My Map of Risin and My Brief History of Risin. (Along with your cities)
Marcus Risin is a hero. He was a Pokemon Trainer who lost in the Kanto Pokemon League. Determined that he was better than that, he set off for the region of Johto. He was on a large cruise ship when he thought he saw a pokemon in the water. He claimed it to be a giant, translucent purple serpent. The water around it sparkled as if it was ice, but it was not. It was late at night, so he called forth his Lapras and jumped into the water after the mysterious serpent. It disappeared into the water. By some unknown circumstances, he would up waking up on a deserted island next to this serpent. However, he soon realized that it was no small deserted island. An entire new world stood in front of him…
1. Livian Town: The first town that was colonized was Livian Town. Livian Town was the beach on which Marcus Risin originally landed on when he first found himself here. He returned to Kanto and many interested people came to colonize the new world. Livian is Risin’s connection to the outside world. All ships coming from another nation come to Risin through Livian’s expansive port. This makes Livian one of the more bustling areas on the west coast. However, away from the pier, the town is rather quiet. Few people stay in Livian; they simply use it to pass through. Therefore, the town part of Livian is rather quaint and pleasant. Many new trainers choose to start their adventures by taking on the Risin Pokemon League, and this is the first stop for those trainers. Most locals are rather warm and welcoming to neophyte trainers and love to give them pointers or teach them the basics. Professor Willow epitomizes this attitude. He has a smaller lab in the town and keeps his doors open to all trainers to help them along. His mission is to fill up a pokedex, so he gives them out to new trainers so that they can help him with his ultimate goal.
2. Juniper Town (Or as you called it Aster Town): Juniper Town is a much smaller town than either of its neighbors: Livain or Allium. Therefore, this town becomes more of a town to pass through, but it is rather quaint and from this location people can communte to either of the large towns. It is a pleasant place to live, free from city live. No matter now complicated their lives are, most people here seem to live a basic lifestyle so these people are generally pleasant to deal with. Also, the town is filled with lovely gardens. These gardens are often home to pokemon tournaments where aspiring trainers on their way to Allium town can test their skills. When the Pasque Railroad was built, the original design had it starting in Juniper town. The thought was that it would bring life to the city and extend the Railroad to the sea. The people of Juniper refused the design as it threatened their way of life.
3. Allium City: Allium City was the third colony founded in Risin. A group of trainers left Juniper town exploring and found a plethora of wild Pokemon along Route 2. As they continued down the Route, they found an open area near a river, which was developed and quickly became Allium City. A Pokemon gym was set up in Allium City, but Risin did not even have a Pokemon League yet. The local gym was originally part of the Johto Pokemon League. This gym brought multiple trainers to Risin and eventually led to the formation of the Risin Pokemon League. This gym is known to be the first stop for Pokemon trainers who start from Livian City. Although it still has a rural feel, it is a rather populated city with a lot going on.
4. Foxglove River: The Foxglove River leads from the north ocean and passes through Allium town. Its mouth is at a large bay near what is now Madder City. There is a very narrow path to walk beside the river to travel between the two cities, but it is a rather long walk. Most people take the ferry. The ferry boat is a huge cruise like ship that carries people between the two cities. The owner of the ferry is a certified gym leader, and he accepts challenges from his passangers.
5. Primrose City: Due to the forestation to the south of Livian, most settlers believed it would be easier to find land to the west and it would be easier to travel to the west. However, upon closer examination, people who tried found the path quite pleasant. The route leading from Livian to Primrose is a rather peaceful walk and the route is filled with berry trees. It passes through Floria Forest, which is a rather serene forest that surrounds the picturesque Lake Verain. The sun shines through the forest on the lake causing it to sparkle with beauty. Many Pokemon coordinators find this route a great one to travel with their Pokemon as it is said the cool ambiance of the area can relax a Pokemon and draw it closer to its owner. Naturally, Primrose city is a Pokemon contest Hotspot. Primrose hosts three contests halls, where most other cities don’t have more than one. The entire town focuses on the contests. It is a fairly well populated city as well, but it is still rather rural in its way of life.
6. Statice Town: South of Allium City, a much smaller town was founded. This town became a trading center for people in Old Risin, due to its central location in the region. Due to this, when the Pasque Railroad was built, the builder decided it should travel right through this city. However, other New Risin cities such as Madder City and Polemonium City became more popular trading spots. Shortly after, nearby train stations eliminated the need or this city. People moved out and the town is now completely abandoned.
7. Osiers City: Osiers was founded by a group of settler simply trying to find work and a home. Using the local soil, early settlers in the area quickly became quite good farmers. Once this land was discovered, people flocked from all over and made a small town here. Scientists have proven that Osiers city was once the lushest parts of the region. The west side of the city proves this. Farmers cultivate this ground which provides a large fraction of the vegetation for the entire continent. However, due to the impact of the Acacia Crater, the eastern side of Osiers City has slowly been turning into swampland. The destruction of the ground spreads more quickly every year which has been slowly destroying the farmland. Although most of the land remains fertile, most farmers fear the growing swampland to the east. Some people are beginning to learn to take advantage of this swampland. Osiers City is a quaint and rural place to live.
Note: All the Routes that leave Osiers to the south are known for having extreme vegetation. Branches and weeds grow at an alarming rate throughout the Route. It is unwise to travel these routes without a Pokemon that can use Cut. Fortunately, many citizens of Osiers have access to this HM. The gym leader will let anyone who beats him use his HM for Cut, and most farmers will let you us their HM if you help them out.
