To confirm that you still wish to participate in the beta, please post your character's bio in this thread.
We apologize if you weren't able to participate in the beta. The project will open to the public as soon as beta testing is completed, though, so you'll be able to join the RPG soon.
Beta testing will be conducted using KoolKoal's Rules List. These rules will be tweaked as we figure out what works well and what doesn't. I'll be reviewing the characters of all player's in the beta today and tomorrow to make sure they're ready and that everything's fixed before we begin beta testing. Thank you to everyone that's helping us out!
Do NOT post in this thread if you aren't in the beta. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the Planeswalkers RPG, please post them in the General Discussion Thread.
Right then. This is good. So, should we post the characters bio's in here as well as use it for discussion?
I'm about to hyperlink everyone's name to their character, but if you still think we should post the bio's once I've done that, I don't think it'd hurt.
IMHO, it's usually better to have it all in one place, especially for beta testing. Side note: I know how to put the links in my sig, just cant figure out how to just get it to my particular post. Any help would be nice. Nevermind

Good point. It'd also be a good way to have player's introduce themselves.

At the top right corner of your post, there's a number. Click that number. It'll open a new page that's just the post. Copy the link to that page and do what you'd usually do to hyperlink something.
Not quite what i did, just went to the hyperlink you did in the OP and copy/pasted from there, but thanks for the easier route. I'll get my in here in a bit.
As long as no one objects, sure. They didnt take away my title for a reason, or they just forgot. DK/DC, cause i still want to be. Next post will be Quinne.
Edit: I noticed you werent on the OP Beta testing list. Are you not playing?
As long as no one objects, sure. They didnt take away my title for a reason, or they just forgot. DK/DC, cause i still want to be. Next post will be Quinne.
Alright, sounds good. I'll definitely be needing the help.
Name: Quinne
Plane of origin: Dominaria
Race: Human(seems to be anyway(actually a shapeshifter, rp and transportation purposes only so far))
Size: 4' 7", 100 lbs.
Appearance: Wearing a black shirt, black leggings, black shoes, and a black floor-length coat, hair in a tail down almost to the floor, green eyes.
Color: Green
Abilities: Poisonous (1), Conjuration (1)(Virulent Sliver), Conjuration(1)(Muscle Sliver), Conjuration (1)(Gemhide Sliver) (As far as i can tell, it is okay to get more than one common creature and only having the two points in Conjuration, but let me know if I am misunderstanding.)
Bio: One of the inhabitants of the mysterious island known as Vesuva, Quinne was borne into the wilderness of the island itself. No parents, no other people around while he was growing up, he learned from the land, learning his abilities to change himself to what he wanted to look like, to hide himself in his surroundings, to live on and off the land as he pleased. Going around the island, around his 10th year of life, he noticed some things about his abilities. He could change himself into things larger than the shifttrees in the center of the isle, and to smaller than the smallest insect. He was tired after major changes, not so much after little things. He noticed the beasts around him were friendly, unless he used his abilities, and he asked them why. They told him that his powers were of the island, but not of the island and it frightened them. It wasn't normal, or at least the 'normal' that was of the island at any rate. His powers were beyond the norm for denizens of Vesuva. They wanted him to leave, or find out why he was different. Leaving his little cove, he wandered the island to find someone that could help him. After weeks of searching, he could find no being that could tell him anything about his powers. Wandering around, he came to what seemed like a rip in reality. He didn't know what it was or what it could be. It didn't move, it didn't bring anything to it. He could see through it, though it was blurry as the shifting snows that came around in the winter. There was no temperture change as it was in the winter, so he knew it wasn't actually snow, but he could tell it was not natural at any rate. As he got closer to it, he found that he was drawn to it, and after he got within a few feet of the thing, it began pulling him closer, and no matter how much he changed his form, he just could not get away. He got pulled into the rip, and passed out.
