"Pidgey, take evasive action. Use your Quickness and speed to avoid the rocks, while Attacking from above!". The Pidgey takes flight once more, skillfully dodging flying rocks as it swoops down on the rocky Pokemon. (Quick Attack) (Your attack missed) (HP=Green)

"Take the hit Geodude, and see if you can grab it with your tackle and ground that Pidgey!" Geodude flexed his rocky arms as Pidgey hit it square in the center, and then the boulder pokemon's arms snapped around to try and grab Pidgey in a bear-hug and pin it down. If this works, we might come out on top. Those rocks are powerful, but kind of inaccurate, so . . . (sort-of improvised tackle)
After the Pidgey hits geodude, it tries to fly up once more, unfortunately geodude grabs ahold of the pidgey's leg, yanking down hard as it does so. The little bird gives a squawk of surprise and is slammed into the ground. Still holding the Pidgey, geodude begins to squeeze it between its two arms. Sofia shouts to Pidgey "Try flap your wings, use the Gust of wind generated to escape from its hold..." (Gust) (HP=Yellow)

It . . . It worked?! Nicolette thought to herself. She hesitated for a second, which was enough time for the Pidgey to have kicked up a whirlwind of dust and debris. Geodude started to squint, but otherwise appeared largely unharmed. "Let's end this, Geodude! Point-blank rock throw!" Pidgey was starting to break free of Geodude's hold when the rocky pokemon started hurling rocks, stones, and whatever else was close at hand at Pidgey. At such a close range, it would be difficult to avoid but not impossible.
With the Pidgey so close, it couldn't avoid the rocks. It gets hit in the back between it's wings and goes down. As it hits the ground, geodude, thinking that it has won, lets it go, but the battle isnt quite over. It's able to get to its feet before letting loose another strong Gust of wind. (Gust)(HP=Red)

"Tuck and roll with it, Geodude!" Geodude used its defense curl to wrap itself up into a ball, and roll a bit with the force of Pidgey's gust attack. "Great, now ready yourself for another rock throw when it moves in for an attack." (hp yellow, he is a young geodude after all)
"Quick, Pidgey, Attack it before it can recover from its rolling... The Pidgey nods and darts towards Geodude. At the last second, just before Pidgey would hit geodude, Geodude picks up a particularly large rock and heaves towards pidgy. The Bird and rock collide in the air with a terrible crash. When the dust settles Pidgey is lying on its back, its eyes little Xs...

After your training you take a quick swim in the bay, but while you're swimming you feel something tap you on the shoulder from behind. You turn to see a small Tentacool bobbing up and down in the water and staring directly at you...
Nicolette looked around to see what had brushed up against her while she was enjoying the water. As she turned and saw the red, bulbous orbs and greyish-brown tentacles, she sputtered in surprise. "Ack!! Roselia, help me out! You should make short work of this!" As Roselia quickly hopped toward the water's edge, Nicolette called out "Mega drain! Keep doing it until I say otherwise! Distract it so I can slip away." The roses began to glow with a strong magenta hue, and a burst of the aura tried to envelop the Tentacool and sap away its energy.

As Tentacool looked away, Nicolette immediately dove under the surface and swam for shore. Unfortunately, if all Tentacool wanted was a hug, it chose the wrong person to sneak up on today. True to her commands, Roselia continued the pressure with a second Mega Drain.

Roselia was held in the Tentacool's grip (OOC: if that was Nicolette, it would be really awkward). Nicolette surfaced at the shoreline, beside where the pair of pokemon were battling. She sputtered a bit again - it had been a while since she'd held her breath that long - and looked over to see how things were going. "Perfect, it's in close, so give it one more mega drain for good measure. Let's end this, and put it out to sea again." Roselia glowed with the magenta aura again, as he attempted to end the battle. The aura came a little slower this time, but the effectiveness was still probably the same.
The little Jellyfish continues to hug Roselia right up until the final Mega Drain. With its watery body almost completely drained, it releases Roselia from its hug and it flobs back into the water, slowly drifting out into the bay...
Congratulations, you defeated a Tentacool that just wanted a hug. Roselia gets +2xp...