8. Bryony City: On the southwestern end of Risin there is a large mountain range. Explorers who headed south of Primrose city game up on moving further south once they came across the vast range of mountains and they settled a town here. Bryony City is on the opposite end of the continent from the Pasque Railroad, so it is rather isolated from the rest of Risin. The city supports a rather rugged style of life and is home to many hikers. Most of the rest of Risin forgets about Bryony, although some more outdoors and adventurous types consider it a vacation spot. Many trainers see the mountains as a challenge. They use hiking to the top of one of the mountains as a way to test their abilities as a trainer. There are many wild Pokemon in the range of mountains and valleys as well, making them the perfect spot to train.
9. Cliff Overhang: While there is not a gym in Bryony City, the trainers urge to test their skills does not go unanswered. Near one of the mountains, there is a large stone roof that hangs over a large area. This area hosts an entirely different ecosystem. It is shady, cool, and moist, and it is covered is moss and fungus. A gym leader makes this area his training grounds. He spends his time meditating here, so this area also became his gym. (Note: I could not justify people living in a place like this, and a town here never made much sense to me. I have kept the area, but it is only an ecosystem and a gym. The city that would have been here became Bryony city)
10. Succory City: The southern coastline is not a pleasant place to live. The area is rocky. There are no beaches, and the waves constantly beat against the shores. The temperatures are always hot and muggy. However, people, in an attempt to cross “The Impassable Line” settled in Succory City. Fieldrush Forest, directly to the west, is the complete opposite of Floria Forest near Livian. While Floria is pleasant and picturesque, Fieldrush is filled with swarms of bugs; it hot and muggy. It is a very dense forest and you would need to cut many branches down to make a path to the other side. There are also many poisonous plants in the Forest. However, there are many unique plants in the Forest. Intellectuals and scientists use Succory as a home to study the many specimen found only in the forest and conduct their research. Much medical advancement has come out of the research done in Succory City. Also, the nearby Acacia crater wastelands and Wildlife Center also provide ample opportunities for research. Not too many people live here that don’t work here due to the undesirable conditions. It is a quaint combination of houses and labs and a few other buildings. It is very rural.
11. There is a large Ranger HQ between Succory, Bryony, Osiers, and Primrose.
12. “The Impassable Line”: East of Allium, Osiers, and Statice, no people could continue to explore. The areas directly east became known as “The Impassable Line”. People would get lost in the brush to the north, no one could make it through Milfoil Cave, the Acacia crater could not be passed, and Fieldrush Forest was left alone due to its unbearable conditions and swarms of bug Pokemon. Ordinary citizens chose not to attempt to go through one of these obstacles, accepted this imaginary line as Risin’s eastern boundary, and settled in one of the nearby towns.
13. Acacia Crater: There is a large hole in the ground of Risin known as the Acacia crater. It is rumored that a meteor struck the earth many millions of years ago creating this blemish in the Risin countryside. Some scientists from Succory City have related meteor fragments found near the crater directly to the Pokemon Deoxys. Outside the crater is a large wasteland. This area might have once been a lush part of the Fieldrush Forest, but when the meteor hit, decay and possibly radiation spread. Certain Pokemon make the wastelands their home. Also, the crater blasted a giant hole in Milfoil Cave.
14. Milfoil Cave: Milfoil Cave is a rather treacherous looking cave. No one would wind up here by accident. It is very dark and hard to travel through it. Some Pokemon trainers like to take the risk, but no one has ever come out on the other side. Most give up and simply come back the way they came. To the south, there is a big hole in the cave, which was left by the Acacia Crater. This part of the cave is wide open and light shines in to it, but the light quickly fades away as people enter the darkness. Most of the figures that enter Milfoil Cave are quite shady, but they still always come out the same way they came in.
15. Privet “Town”: Privet Town is not actually a town. Milfoil Cave is in fact one large circle which is why everyone always exits the way they entered. However, if you come out in the middle, there is a large empty space. It is called Privet Town by those you know about it, but no one lives there and it isn’t really a town. However, all Teams (Aqua, Magma, Rocket, etc.) come to use it as a base of operations and come here as a place to escape the sight of the rangers. Grunts are not told about this space because they are not trusted, but if a crook were to find this place, they could easily find work.
16. Madder City: Madder City was the last Old Risin city and the first New Risin City. People found a passage traveled down the Foxglove River and settled a city at its base to the east of Milfoil Cave and to the east of The Impassable Line. However, since few people lived to the east, no one really had any desire to go to Madder City. It became a city for explorers. People came to Madder City with only one goal in mind: to travel west and find new land. Few people stayed in the city, so it really only consisted of a few lodges. That has changed. When the Pasque Railroad was built, Madder City was the headquarters for that project due mainly to its central location along the railroad and its proximity to Milfoil Cave. The city has become much more of an industrial hotspot as one of the main spots on the Railroad. Many people from Allium take the ferry down the Foxglove River and get on the train here. Madder City is also the center of the Risin police force.
17. The Pasque Railroad, “Old Risin”, and “New Risin”: “Old Risin” has become the slang term for all the cities formed west of the Pasque Railroad (Livian, Juniper, Allium, Statice, Primrose, Osiers, Bryony, and Succory). These cities were formed before the Pasque Railroad. Therefore, they are generally less industrial and more rural and quaint. Most people walk in “Old Risin”. The Pasque railroad passed the impassable line by going through an underground tunnel underneath Milfoil Cave. The Railroad spreads throughout Risin, traveling all the way from “Old Risin” to the eastern coast of the mainland. The Railroad doubled made Risin much more industrial, allowed it to get from one coast to the other, transport its goods, and begin to trade with other nations. It allowed Risin to finally form its own Pokemon League chapter. It truly changed Risin, and some citizens of “Old Risin” despise it for this. “New Risin” is the slang term for all the cities east of the Pasque Railroad (Madder, Polemonium, Cypress, Piper…). These cities are much more industrial. They are covered with skyscrapers and everything is paved. They are all much more urban and focused on business.
