Arl - "Shouldn't we stay together?"

**Cee once again arrives near the edge of how far he can go. He had paid close attention to any potential underground hiding spots or high-up holes in trees during his flight - did any such hiding spots exist?**

Colt quickly flattens himself on the floor, and swings his sword into the window frame.

""Arl, get out the door! Don't be seen!"

**The arrow clanged against Colt's sword.**

**Arl complies with her teachers instructions, one of her swords refolding into a spiked shield as she tries to sneak out the front door without being seen.**

**Whether or not she was seen was difficult to tell. But no arrows were aimed at Arl as she exited the cabin.**

**Arl tries to keep her back to the cabin walls and trees as she sneaks towards the other side of the cabin. She keeps a lookout for the Lord as she privately hopes her heartbeat isn't betraying her location.**

Colt rolled to the left, and picked up the nearest animal head. He put it on the end of his sword, and slowly pushed his sword to the window.

**The was no sign of Lautremont.**

**Arl keeps sneaks towards the... sword with a head on it. She whispers to Colt on the other side.**

Arl - Colt, I don't see him.

"Arl, hide! He is using stealth and a bow, this means Don't stand where he can see you! Also, we must find a way to use our numbers against him. We mustn't split up until we find him."

Arl - "That's what I.. never mind."

**Arl sneaks her way back to the front of the cabin.**

**As far as she could tell, there was nothing about besides the forest, cabin and lake. And Colt.**

Colt got a running start and leapt out the window, rolling to a crouch, and then dashed into the forest for cover. He started looking for Arl, in the direction he thought she went.

**Arl sees Colt jumping out the window in search of her. She rushes into the cabin with her shield held to block any opportunity shots - the Lord could be behind her after all.**

Arl - "COLT! Sorry for revealing my location but chasing after each other in the woods would be really bad."

**Arl has her sword become serrated, making it easier for her to continually cut the veil around her. She also cuts the veil using the spikes on her shield, using it to defend a larger area than it normally would be able too. While doing this the girl proceeds to carefully exit the window and move in the general direction of Colt. (But not directly towards him.)**

"Arl. If we know where he is, we can use a ploy by splitting up. If we don't know where he is, he has the advantage, and we need to consolidate. Make sense?"

Arl - "Yes. I think we should find a defensible location first and work from there. I have a magical map thing we might be able to use if we reach a safer location. He knows the woods a lot better than we do."

**Although she should have just glanced at her magic map back at the cabin.. bah.. wait, she didn't take that arrow either. Aurgh! Frustration spreads across the girl's face as she carefully moves through the woods near Colt.**

**The forest, though quite peaceful and picturesque, was also dense and difficult to traverse. For all that, though, Lautremont might as well have never been there; Colt and Arl could find neither hide nor hair of the mad hunter.**

**Once they reach a particularly dense area Arl shows Colt the psionic paper. She uses the tracking ability to have the paper form a map of the area.**

"Interesting paper. Arl, this is going to be more difficult than I thought. We should hide some traps in the area surrounding the cabin, so lord lautremont won't be able to stalk us so easily."

Arl - What kind of traps?

"The kind that maim, or make it difficult to hunt."

**Arl goes to say something, then closes her mouth and thinks for a moment.**

Arl - "... I can't think of anything that wouldn't take too long or use materials I don't have. Nothing useful anyway. He could attack at any time."

"Keep an eye out, girl."

Colt ducked low, and began searching the lowest reaches of the nearby vicinity for useful plants, including but not limited to:

Hemlock, poison oak, anything vine-like, pine cones and other large seeds, and anything that a bear might find tasty. He tries to assemble a small pile of such plants for use in traps.

**Arl keeps watch as Colt collects plants. About two minutes into this she suddenly remembers she actually DOES carry around snare wire. The girl stops herself mid-mental scolding to refocus on watching the area. She's made enough fumbles as it is.**

Arl - "I just remembered I have snare wire. Sorry for being stupid."

**The psionic paper seemed to be unsure of how to make a map of the area. It would begin to form an image, then confusedly scrub the image away and try again, only to repeat the process endlessly.

Hemlock and poison ivy Colt did not find, but vines and pinecones seemed to be plentiful.

It was then that a piercing scream ripped through the forest.**
