"'Ere he comes, ay!" One young man said obnoxiously. He was obviously drunk. "How feels that blow, eh? Maybe you'd think twice before callin' me a drunk!"
A few other men around him laughed. Across the room, another man sits alone and scowls at them.
The drunk man mutters something about being ignored, but gets over it as he takes another drink.
The man David heads for doesn't realize it until the last moment. He looks a bit startled.
"David, I'm Teren," he says and holds his hand out flat, meaning for David to take and grasp it ((their form of a handshake)). "Everyone should have a name, should they not?"
Teren ordered two shots from the waitress before turning to David.
"It's nothing out of the ordinary," he explains, "just the usual kids beating on the irregulars. I see it all the time. But what bring you here? I haven't seen you before."
"A job, eh? Have you checked the prison? They're always hiring gaurds down there," Teren looks up as the waitress sets down the shots on the table. He takes one.
"This is Dermstagnia, my friend." Teren reminds him as he drinks down the shot and slams the glass on the table. "It's as safe as it'll ever be. The prison is the most high security anywhere, but I'm sure there are dangers when working with criminals. Surely you know that."
"Ah well my friend, all places around these parts will be like this, I'm afriad,' Teren says. "What bring you here, anyway? It doesn't seem like you like it here much."

In the meantime, David sat down at the table. "So what's going on around here?", he asked with genuine curiosity.