18. Piper City: Piper City is located within the Acacia Crater. Over the years, the Acacia Crater has filled up with fresh rainwater, making it into a giant reservoir. Due proximity to the Pasque Railroad, which allows the water to be spread throughout the region, this water quickly became the main water source for the region. Most non-port towns rely completely on this water. Due to its importance, a town was built above the water in the middle of this reservoir. This town has grown to become a rather large city. Some think it would be unpleasant to live here, but local citizens don’t seem to mind. Also, some consider it a tourist attraction. Throughout the city is a massive pipeline. Pipes of all sizes literally cover the city. They run along the ground, under the ground, above the ground, and they are sticking out of almost every building. The pipe system allows the water to be purified and channeled throughout the city and outside the city. Water is also used for energy in Piper City. Hydrol, the water-electricity company, has its headquarters here.
19. Pinago Town:
20. The Reality Shrine. See Mythology of Risin (Soon to come)
21. The Brush: North of the Pasque Railroad lies the Brushland of Risin.
22. Icthus Town:
23. Kalypso City:
24. Polemonium City: Most people consider Polemonium City the capital of Risin, or at least New Risin. Polemonium is at the junction in the Paqsue Railroad. From Polemonium, if you head east you get to Old Risin, if you head northwest you get to the Ranger’s main HQ, and if you head southwest you arrive at Cypress Port. The city is the extreme epitome of a New Risin city. People are always busy and often unpleasant to deal with. They’re not mean, just preoccupied. The town is filled with large, executive looking buildings and has a small contamination problem. Polemonium City never sleeps. People always seem to be slaving away at their jobs, or enjoying a night out on the town. It is simply a large urban metropolis.
25. Wildlife Preserves:
26. Ranger HQ:
27. Snowdrop River:
28. Icepan Island:
29. Cypress Port (or Newbloom Bay, as you cal it): Cypress port is at the southeastern tip of the mainland region. Cypress is the second port city of Risin. While Livian is focused on linking Risin to the other regions, Cypress only connects Risin to the nearby islands. Due to location, it is much easier to come to Livian from another region than it is to Cypress, so foreigners are rarely seen here. However, boats that go to islands of other Risin locations only leave from here. There is a ferry from Cypress to Livian, but due to the extreme crowdedness of the Livian Docks, there is no return trip. It is easier to get from Livian to Cypress using the Pasque Railroad anyway. You can easily get a boat to Mezereon Island, Corriander Island, Ixia Island, and Everlasting Island from here. Since Cypress is on the Pasque Railroad, many exports leave from the Cypress Port, which make it a pretty big spot for traders and businessmen. Cypress is a New Risin city, so it is quite urban and well developed. It sees a big boom of trainers headed to Everlasting Island right before the Pokemon League and Grand Festival. Cypress is surrounded by large rock formations, so it is quite difficult to walk to Cypress, which makes the Pasque Railroad crowded for its last stop. Cypress was the last mainland city to be settled.
30. Mezereon Island: Mezereon Island is an island to the south. The entire island is a desert. Near the docks, there is a small town for tourists with a city essentials and even a pokemon gym. The rest of the island is a desert. It is impossible to map it correctly because no one knows its true size. Many trainers choose to walk into the desert, but few trainers last more than a day before ending back up at the dock. There is wild speculation about what is in the center of the Mezereon. No one truly knows.
31. Corriander Island: When Marcus Risin first came to the mainland region, it was completely uninhabited, except for by Pokemon. Corriander Island is the exception to this rule. People have been settled in Corriander Island for as long as the locals can remember. Corriander is extremely primitive, with no development. Commonplace building such as Pokemon Centers, Marts, and Contest Halls do not appear here. They natives accept visitors, but they obviously dislike them. They prefer to live in solitude from the mainland settlers. Few people have any reasons to go to Corriander, so the natives usually get their wish. Mainlanders won’t be welcomed in Corriander with open arms. The natives are a deeply spiritual people who live together with Pokemon. They live peacefully on their land. They will die before they give Corriander Island to the rest of the region. It does not identify as a part of Risin.
32. Ixia Island: Ixia Island is often called “The gym leader’s paradise.” Ixia holds over 20 gyms of various difficulties and types. Almost all current mainland gym leaders started off at Ixia Island. As the time of the Pokemon League competition nears, people frantically come to Ixia Island in an attempt to get those last few badges they need to participate. Other trainers come to train and test their skills against different challenges. However, skilled trainers are biased against badges from Ixia Island. They do not consider them to be real badges. However, all the gyms on Ixia Island are Pokemon League certified, and all the gym leaders have passed the qualification exam. Historically, the amount of Ixia badges you use to enter is Pokemon League is inversely proportional to how well you do in the competition. Most trainers tend to like getting badges elsewhere on their travels.
33. Everlasting Island: This is the home of the Pokemon League competition. In all honesty, there is nothing else here. During the rest of the year, some trainers can be found here, but it isn’t really anything special when the battle coliseum is closed. No one really lives here. During the competition, however, it is packed. An innumerable amount of vendors set up shop and it transforms from an empty island into a bustling community. Fans from all over the region, and maybe even the world, come of to watch this event. The Grand Festival is also held here, and it draws in a similar crowd.
34. Sarve’s Island: No ferries go to Sarve’s Island since very few people know about it. It is far to the northwest of Everlasting Island and it is a very small island. If Sarve approaches you after the Pokemon League Tournament, he will give you a map to his island. You must Surf (and maybe use Whirlpool) on a Pokemon to get there. Upon arriving, you will not be admitted any further without 8 gold bordered badges. Along the walls of the main dock are multiple small phrases engraved in the stone. (See Sarve’s gyms-Soon to come)
35. Tritoma Islands:
The little pink dots mark places where I kind of want to place more cities, but I am all out of city ideas.
