Sly patted his mouth clean with a handkerchief. "Clearly." He looked a little pale still. "Are there any other rooms in this place?" He asked as he looked around.
**Her throat had been split, and then her chest splayed open.**
Gram - "Whatever is going on here, I'm not stickin' around to find out. No sign of the kid here."
**He saw no other rooms, the temple being mostly open to the air; however, he saw advancing up the mountain a large group of men, obviously better-armed than they were before, and led by the lord.**

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
Sly unslung his guitar nervously and picked up a baseball sized rock. "Never did like to fight... But I think I could make an exception in the case of human sacrifice." His face turned from nervous to a grim resolve.
Morgan didn't speak as she looked from the butchered girl to the approaching group, her staive morphed into the form of a silver bow. The weapon hung loosely in her hand but her free hand hovered near the handful of wooden arrows at her hip.
**Eizen makes note of any large shadows in the area as he silently summons a pair of shadow monkeys. The mage also touches the pillar, solidifying a freezing shadow of himself there.**
**The lord, in the distance, raised his arms, and several thousand well-armed soldiers appeared as if by magic behind him.**
Gram - "Uh ****."

"That's just flaming cheap! Do we have a plan, or are we going to actually try to fight that many?" Riesig asked as he too looked for any escape, or any good places to start huge fires.
Eizen - "If that is a regular visual illusion, then he is the most powerful mage I have ever seen. I would pray for our sakes it's more complicated than that. Sensory magic or a pre-set area ritual perhaps.."
**Eizen also scans the area for an escape route. He slashes one of the large shadows inside the temple to see if the staircase appears.**
**The temple was open to the air; the descent down the other side of the mountain would be difficult, but not prohibitively so.
It did not appear to be an illusion, or at least, the cloud of dust it raised in their nostrils definitely did not feel illusory.
The staircase didn't appear here, either. Weird.
Telamon shouted:**
Telamon - "We still must find the boy! Make your way to the village!"

Riesig wasted no time in doing just that. He also grabbed the gawking Adskhan and tugged him along as they began to head towards the other side. He threw two gaspflame fireballs at the entrance towards the approaching army, hoping to simply obscure vision for a bit.
Torn for a moment as to whether she should try and fire an arrow off Morgan decided it best not to. The odds didn't look in their favour and they if they could convince anyone to leave this island it would be for the best.
She wrapped herself in a mist of shadows as her skin paled and became runed in silver. She used he reduced weight and the gripping darkness to help her descend the other side of the temple with all due haste.
**As they raced, not without difficulty, down the mountain, they could see that the town was now inhabited only by the women and young men--actually the perfect opportunity to find their mark, but for the angry mob some distance behind them.**

Morgan stands besides Laroc, her bow taking on the form of a staff which soon sprouted rainbow tail fans. Morgan began to wave the staff from side to side, creating a driving wind in the direction of the mob.
Sly finally made it to the group of gathered townsfolk.
Sly - "We're looking for a young man that can sing, throw the hell out of a javelin, and wants to get the hell off of this rock... Oh and he has to be able to touch this!"
The tailor produced the box and flipped it open, holding up the item on display.
*Not your most elegant moment Sly, but we're in a damn hurry.*
**The combined effect created something akin to pandemonium among the attacking army, who seemed quite unprepared to find themselves suddenly careening down an icy mountain while simultaneously being buffeted off their feet. Their leader had something more in the way of presence of mind, raising his arms to summon two large, fiery demonic creatures who quickly set to work melting the ice, and the defenders.
At Sly's prompting, several young men raised their hands.**

Laroc - "Some of you break off and find the damn kid! Everyone else, do something to stymie the mob!"
**The atarin began turning the cloud of mists around him into water, covering the ground before the mob with sheets of slick ice.**
