You have no idea how hard it was to not transcode MTG:RPG's Erin into here with a Mr. Mime. Oh well.
Name: Jade
Gender: Female
Starter Pokemon: Pikachu
Age: 10, to the day.
Height/Weight: 4'2", 89 lbs.
Place of Origin: Viridian City. Just off of Route 2.
Family:
- Eron, father, late 30s. Gym Trainer in Celadon City.
- Alice, mother, mid 30s. Established merchant in Celadon City.
- Derrick, brother, early 20s. Currently working on the Gym Challenge.
General Apperanace: Jade was named after her hair color, a rather fetching light green that hangs down to her waist. It's normally kept in check by a red ballcap that she usually wears backwards. She's usually found wearing a red hoodie with a blue vest over it. Her pants are dark blue cargo pants, held up with a belt. In a concession to fashion, she usually has a few other belts that just hang off with no real purpose. Her shoes are yellow cross-trainers. In lieu of a purse, she wears a red sack-style backpack. Nothing really special otherwise.
Backstory: Jade was born in Celadon City while her mother was watching a rather important battle her Father was part of. Her mother actually watched footage of the battle in the midst of the delivery. Her daughter ended up squealing with joy at Daddy's win rather than screaming as babies usually do. This, more than anything, cemented her fate as a Pokemon trainer. She eventually spent a lot of time with Dad at the gym, learning the ropes. She made good ties with many pokemon there. But Plant types just weren't her style. Trips out to watch her Brother on his gym challenge, as well as going on vacations with the family, exposed her to plenty of the Trainer's life. So it was no surprise when, at the age of 10, she asked to go on her own journey. She didn't want to have to follow in her brother's footsteps, so she chose another region at random to start in. Ageos would have to be it.
Goals: To be the very best, of course. Not just the best trainer, but the best collector. Jade has a very old-school view of her future: Beat the Elite Four, become the champion, catch every pokemon, and then challenge her dad and brother to a tag-team battle and see who wins.
Pikachu sends out a little bolt of electicity towards the indicated patch of tall grass and you both hear a sharp cry. Out of the patch of grass pops a Abra...
Jade's eyes widen and she stifles a squeal. An Abra! When she was deciding which pokemon she wanted to start with, she had wavered between Pikachu and Abra. Not for long, mind. She loves Pikachus. But an Abra! So soon! This has to be good news. But there's that teleport problem... Hrm...
Not enough time to use 'Dex to find out!
"Pikachu, zap it! Try to paralyze it so that it can't teleport away!"
She's already reaching for a pokeball to throw as soon as 'Chu's zap hits in the hope of catching it quickly.
And here's hoping it doesn't teleport away immediately! That would suck.
Your Pikachu's attack and your pokeball both hit the abra at the same time as it trys to teleport. You're lucky and the Abra isn't able to get away. The pokeball dings once, twice, and then, finally, there is the clear chime of a successfully captured Pokemon.
Congratulations you caught a Abra. Your Pikachu has gained 2 experience.

With your new Abra safely in its new home, you start looking for Pokemon. After a little bit of searching you see..
What would you like to do?
Jade blinks before quickly pulling out her pokedex. Hrm. She identifies the pokemon before thinking. Who should work this one? Hrm. It's a flying type. Weak to electricity. And Abra's teleport probably wouldn't be useful here...
"Pikachu, zap the bird!" Hissed down to the pokemon. Hopefully this'll be as easy as the last one.
You are awesome. Thank you thank you thank you for bringing the battle information with you!!
Pikachu's thundershock proves to be extremely effective against the bird. Electricity arcs across its feathers and wings, dropping it to the ground quickly. The battle isn't over yet, and as it growls in disapproval of the situation, the Taillow appears to be concentrating on something about the electric pokemon. (growl, then focus energy)
Pikachu definitely gets pecked, and good too. Probably a bruise if not more than that. And before its trainer can even respond, it shouts its name and zaps at the tail again.
"Pikachu!"
Jade can barely respond, trying to grab a pokeball to throw. And then tossing it before running in to check on her pokemon.
The pokeball connects with the Taillow, trapping it inside. As the ball settles to the ground, there's a little bit of wiggle wiggle, and a little bit of blinky blinky . . .
wiggle and blink
wiggle and blink
. . . and the ball stops with a soft chime. Congratulations! You caught a Taillow!
Jade looks at the pokemon before pulling out her 'Dex. She takes a quick look at the entry before nodding. "We don't really need another flying pokemon... But my pokedex won't be complete without it."
Hrm. Pikachu would make this easy... But Pikachu has had a lot of attention recently. She glances down at the rodent before... Oh well.
The electricity arcs across the Starly, causing it to cry out, but it takes flight and swoops down at the Pikachu with its wings outstretched. (Wing attack)
The Pikachu seems a little upset about this, but it jumps out of the way of the Starly as it returns to Jade's side. The pokemon trainer grabs a pokeball and tosses it to the ground.
Flustered as to which "clone" to attack, Starly ineffectively dove at two of them before settling down, and growling. It was starting to breathe heavily at this point, as well. (hp yellow-almost red)

The pokemon quickly starts Teleporting around, fast enough that it seemed to be a dozen Abras, not just one.

Abra's getting tired. But so is the Starly. The trainer snags a ball and wings it at the flying pokemon.

Congratulations, you caught a Starly! Pikachu and Abra both gain +2 experience.
"Woohoo! That's another one! Good job, Abra! Return!"
Once Abra is safely in its ball for safe keeping, the trainer goes and picks up the new pokeball. Grinning to herself.
"Four down.. Lots to go."

"Taillow, I choose you!"
Out comes the pokeball to bounce on the ground and reveal a Taillow, already flying fast towards the plant pokemon.
"Taillow, peck attack!"