Pain. Excruciating pain. That was all he knew when he awoke. No matter what he did, Quinne could not stop the pain. He was dying. He knew that was the only explanation. All he could think about. All he knew. Then, when he though it could get no worse, it did. It seemed that he was being pulled in every direction, the ones he knew, and the ones he could never dream about. Then, all of a sudden, he began to move inward, his body being pushed and pulled at the same time. He was collapsing in on himself. When he was sure that there was nothing worse that could happen, that he had endured everything that he could, he gave in to the pressure pushing him in on himself. As soon as he did, something changed inside of him. He didn't know how he knew, but he knew that something had changed. Suddenly found himself floating in a vast space of nothingness, in the form he was born as. He was but a babe, barely borne, but somehow he knew that he had been borne again. He was different, moreso than he ever thought possible. He was himself, but not himself. He did not know what he was.
Edit: With a recent rules alteration, changed my abilities.
Appearance: Normal built with a hood and full facial mask covering his face. Simple black trousers along with a blood red vest. Normal shoes.
Color: Red
Abilities:
Damage 2 (Fire/Lightning)
Combat Training 2
Bio: Damian was training to become an assassin dedicated to using red magic to incinerate targets. However during his first contract he had accidentally blown himself up while trying to use a spell that was far too advance for him, even though he had managed to take out his target. As well as his adviser/partner, the furniture, a good chunk of the room, and of course he managed to deliver heavy burns to a griffin and it's rider from said explosion which sent him head long into the Blind Eternities much to his surprise and joy for still being alive. Needless to say he decided to go as "Silence Dais" to keep a low profile due to the fact that the authorities believe he somehow survived as his body was not found among the scorched remains. The assassin's guild he is a part of also treat him as both a blessing and a curse, the leaders believe they could use Damian's new found ability to find more powerful and deadly magic as well as to expand their horizons as a group across the planes. Damian also has a few contacts that he managed to keep through personal favors in Ravinca when he needs some information, however he saves them for when it matters most. He's determined to figure that one spell out though just because he enjoyed the results.
Inventory: While he prefers to leave burnt corpses in his wake, his physical training was rewarded with a Talwar, a slightly curved blade that is also a symbol of his position in the assassin's group he is a part of.
Personality: Stubborn but prefers to think things through, is always in the mood for adventuring, and enjoys the heat of the moment when it comes. Tends to keep the fact he is an assassin quiet unless he hears there is a need for one.
(hope no one minds, I wanted to add a little more fluff to the character for personal reasons. I also noticed we have essentially: 2 Green mages, 2 Red Mages, 2 White Mages, and 1 Blue Mage. I'm guessing someone will hopefully come along as a Black Mage so the spectrum can at least be explored fully.)
Confirming my participation in the Planeswalkers beta. Really been looking for a game where running Eron is feasible. Flight is such a powerful mechanic in any other game that I never get to show him off. I'm excited for this.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
Hi everyone! Just here to say that I'll be joining this and it seems like it'll be a lot of fun!
On a sidenote, I was wondering if anyone else would want to do a little non-canon RP'ing before the game starts? If so, just voice your interest here and we'll see if we can get a temorary thread created.
Name: Orammis Bhasir Plane of Origin: Dominaria Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 20 Size: 6'0" 161 lbs.
Maximum Mana Pool: 12 Color/s: Blue Abilities: Clairvoyance [Experienced], Telekinesis [Learned] and Illusions [Learned]
Orammis would be classically handsome expcept for his lack of eyes. Other than that salient feature, or lack thereof, he has short, tightly-curled, blue-black hair which messily frames his sharp face. He has a hard, straight jaw and brow, the first covered in carefully maintained dark stubble. His skin is a rich brown, further darkened by endless hours spent in the sun. In general, Orammis wears a pair of billowing white pants, synched at the waist and knees with blue ribbons. Above that he wears a loose fitting blue vest that remains open most of the time. His only other article of clothing is the length of blue cloth folded over his eyes. Underneath the cloth, Orammis's eyes have been cut from his head. In the sockets are orbs of white glass, but he keeps them covered at all times.