Normal Gym Locations: Allium, Foxglove River, Polemonium, Osiers, Cliff Overhang, Succory, Pinago, Piper, Cypress, Icepan, Ixia*, Mezereon Dock
Sarve Gym locations (More info on these to come):
Statice, Lake Verain, Mezereon, Corriander, Ixia, Firefly Forest, Tritoma
Notes: Yes, my region is in the northern hemisphere. Please don't complain about this.
Magma can start off "ruling" the top of Risin, the Australian-y part with the Brush, and Aqua'll rule the bottom part that's similar to Canada. Almost like an East-Side/West-Side thing.
Again, I think we need to make some quick desicions about this game, because I think everyone wants it to get started ASAP. I think making a map of Risin should become very high on our list of priorities, because I think we need to do it to get the game started. I posted mine in the first post, but it sounds like you have some ideas, so post away.
Look, we can't do anything without the subforums, so we're waiting. And me and Daft have already gotten a lot sorted out already. Including towns. We've already made 9 towns. It's going to throw off our rhythm severely if we have to reconsider this and make it all agreed upon and discussed.
However, the shape of that map is perfect. The shape of the map. Not the map.
The half-farm half-marsh town. Farmers are very successful but experience problems because of the swamp creeping into their farmland. People are taking advantage of both the fertile land and the destructive swampland. There's a gym here. Osiers Town.
A town that lies near a mountain on a path into a dark cave to get through said mountain. There's a stone roof overhang over the town that curls from the backside of the town all the way over the top. It's very shady and cool here, and a lot of moss and mushrooms grow on things. There's a Ranger HQ here. Concave Cliff Settlement. (BTW, this is on the outskirts of the brush in the north.)
Livian Port is a seaside town very big on boating. A ferry comes in every so often, and over 100 boats come in every day. There's a lot to do here at this Slateport-esque town. The air is really fresh, and the people are friendly. There's a gym here, along with a Black Market.
Aster Town is your typical 2nd-ingame-city kind of town. It's got a Pokemon Lab, a mart, a center, a contest hall, and that's about it. It's known for its gardens and friendly people.
On the very southern end of Risin lies this town. Settled on top of a massive ice berg about six miles from shore, there had to be a bridge built to get to it. It's rather slippery, and there is no vegetation, just steep ice mounds. The actual town is on a completely flat part of the iceberg. Pokemon of all varieties call this iceberg home, so it's not completely lifeless. Just unusual. There's a gym here and a museum. Icepan Island.
It's like a big huge hole was blasted out of the ground, like a crater. This hole is a really amazing water source. Naturally people built a town inside of it because water has so many uses. they built pipes sticking out of the sides of the "crater" and built a massive pipesystem pretty much. this allowed them to beging channeling the water, so they could use it to their advantage. There's a gym here, along with a Hydroelectricity plant, a mart, and a center. Not many people live here though. It's in the dead center of the region, and since there are hardly any lakes in the center of the region to draw water from, it's really just the port towns and towns really close to the ocean that have good water. This town therefore plays a very important role in providing good water to Risin, and if it were captured, who knows what would happen. The name of the water-energy company is Hydrol, and it's headquarters is located here. (Note: Literally, pipes are everywhere in this town. They vary in sizes. They run underground, directly above the ground, in the air, through buildings -- water is THE main source of energy here. They run all under Risin, and all come back to the earth beneath this town and Hydrol's headquarters.) There's a gym here. Piper City.
Kalypso City is well known for its music and festivals. It's a very big town, with the largest Pokemon Mart in the region. However, it's in a very weird location: in the middle of dry brushland. It's very unusual to make your way across the brushland and see a thriving metropolis on the horizon. The city tries very hard not to harm this brushland as more and more people move here and cause more and more houses and buildings to go up, expanding on the city limits. The brush around Kalypso is actually where Chatot come to mate each year. There isn't a gym here, but there are always activities for trainers and other Pokemon enthusiasts to take part in. It's just a very fun atmosphere to get involved in. The region's Main Ranger Headquarters is located here.
Newbloom Bay is the other major port town on Risin, and is where the Livian Ferry makes its stop. It's located on the eastern side of Risin, directly in the center of the coastline. The location was the absolute perfect place to build a city, except there were very, very huge rocks (they aren't necessarily mountains.) that prevented the city from being built like a circle or square, as most cities are. It had to be built in a rectangular fashion on the shore. (It's not built on sand though.) There's a fisherman located in the town that will trade you rare items if you bring him shells from the beach. There are only two ways to get to Newbloom -- take the Livian Ferry or go around the line of rocks, which'll put about another three or four miles on your legs. If you're near Livian and wishing to get over on the opposite side of the region, the ferry is a must-take. It's going to take a while to get where you're going, but it will be the most efficient way of travel. The city's not very large, but has an open-air market, a mart, and a contest hall. It also has a hotel that's shaped like a palm tree, which is known as the Pokepalms Resort. It's a big trainer hotspot come Pokemon League championships, as the ferry to the island where it's held departs from and only from Newbloom.
This town is located on the west side of Risin just before you reach the Brush. It's about 100 miles from Livian. Not many people live here, and the town itself is pretty small, but there are over five acres of berry trees located here. So, to say the least, berries are this town's main export. The Safari Zone is located about two miles away in the Risin Brush. The Safari Zone is also about a mile away from another city located in the Brush. Icthus Town.
A town built on stilts in the ocean. A gym isn't located on the stilts part of town but rather on the land before the bridge that takes you to the stilt houses. You have to take a bridge to get to the stilts. The town's sort of isolated. The route leading to it turns into a forest, and beyond that forest there's no more civilization. The people have a very simple way of life, and usually get great breezy weather. It's way up north, as far north past the brush as you can go. Pinago Town

