"Aheheha, Uhh, this isn't, uhh, yeah, this is all just business. Perfectly legitimate item buying going on here. Would you excuse us, fellows? I'd like to speak with my associate here ... In my office."
Herschell scooches his way out of the Booth and leads Wayland to the Latrine area.

With a crumpled up paper in hand She walks up to Herchell.. A bit thrown off by the people that were around him. She Ah-hems to get his attention. I heard you need me.. She holds up the paper still folded up in her hand.
This happens whenever herchell gets back from the bathroom
Herschell comes back to the Booth, having satisfied his Gato requirement to do business in the KoA bathhouse.
"Well, now that we're all here, I can lay out the plan. After my recent bodyguarding expedition, during which I acquit myself admirably and no you may not see the incredible weapons I used or the excellent loot I obtained for it has all been sold, I happened to meet one of the merchants who traveled to the Caravan to sell things to the second group of bodyguards. Late that night, he became quite inebriated and I learned several interesting things about him and his store.
1. His name is Randall Niven, and he owns the item shop "The Olde Haberdashery", which was given to him by his father, who was bequeathed it by his father, who won it in a poker game.
2. This Olde Haberdashery is in an excellent location adjacent to the waterfront, with a glorious sign that renders it visible to every ship that comes to Elexia, making it extremely valuable territory for a shopowner. Like Randall.
3. Randall was victimized by a shoplift last month, and has become bitter afterwards. He doesn't have any type of insurance to cover losses from damage or theft.
4. Randall truly loves Whales.
5. Randall has a soft spot in his heart for Gin.
6. Randall is having trouble paying the bills, But he won't have to default because of his secret financial weapon, as he calls it, hidden somewhere in that building.
7. His wife, Carla, sometimes voices regret that she didn't marry a sailor.
8. Their young son, 7, name of Benton, is interested in earth magics and plays with stones which he organizes into the most dreadful things to step on. And then leaves them on the floor to be stepped upon.
9. The Niven family lives in the top floor of the Haberdashery, a modest home for the amount of money they must make.
10. There is at least one secret exit from the building, in case of emergency. Damned if I know where it is.
Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to formulate a plan to rob Randall Niven blind."

"Oh, and before I forget, don't damage the haberdashery. I don't want to pay to repair it."
Herschell can't enforce that, but to make things more interesting, I will. There is a pool of LP for you all at the end of the job, 450, but damage to the building or its contents will subtract LP from the total. Other buildings are fair game.

She nods, and sits in the chair. Then replies to Herchell
You say he has trouble paying his bills. Why would we think there is enough loot to be had.. I mean, things are nice but gold is better. Actually, now that I think of it, what kind of things are in his shop..

Eizen - Simply robbing him blind, even if done flawlessly, will still get a bounty on our heads. I second the con, and would rather abort than slit throats. A technically legal scam would be ideal. Make him give us everything he owns.
However, I don't want a bad reputation for being a scammer either. So let's work out a way to not only trick him out of everything, but actually increase our good reputation among the general populace while doing it.
Dreck - "Well, there are some obvious broad strokes. Get him and his out of the place, take whatever he has that's keeping his creditors off his back, and the rest falls together."
Eizen - On the reputation part we could either convince those around him to want him out or... hrm, what if we convinced his neighbors to pay us to get him out of the area? Maybe convince them that this man is bad news? That we are helping the area by getting rid of this bad element?
Dreck - "Getting him run out of town gets his wife and kid run out too. Seems like we'd be better off creating a situation where this guy chooses to leave."
Eizen - Good point. The child might seek vengeance. Anyway, making him choose to leave is not mutually exclusive to making everyone around him celebrate his decision. If you want to spare the wife and child we can paint them as victims of the man, even to themselves. Victims that the town will help survive in their new lives after we scam them blind.
As for making him choose to leave, I suggest we play on his love of whales and his wife's sailor preference.
**The nadrask pulled out a King Kurrian, spinning it lazily.**
Dreck - "Maybe whales are less of a central ingredient and more of a spice in this particular scam. Seems to me the central focus should be his bitterness over being robbed and his debts."