You make your pitch to the Research Assistant and Officers, they agree that something has to be done about the Gyarados but they aren't sure how you're going to find it... the Gyarados has been attacking virtually every boat heading north of the island and there very few boats left...
After talking to the Research Assistant and Officers, you walk along the docks trying to talk the various fisherman into letting you use their boats... after quite a few "NO!"s, "HELL NO!"s, and "**** ***!"s you finally manage to convince a fisherman to take you out into the bay.
Sailing north out into the bay, you find yourself on Route 15 (Center)...
About five minutes after arriving on Route 15, you're standing at the front of the boat and start to get a bad feeling. As you turn around, a shadow falls across the deck, slowly looking up, afraid of what you're about to see, you raise your eyes to find one of the largest, meanest, Gyarados Ageos has ever seen staring down at you...
It opens its gaping maw and you see a bright light forming in the back of its throat...
What are you going to do?
(OOC: a little liberty with the first attack, for the sake of dramatic effect, if you don't mind)
As Nicolette turned around, she looked up into the awe inspiring form of a Gyarados . . . . and when she spotted the glow from it's mouth as something powered up, she shouted to the fisherman "We need to go. NOW!! You know this area best, and it's on us. Fastest speed you can manage, no straight lines. This is going to get ugly fast."
As the fisherman hit the gas on the boat, Nicolette braced herself and reached for the pokeballs from her belt. First up was Ledyba, which she released into the air. "Ledyba, supersonic! Distract it, annoy it, keep it from focusing on us if you can!" As she said the last words, a thunderous roar erupted from Gyarados' mouth, and the light that had been building fired into the bay, narrowly missing the now-speeding boat. How the bloody . . . Hyper beam?! It can't be. Focus, Nicolette, you can't wander your thougts now. While the boat missed the initial blast, the resulting expanse of superheated air caused the windscreen of the boat to crack in several places, and the smaller windows on the side shattered as they were broadsided by the same effect. Ledyba bravely weathered the storm, though it was buffeted by the swirling air currents, and it started to buzz around Gyarados' head in an attempt to confuse it with supersonic sounds from its wings as it circled.
"Okay, that may have bought enough time to get a plan together," Nicolette said. Emberlace was crouched between two seats on the boat, firmly entrenched where she was. Nicolette grabbed two more pokeballs in her hands, tapping the release on each of them. Roselia and Feebas appeared before her. "Roselia, I want you to concentrate on draining everything you can from that Gyarados there. Think you can do that? Use your mega drain, and don't let up. Ledyba is helping you out, trying to keep it distracted and confused."
Then she turned to Feebas. It stared up at her with beady little eyes. "You have a very important task, Feebas. I know you can't do much directly, so I want you to go underwater, and see if you can convince anything else to help up. Tentacools, Squirtles, Remoraids, Qwilfish, anything that will listen to you. We're going to need help with that thing. But if ANYTHING tries to attack you, I want you to jump back into this boat. You got that? Now go! I'm counting on you!" Feebas, a look of pure terror flashing across its face as it appeared to comprehend the gravity of the situation, splashed its way to the waters of the bay with a little help from Nicolette.
All the pieces she had right now were in motion. Ledyba buzzed away around Gyarados' head, Roselia was preparing to use a constant drain on the rampaging pokemon, and Feebas swiftly swam through the waters trying to convince anything it saw to help. As Nicolette looked up to see how Ledyba was doing, Gyarados' mouth began to glow with a similar light once again. "Son of a . . . . Hold on, this is going to be rough!!"
(OCC: Since you're using multiple attacks (I can't blame you :D) I hope you don't mind if I do the same...)
Ledyba's sonic attack seems to be working, it's manage to draw at least some of the Gyarados' attention, and its wrath, away from you and the boat. Annoyed by the comparatively little insect, the massive Gyarados snaps its gaping Bitting jaws at Ledyba, missing it by mere inches. (Bite at Ledyba but a miss...)
Frustrated with its inability to stop the cacophonous little bug, its attention is drawn next back towards the boat, where it can feel its energy being drained towards. Raging at this effrontery, the great water Dragon lets loose another, blindly bright, bolt of energy at the boat, intending to strike down whomever would be so bold as to challenge it. (Dragon Rage at Roselia, you and the boat...)
Meanwhile...
Despite the fearsome battle raging on the surface of the bay, Feebas continues its desperate search for help below the waves...