I also built this map with Makorandy's Job system in mind, becasue if you look all the jobs have a central city. By the way, in Pokemon, they alway name all their cities after something. In Kanto it was colors, I don't remember what the other ones are. All my cities are named after flowers, and I personally like that touch, but whether or not could be debated.
Rewriting the map to fit your cities. I intentionally left about 7 cities blank (the ones I refered to as "New Risin") so I'll add things in...will edit when I finish......
Also, if you are going to make desicions without me (which I would prefer not to happen too much), just know that I might not support all of them.

Even so we are going with our cities sorry, we do need more but we certainly won't be using all of yours. I want there to be far more cities than there are in any of the games because there are just far too few.
Additionally look at D/P/Pt, there is no naming convention I can see besides faint references to stones in 65% of them.
Additionally despite what Froxy said the map does not work, we have one city that is supposed to be a large glacier which needs to be at the southern end of the world, whilst we also have a tropical city which needs to be to the north.
Livian Port was to have bay and be on the west side of the map slightly to the north of center.
Working on it now to try to compromise. My questions are why does the Iceburg city have to be to the south, why does the tropical city have to the north, and why does Livian have to be to the Northwest?
With my name thing I am just renaming some of the cities
The tropical and Iceberg are important because of where the continent is located on the planet which is the southern hemisphere, far south, therefore the ice city needs to be south and the tropical one needs to be north for it to work.

