The bag contained a few drawings of what seemed to be an adult drake. And several reports of sightings of a massive beast eating the cattle off of farms in the foothills. There was also a map showing the location of two effected farms.
Kherren quickly scanned the reports, looking to see if one farm suffered heavier losses than the other. He also unrolled the map, looking to see what sort of hills and mountains were near the farms.
It seemed from the reports that they had both only been attacked once, but one claimed to have had a barn destroyed as well. They both seemed to be in the hilly area near the base of the Lutherans. There was a fairly large peak nearby though.

Kherren- Agreed, hunting from above seems the most likely. We should head straight for the peak, hopefully we will make it there before nightfall.
Kherren took another look at the map before rolling it up and tucking it away. He turned to the group arms extended, signalling his readiness to leave.
The cheerful elf girl Shalin certainly looked out of place among the Sylvan crowd, and especially the dark environment. Even in broad daylight, the place looked grim and dank. She wasn't here to sightsee, though--she was here on business. In the morning's paper, she found a bounty for a rare kind of elk. She walked into the run-down, almost shack-like location the client was located at and signed up for the dire elk hunt, presenting herself as a hunter with a unique style on the application.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
The elf finds a silvery garr overlooking her shoulder.
Nervada - "Ah! You're after the elk too? Heha, perfect! I needed a partner for it."
**His warped voice envelopes her in an undercurrent of unease, sorta like waking up to find yourself in a sack full of spiders. Or grumpy cats. Maybe grumpy cat-spiders. Anyway! His stance seems friendly enough. He even holds out a shakable hand!**
Her skin tingling at first, Shalin wiped away her surprised look, smiling as she offered to shake the garr's hand. "Shalin Nariya, hunter and wildrider of the meadows. Mind introducing yourself? We'll need to know each other for the elk hunt anyway."

Shalin laughed at the title Nervada presented himself with. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Nervada. My introduction probably wasn't much better. You never know, maybe we'll get to know each other well and hunt down other beasts like this one!" She looked at the documentation regarding their quarry once more. "Looks like a pretty rare specimen, actually. Should be fun!"

**Nervada chuckled a bit himself before joining in on the reading**
Nervada - "Intro was fine enough, ya just need to get other people to accept it! Taking on a dire elk does sound pretty fun. I was hoping it breathed fire, myself, but it looks like my paper was smudged. Ever hunted elk before?"
Shalin laughed at the fire-breathing comment. "Not specifically elk, but I've hunted other animals before. Used to work for stables that specialized in unusual creatures--brought in all kinds of them. Pretty much any appropriately-sized quadrupedal or avian critter you could think of, and then some."

Nervada -"Sounds like a fun place! I've never hunted a dire elk either, although I might have eaten a regular one once? Lately I've just been getting waylaid by Oscarans and crazed experiments. And cultists! Did you hear about the cultists?!"
"I haven't," she replied. "Not a word about them. I spend way too much time looking for the next wild beast to tame to spend a lot of time worrying about urban affairs." She rolled her eyes. "And people told me I was the crazy one," she mumbled, unsure if Nervada could hear her.

**Nervada smirks at the latter comment, his keen ears having picked up far worse on the way into town. Probably shouldn't sing when walking into town, no. Heh.**
Nervada -"Don't worry about it, I can help ya retake the title if you want it! You have to hear about the cultists, though. They had cool animals and everything. They didn't make it, unfortunately, but they were still pretty sweet."
Shalin perked up when she heard the start of Nervada's story. "What kinds of cool animals did they have? I remember bringing in feline predators for some of our richer clients. There was this young boy--you should have seen him rush across the field on one!"

**Nervada describes several of the beasts he encountered during the field trip; A tridra, a large wolf, a smoky orange-eyed monster among them. He then weaves a tale noting the highlights of the fight, taking care to focus on the animal bits Shalin obviously prefers. Like when he rode the rhino!**
Nervada - ".. later on we got attacked by Oscarans and had to prove ourselves in this big arena death match - got some cool goat-cat-horses out of it though! And then we fought an ancient horror, do those count as animals?"
Her eyes lit up at the description of the goat-cat-horse things. "Sounds like fun--I'd like to give one of those a try!" After listening to the details about the arena battle and the ancient horror, she voiced her opinion. "Maybe. Depends on its shape and body structure. I'm not a fan of darkness-aligned things though. Gets anyone in too much trouble." She paused, her eyes drifting toward the notice board. "Did the bill on the bounty board pinpoint the elk's habitat?"

Laghairt - I hear that there is a drake causing a lot of problems. I'd like to help out, if I'd be welcome to do so?
Come on and check it out. You know you want to.
Karack - "When Destiny guides your steps permission is not required."
The man stood up and walked away without another word. On the bench he had left a leather bag.