The combination of the previous blast's roiling effect on the waves, and the fisherman's somewhat chaotic driving, was playing havoc with the rampaging Gyarados' aim. The water swelled underneath the boat - part of the rippling effect left by the previous shot - and then suddenly dropped off as Gyarados fired. The blast passed dangerously close overhead, taking out the windscreen of the boat and gouging the front end before hitting the water and causing an enormous backsplash that felt like a torrential downpour. Everyone was thrown to the deck from the shockwave of the attack, causing the boat to temporarily come to a halt. Despite her survival instincts telling her to stay down and out of sight, Nicolette stood shaking in the back of the boat. "Ledyba!!" she shouted at the top of her lungs. "Tackle it when it's not looking at you! Supersonic when it is! Keep it up!" She looked at Roselia, seeing that it had taken a glancing blow from the attack. The flower pokemon was already in rough shape, but she knew that the drain was slowly working away at Gyarados' health. "I know this battle is a lot to ask of you, but I need you to keep mega draining that Gyarados. You'll feel better as you do it, but we need to bring it down fast."
With that, she turned to the fisherman. Checking to see if he was alright (there didn't seem to be much movement, and she saw a little blood on the side of his head), Nicolette spared a glance at the battle. Roselia appeared to be improvising her instructions a bit, and with Ledyba tackling Gyarados' head at the moment, the flower pokemon appeared to glow brighter than it usually did. Growth, I didn't even think of that before the draining . . .
There was still no sight nor sound of Feebas on its priority mission to find help.
(TL;DR, OOC: Ledyba using tackle when Gyarados is looking at us, Supersonic when it's focused on the bug. Roselia preparing with Growth first, then readying a continuous Mega Drain as soon a Gyarados looks away. . . . Feebas, well, I can only hope . . . )
While the Gyarados has its head turned, blasting away a you and the boat, Ledyba is busy trying to figure out how best to tackle a pokemon that outwieghs it by about 20+ times. Having finally formed a plan, it flies around to the back of the Gyarados' head, and, flying as fast as its little wings can carry it, it rams into the back of the Gyarados' head. Bouncing back from its attack, it shakes its head to clear it. When it starts paying attention to the battle once more it finds itself face to face with an angry Gyarados. It had twisted the upper portion of its body around to face the annoying bug. As it opens its mouth to give the little bug a point-blank lesson in Draconic Rage, Ledyba lets out a high pitched shriek and dives towards the Gyarados' tail. The Gyarados fires another bolt of energy, intending to annihilate the little bug, but instead of striking the Ledyba, the blast strikes the Gyarados' own tail. (Dragon Rage but it's confused so it hurts itself...)
Roselia's Mega drain begins to have an effect on the Gyarados, unfortunately that effect is to draw the Gyarados' attention once more. Furious, it begins to whip up a vicious, Twisting tornado to tear at the boat. (Twister at the boat...)
Nicolette looks up at the sound of the blast, and all she sees is a large cloud of steam as Gyarados roars in watch might have been anger, pain or victory. Either way, she couldn't see Ledyba at the moment, so she could only hope it was doing the attack pattern still. There's a chance that missed if it's confused, but I don't know how to tell right now. Oh Ledyba, I hope you're alright . . .
The fisherman was coming to his senses again, but before Nicolette could ask him if he was alright, there was a terrible wind whipping up around them. She looked up, and saw that a twister was heading right for them. There was little time to react, so all she could manage was to shout "Twister! Hold on!" before the boat was spinning in circles atop the waves. Unfortunately, the motion knocked Roselia down onto the deck of the boat and disrupted her draining influence. She didn't look in the best of shape (hp yellow, close to red), but as the twister passed and dissipated, the flower pokemon stood once again and focused everything it had on the Gyarados. It knew that it could draw strength from the rampaging pokemon, and was bent on taking as much of it as possible.
Nicolette spared a second as she helped the fisherman to his feet again at the boat controls to look over at her partner Emberlace. The (ineffective type-wise) Ponyta was cowering between two of the seats while the events around it carried on. Drawing her pokeball, Nicolette shouted above the noise, "You're getting inside this, now! It'll protect you, and I promise you'll see me again really soon. You're going to be alright." With that, Emberlace disappeared with a flash of light into her pokeball, and Nicolette attached it to her belt once more.
Thinking her last sentence was directed at him, the fisherman snarled "Alright?! Look at my [MAREEEEEEP] boat!! We can't beat this thing, it's going to kill us! I was insane for even letting you talk me into thinking you had a chance against this!" Wiping the blood from his face, he spared a glance around him; What he saw shut him up immediately. Though she apparently couldn't see it, he spotted a small red insect buzzing the head of the Gyarados trying to keep it distracted, while a flowery grass-type was shrouded in a magenta-hued aura that stretched out to Gyarados as well. The teenager he had just yelled at half stood, half leaned on a seat, watching the battle, and tried to adjust tactics to fit the situation. They were trying to stop the boat attacks, and they weren't even from the area, let alone dedicated fisherman! The fisherman stood up at the controls, and yelled out "That's it. You've got to get close to finish it off, so we're going in! Let's hope this wreck holds out!" He drove the throttle forward as he steered the damaged craft around towards the Gyarados.
**************************
Up around Gyarados' head, Ledyba was beyond terrified. If even one attack landed, it knew that it would lose and fall into the bay waters far below. Unable to hear Nicolette's commands, it continued with the attack pattern it had developed. Since Gyarados was focused on the boat, it furiously drove itself at the back of the sea monster's head, its tiny wings beating at a feverish pace. It had no idea how effective the attack s were, it just knew what its trainer had asked of it, and that it could deliver. (Tackle)
As Gyarados' attention turned to it again, the insect let out another feverish shriek of dismay, and started to emit supersonic waves as it tried to avoid whatever came at it.
**************************
As Feebas swam below, looking for help, it stumbled across a lone clownfish. When it asked Feebas "Have you seen my son, Nemo?", Feebas countered with a condensed version of what was happening above, and what it was doing. The clownfish looked horrified, and swam off into the distance. Clearly, it was not in the right place. Feebas just had to keep swimming, and hope it found the help its trainer was looking for soon . . .
OOC: Yes I used a mareep for the censor sound. Problem?
Roselia flinched after twister, then continues Mega Drain
Ledyba tackles until it gets Gyarados' attention, then evades and supersonic
Feebas is token comedic value right now, apparently
Fisherman is conscious, and boat is heading closer to Gyarados
. . . that was a lot, and sorry if I shouldn't have acted for the fisherman.
Ledyba continues its dance, dodging bolts of energy as well as it can, but as the boat approaches the Gyarados, the Raging water Dragon has had enough of this game the annoying little insect has been playing. It turns its head away from Ledyba. Seeing its chance Ledyba swoops in for another tackle, unfortunately for the Bug Pokemon, the Gyarados was setting a trap... when Ledyba is only a few feet away from the back of Gyarados' head, it whips around to face Ledyba, a powerful bolt of energy already being released, point-blank, at the bug pokemon... (Point-Blank Dragon Rage)
One nuisance dealt with, the Gyarados turns to its last remaining quarry, the Boat... Roaring in Rage, as it feels its energies being drained by Roselia, the water Dragon blasts away at the boat once more, this time without the distraction of the cacophonous little bug to get in its way... (Dragon Rage at the boat, intending to capsize it and put you all into the water... (HP=Yellow from the continued Mega Draining))
Meanwhile far below the waves of the bay, Feebas has finally found the reinforcements it was sent to find. The waters of the bay begin to roil as feebas and the reinforcements approach the surface... (I'm not going to tell you what the reinforcements are, they're going to be a surprise... :evillol:)