If we're using any of VJ's ideas, I think it'd be the railroad that can be located in the Brush (I think that's a fantastic idea actually), and maybe the wildlife preserves, except more like a Safari Zone you can't catch stuff in, and maybe a Ranger HQ can be there. It's not a place strictly for rangers or whatever. I don't know for sure if the town ideas are going to work.
Anyway, the class system does not exist on the same level Makorany had it. It exists, but there aren't all those secondary career things. You're a trainer, or a breeder, or a ranger, etc. However, if you're a trainer, you can be apart of contests. Randy made it seem like you couldn't. Stuff like that. You can do whatever you want, you're not limited and it's not necessarily a Role-Playing Console sort of game. Basically, we're toning it down.
My map is almost done, I've got the basic shape and all. I'll plug in cities probably tomorrow.
About Frox: for nearly 10 years, Frox has been helping women look good and feel great in easy-fit, mix-and-match, and work-to-weekend with just a few pieces by helping them make the right choices when it comes to clothing and accessories.
All right. We cna compare our two maps and compromise somewhere along the line. I'm about 3/4 of the way done. This is really an exhaustive task. Since you guys asked for me to add nine of your cities to my map, I am going to ask the same. These are places from my map that I really want to keep.
"Old Risin" and "New Risin": Risin is a large nation. When Risin was first founded, people entered the region from the West side at Livian port. The first few cities were rather quaint, and gyms and contest centers simply became part of another region's league. However, the government made a daring move to built the Pasque Railroad. The Pasque Railroad extends all the way from Juniper City (or Aster Town, as you call it) to Cypress Port (or Newbloom Town, as you call it). The East side of Risin is completly controlled by the Railroad. Other big cities cover the Railroad and the east side of the region is all linked to the Railroad. The Railroad caused the economy of the region to explode, allowing Risin to create its own pokemon league and build other large cities. Due to this "Old Risin" and "New Risin" are very diferent, even though they are in the same region.
Madder City: It is an Old Risin city that the Railroad was built through. Now it is the perfect example of a New Risin city. An extreme metropolis.
Mezereon Island: A completly desert Island. On the port of the island, there is a very small town. It is rumored that there is a pokemon gym in the center of the island.
Corriander Island: As I said, Risin was settled by people. Beforehand, the entire nation was empty, except for Corriander Island. Corriander Island is an extremely primative place. The natives accept visitors from the mainland, but they obviously don't enjoy them. Most mainlanders choose not to visit Corriander Island. There are no pokemon centers, stores, gyms, ranger HQs, or anything modern here.
Ixia Island: A gym leader’s paradise. You need at least 5 gym badges to come to Ixia island. It is a wonderful place to train for the pokemon league. Trainers that are strong, but not strong enough make gyms here and there is nearly unlimited space. While they are league certified, many people look down on them as fake gyms.
Foxglove River: Foxglove River is a river that leads from one town to another. It is also Route 13. It has a very, very narrow walkable path, but most people choose to take the ferry. The ferry takes a day to get to the city. On the ferry, there is a gym leader.
Finally, we have suggest many wierd cities. Cities on glaciers, on the ocean, in a crater, etc. The game really needs some normal cities in Old and New Risin.
Oh, and of what you said about the Brush and the RR, I put the Brushland near the RR, but I feel like it really wouldn't go through the brush. It is much more of an industrial Railroad with multiple tracks and trains that is surrounded by buildings and cities. We could change it, but it has to be the difference between Old and New Risin. It needs to be significant enough to cause an economic boom.
Oh, and one more thing I want to make sure the map has. In my map, there are multilpe Routes you can take. I think we need to give people a choice from the start.
PS: In my map, Cold is north and hot is south b/c of my desert island. The brushland is near the middle and kind of north, but it can snow in a brush, or at least in part of it...I think
PPS:
Anyway, the class system does not exist on the same level Makorany had it. It exists, but there aren't all those secondary career things. You're a trainer, or a breeder, or a ranger, etc. However, if you're a trainer, you can be apart of contests. Randy made it seem like you couldn't. Stuff like that. You can do whatever you want, you're not limited and it's not necessarily a Role-Playing Console sort of game. Basically, we're toning it down.
(wow this post is getting long) I never got the sense that you were limited by your job. I always felt like a Trainer could still be in an Olympiad, or get a breeding license, etc. I think we should keep the whole system he had, but just make sure to put a disclaimer: "Just because you choose one job doesn't mean you can't do things in other fields." It was a well written system that described the game well and helped new players understand the game.
I personally do not like this idea at all. I see the entire region as being equally devolped, and to have one side be lame and the other thriving is just annoying to deal with. Not to mention that since Froxy and I already split it as North Hot, South Cold it would split the region into quarters which just makes trying to fit cities far more difficult. Additionally even if, in fact likely due to the fact that, one side started devolepment sooner it would be just as if not more evolved than the rest of the region, I see Livian as being very up to date and trendy, but still fairly realaxed.
Mezereon Island: A completly desert Island. On the port of the island, there is a very small town. It is rumored that there is a pokemon gym in the center of the island.
No, there is no Pokemon gym rumored to be anywhere, if there is one people know it is there. I have no problem with there being a Dessert Island, but it would need to be far north and people need to take a ferry to get to it.
I really do not like this idea, and three Islands are already too much, in my opinion, we don't need a 4th

