr has a response to her challenge, or until something else tries to affect her or Houndour.
Mudkip, the Mud Fish Pokémon. Mudkip uses the sensitive fin on its head to take radar readings off its surroundings.
The mudkip stirs as the pokedex reads the information to marr. It looks up to see him. It looks confused.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Jenesis: As Trish sits on the bench tending to the fire, a small bird perches on the other side of it. It picks at crumbs of leftover food probably left from the previous party to stop here. It doesn't pay any attention to Trish.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@dizzle: Lime walks down the path, and sees a person in the marshland to the right of the path, with a fishing net, looking very attentive. The person isn't paying attention to Lime yet, since he is "buried" in his work.

"Mudkip?" said Trish. She walked over, looked at the cute blue Pokemon, and shrugged. "It looks pretty weak, let's just leave it be. Now you want a battle or not?"
Just for reference, she pulled out her Pokedex and checked the bird Pokemon on the bench.
Pokedex reading: Starly, the Starling Pokémon. Starly normally travels in a flock, but when alone, it is hard to notice.
The starly is still there eating crumbs. It noticed Trish for a second when the pokedex pinged, but didn't move away. As Trish walked to see the mudkip, the starly flinched, but then went back to eating. As Trish approached the mudkip, the sound of the two pokemon trainers awoke the mudkip. Slightly scared, it ran away into the bushes.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Marr: Ghastly is pumped.

OOC: Since this battle is between two players, you don't need to wait for me to update on the situation. I may randomly chime in on events, though. Also, it's morning, and the sun is now out.
@Jenesis: You guys have been out and walking for quite a while. Also, it is summer, and the sun rises at 6 in the morning. Needless to say, you guys are tired. Your pokemon aren't as much, however. You guys should probably rest when you get to the next town however.

Neither Trish nor Houndour can sense where the Gastly is. Houndour's ears are on full alert, straining to hear the Gastly if it makes the slightest sound.
Houndour takes a thump to the head and rolls backward a good distance. The attack isn't very strong, but it is disorientating. Slowly, she picks herself up and blinks a few times to regain her bearings.
OOC: If Houndour can still see the Gastly at this point, she will use Ember.