The point-blank blast is enough to take Ledyba out of the fight. The insect pokemon started to tumble from the sky, and into the water below. From the boat, Nicolette saw something falling. She reached for Ledyba's pokeball and returned it to the relative safety inside . . . .
And then she saw the now apparently not-confused Gyarados staring at the boat and powering up another shot. Having just enough time to return Roselia as well, and shout "Incoming! Abandon ship!" before the dragon rage reached full power and fired. Nicolette ad the fisherman both leapt from the boat at the blast hit, the force of the attack helping to carry them away from the epicenter, but also knocking their escape awry. The fisherman tumbled through the air and splashed into the water about 100 feet away from Nicolette, who ended up doing a less-than-graceful face dive into the water. The fisherman was fine, having a PFD that fit him well; Nicolette was not so lucky, and as she righted herself in the water, her PFD loaned from the fisherman began to slide up over her head. Oh no, I'm not a good swimmer . . . she thought as her arms tried to find a grip on the flotation device and her legs kicked steadily underneath her. It was enough to stay afloat - for now.
That was when she noticed that the bay had begun to look like a pot of boiling water. Something was happened, and terror gripped Nicolette as she had no idea whatsoever about what it could be. The sea continued to roil as out from the depths came . . . .
Suddenly, Feebas. Hundreds of them. All splashing about like the frail little things they are . . . . seriously, though, what is it?!
The Magikarp start flinging themselves at the Gyarados, forcing it to redirect its attention to the fish and away from the shattered boat. The Raging water Dragon begins blasting the magikarp with bolts of energy, Thrashing about, and generally annihilating as many of them as possible. After a few moments the few that survived the onslaught begin to glow and morph into...
The quartet smaller, newly evolved, Gyarados begin to Bite and snap at the larger one...
In the confusion, Feebas swims up to you as if looking for your approval...
(TL;DR: Feebas returns with reinforcements... a lot of Magickarp. Gyarados => Dragon Rage, Thrash etc => Magikarp. Magikarp => Evolve => Team up and go to town on bigger Gyarados...)