Given the fact that you now only need two badges to take the Certification test, this place makes no sense. Additionally I don't want badges to effect where any player can go, you can have 0 badges and still go to the Pokemon League, you wouldn't be able to challenge them but you can go there.
Foxglove River: Foxglove River is a river that leads from one town to another. It is also Route 13. It has a very, very narrow walkable path, but most people choose to take the ferry. The ferry takes a day to get to the city. On the ferry, there is a gym leader.
I have no idea where this can go but I do like the Gym Leader on the Ferry.
Additionally both you and Froxy are doing this, Route 1-28 are in Kanto, Route 29-46 are in Johto, Hoenn's routes start at 101 and go to 134, and Sinnoh start at 201, so we could use 150-180 and be safe.

It is not half hot/half cold. The north "pole" of the region is hot. As you go down, it gets colder. There is no line where you cross and it is suddenly cold. The region isn't divided that way. Also, the Old-New division isn't really a lone either, and I only said East and West to simplify it. Some cities are "New Risin" cities, they are more developed. Some cities are "Old Risin" cities. They are less developed. It not that it is lame, it is just urban vs. rural
I wanted a Goldenrod/Celdon kind of city, is that what you are going for?
Pretty much, but all the towns in this game should be a little bigger than towns in the video game, because those are all tiny towns.
Given the fact that you now only need two badges to take the Certification test, this place makes no sense. Additionally I don't want badges to effect where any player can go, you can have 0 badges and still go to the Pokemon League, you wouldn't be able to challenge them but you can go there.
Once again, WHEN WAS THIS DECIDED? It should be much harder to be a gym leader. I really like how Makorandy did it. However, Ixia Island serves as a place where it is easier to be a gym leader. Almost all gym leaders started of with a gym on Ixia.
I really do not like this idea, and three Islands are already too much, in my opinion, we don't need a 4th
Why do your islands take precedence over mine?