OOC: Was I just trolled with my own KARP KARP KARP KARP joke from back in Cerise City?! This is awesome!
Nicolette was in complete disbelief at what she saw in front of her. Then everything snapped into place. Are you kidding me?! They're just - I mean - jumping - tackling - WHAT THE . . !?!?! Gyarados' thrashing created a rippling effect in the water, and soon some very large rolling waves were coming from the scene of the battle. A triumphant roar echoed across the water . . . it didn't sound god for the Magkia-
A series of four, slightly higher pitched roars soon echoed right after, and it appeared that Round Two had begun. It was then that a familiar face with beady eyes and pale, smoky blue fins appeared in front of her. "You!! Feebas, you are incredible! I think you just turned this battle in our favour!" She praised the fish in front of her, and then had an idea. "Okay, new plan. See this loop here?" Nicolette showed it one of the straps that had stayed together as the PFD slid over her head when she fell into the water. "I want you to take this in your mouth, and we're going to creep up on this battle. Let's keep our distance, and stay out of the way of your friends, but I need to see this so I can tell the rest of the people what happened." Feebas stared blankly for a second, then grabbed the strap and started to slowly pull Nicolette into viewing range of the continued battle. She spared a glance to the fisherman, who was apparently more concerned over the loss of his boat, and in a state of shock about the events of today, but he otherwise appeared fine.
Nicolette and Feebas crested a wave, and a rocky outcropping was visible not too far from where they were. It was a good distance from the fight, but it looked sturdy enough for her to stand on and observe the events happening before her. Taking it all in, she saw the four smaller Gyarados teaming up against the larger one that had caused all this mess. Powerful blows were traded backand forth, amidst a bay covered in a scattering of semi-conscious Majikarps that weren't capable of continuin the battle, or evolving to help out.
Instinctively, she began to reach for a pokeball. There may be a chance to take this one in, and have the scientists figure out what went wrong with it. Maybe something can be done to prevent this in the future with other Gyarados, or whatever.
Should an opportunity present itself, Nicolette will try for a capture when the rampaging Gyarados is almost defeated.
As the water dragons' battle raged on, you slowly work yourself into a better position. The large Gyarados seems to have finally fallen back on the defensive and is reteating... right towards your little rock. Swimming backwards its to preoccupied to notice the little piece of rock and it hits it back first. Roaring in pain, it turns around just long enough to see what it bumped into... you. Its eyes flash and its about to lunge in for the kill but at that moment, the four smaller Gyarados catchup with it... Biting... Tackling... Splashing... the larger Gyarados is on its last legs (sort-to-speak)... (HP=Deep Red)

As the Gyarados started retreating, Nicolette instructed Feebas to "go check on the fisherman, and bring him to safety." Feebas sped off into the distance, heading toward the wrecked boat and the fisherman that was floating nearby, probably still mourning the loss of his boat.
The rocks shook as the large dragon's body backed right into them, and Nicolette almost lost her footing (wet shoes standing on wet rocks is not a good way to keep one's balance) but her grip on the outcropping managed to keep her upright. The rampaging Gyarados was looking badly injured, and on the retreat, but it had backed right into Nicolette again! The smaller ones were gradually winning the battle, despite their smaller size and power. As the large Gyarados turned to see what it had backed into, it easily spotted Nicolette in her soggy but brightly coloured clothing. Recognizing her from the boat, a glow started to form in its mouth again; apparently it knew exactly who she was, and that she was also the reason it was now in a losing battle instead of the big fish in a small pond. The light grew brighter as Nicolette grabbed an empty pokeball. Well, here goes nothing . . .
The pokeball arced through the air across the short distance to the Gyarados and . . .

(OCC: You right, it might have been a little awkward for the Tentacool to hug you...)

Roselia preparing with Growth first, then readying a continuous Mega Drain as soon a Gyarados looks away. . . . Feebas, well, I can only hope . . . )
Roselia's Mega drain begins to have an effect on the Gyarados, unfortunately that effect is to draw the Gyarados' attention once more. Furious, it begins to whip up a vicious, Twisting tornado to tear at the boat. (Twister at the boat...)
Meanwhile below the waves...
Feebas continues to search for help...
(TL;DR Dragon Rage => Confused => Hits itself (HP Green/Yellow Border...) Twister => Boat, Roselia and You... Feebas continues to search...)

:evillol:)

The sea continued to roil as out from the depths came . . . .
KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!

KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!KARP!"

Well, here goes nothing . . .
The pokeball arced through the air across the short distance to the Gyarados and . . .