Did you watch the anime? This is similar to Cinnibar Island in the anime. No one thought there was a gym, but Ash found it and got the badge. Maybe there was a gym on the desert island, but it was abandoned long ago. However, if you go there, it is secretly still taking challengers.
I have no idea where this can go but I do like the Gym Leader on the Ferry
Oh, thank you! This almost makes it seem like you somewhat respect my opinion....almost.

I always thought it was wierd when games started with a number other than 1. The other versions of the World of Pokemon started with Route 1, so why can't this one? It makes sense. It is a different region after all.

True that there isn't a line dividing the Continent into 4 precise sections but it still would makie it harder to place cities in a somewhat realistic way.

Falkner took the Certification Exam with no badges and several other trainers have mentioned inheriting their gyms. The only reason why I even but that you need 2 is to make people realize "Hey, I can try this really early on." The keyword is try, they will fail the test if they try it that early on. The test is a 6 on 6 Pokemon battle with the Pokemon being High Level and Fully Evolved, unless the player is a 'tard (and I did have this problem when someone was trying to have their stater Pokemon survive against a Swampert) they will realize they can't win.

Ash is completley brain dead, and if he had have asked someone that worked with the Pokemon Leauge Registration center they would have told him the Gym exists, they may have not known who the leader was or how to find the Gym but they could tell him it exists.

Hard? Why so? The cities east of the Pasque Railroad are in Old Risin. The cities west of the Pasque Railroad are in New Risin.

OK, if a character has a parent as a Risin gym leader, they can inherit the gym. But we shouldn't let players have parents as gym leaders. Why make a test designed so that they player will fail. That is stupid and a waste of our time and theres. And, remember that there are millions of trainers in the world. If they could all get gyms so easily, it would be a boring world. Makorandy's version made sense to me.
Because 2 WPL's helped create them there for we have 66.6% of the vote.
I went through a lot of work to make my map. You gave me some cities and I am including them in my map. Now you are making a map so I am asking you to please include some of my ideas in your map. Just because I am not in the majority doesn't mean you shouldn't respect my opinion. Or maybe, instead of just plain shooting it down, you could attempt to compromise.
Ash is completley brain dead, and if he had have asked someone that worked with the Pokemon Leauge Registration center they would have told him the Gym exists, they may have not known who the leader was or how to find the Gym but they could tell him it exists.
Nope. No one on the island thought the gym was still in existance if I recall correctly. I will compromise and say no one knows where the gym exactly is or who the leader is. It is somewhere in the middle of a huge desert island and therefore a long journey and very hard to find. Due to this, some doubt its existence. Happy?
Even so the games have set precedent.
I respectfully disagree. This is our game, we can do what we want with it. Route 1 makes more sense.
Ok, here's my map, it looks something like VJ's mixed with my own interpretation. It's not finished, as we need more cities for it, but I'm pretty sure this is what we should go with. (I haven't added mountains or rivers or whatever, but just so you know, Brown is the Australian-esque part, and Green is the part more like Canada.)
It's also not as hard to get around mile-wise as it may look. From Livian to Icthus is about 100 miles, so judge off that I guess.
Those little islands are really just there to represent erosion, and boundaries for surfing. Every region has them.

However, the shape of that map is perfect. The shape of the map. Not the map.
Pinago Town

PPS: (wow this post is getting long) I never got the sense that you were limited by your job.

I wanted a Goldenrod/Celdon kind of city, is that what you are going for?
No, there is no Pokemon gym rumored to be anywhere, if there is one people know it is there. I have no problem with there being a Dessert Island, but it would need to be far north and people need to take a ferry to get to it.

Yeah, I was going by sizes in the Anime/Manga.
Because 2 WPL's helped create them there for we have 66.6% of the vote.
Ash is completley brain dead, and if he had have asked someone that worked with the Pokemon Leauge Registration center they would have told him the Gym exists, they may have not known who the leader was or how to find the Gym but they could tell him it exists.
Even so the games have set precedent. True that there isn't a line dividing the Continent into 4 precise sections but it still would makie it harder to place cities in a somewhat realistic way.

It's also not as hard to get around mile-wise as it may look. From Livian to Icthus is about 100 miles, so judge off that I guess.
Those little islands are really just there to represent erosion, and boundaries for surfing. Every region has them.