Orammis was born to an extremely wealth silk merchant and his wife in the rebuilt remnants of Sug'ata, in Dominaria. When he was little, his life was one of unabashed luxury. Every whim he ever had for the first nine years of his life was instantly attended to. When he was nine years old, however, his mother fell vicitim to a wasting disease that had been slowing killing her for several years.
Orammis's father was devastated and became severely depressed. In that state, it took merely three years for everything that he had to be spent on drugs and gambling. When they had nothing, they were tossed out on the streets. Orammis's father could not accept their fate, so he perforned the ultimate act of desperation. He made a deal with a demon. For the price of his soul, he was returned to his extremely wealth and power but quickly fell back into old habits and squandered the money that was given him in only two years this time.
Once again penniless, his father returned to the demon to make a new bargain. Without a soul to pay with, Orammis's father had nothing of his own to give and so the demon requested that he bind himself to the demon's service by destroying his own humanity. To do so, a certain task was required, a deed so heinous that all the humanity in the performer would die. The demon made Orammis's father cut out his own son's eyes.
The deed was done and Orammis was left to die. But instead of dying, he woke up in an unfamiliar place. He had been found by a hermit named Macius, who had taken him in and bandaged his eyes. At first, Macius merely taught Orammis how to get by without his eyes through ever more complex household chores. Orammis was reluctant at firstm wallowing in pity, but soon he accepted his fate and mastered all his domestic duties.
Seeing Orammis's strength of spirit, the Hermit decided that he would teach Orammis what little magic he knew, in the hopes it eventually allow Orammis to see again. Most of what Orammis was taught was divination magic, so that he could scry the area directly around himself whenever he wanted to see.
When learning magic, Orammis combined a hidden gift with a brutal work ethic and grew extremely proficient in divination very quickly. At first, Macius didn't allow Orammis to scry the outside and only had him practice in their dimly-lit cottage. It was not long though before Orammis was ready to see the outside.
When he did, the fact that he was not on Dominaria became extremely appearant and, as he learned when querying Macius, was on something called Bant. Orammis was not sure how he got from Dominaria to Bant and Macius claimed not to be either, but both sidetracked research into that venue in favor of more spellcraft.
Unfortunately, their study was not to continure for much longer. Macius was old and, soon after Macius learned to see, died. Though on his deathbed, he revealed that he knew how Orammis got the Bant, that he was a Planeswalker. Orammis is still figuring out what the revelation means for him,
Orammis's life shaped him into a compassionate man. His early years taught him that happiness does exist and that life has greater purpose than backstabbing and suffering. His years on the street taught him that not everyone is given everything on a silver platter. His years with the kind Marcius have only strengthened the compassion in him. Orammis genuinely enjoys helping others do noble things. Because of his horrible experiences, Orammis cannot stand bullies, abusive parents or those who exploit people less fortunate than themselves. His kind nature is paired with a keen intellect and a relentless hunger for knowledge. For Orammis, the key to defeating evil is understanding it.

I wouldn't mind doing this, it'll help me get a better feel for my character.
Also Burns, I saw what you said about the abilities and I understand what you mean. So basically I'm "Learned" and when I level I will have two ability points to either officially declare "Experienced" for both abilities; "Experienced", "Learned", Learned"; or "Learned"x4 with an extra 2 points that will put me close to "Experienced". I'm good with this.

Sorry for naiveness, first RP
Should we agree on a meeting point? Maybe somewhere in the Kessig forest?
Really? I kinda figured we were all on our own and that we'd each meet each other as we went along, either sticking together or splitting ourselves along to see where the story takes us.
Really? I kinda figured we were all on our own and that we'd each meet each other as we went along, either sticking together or splitting ourselves along to see where the story takes us.
That's the plan, but if all of you want to start off in the same place, I won't object.
Personally I think we should combine the two. Basically make it so that we're all in the same vicinity but are still separate. That way it'll move the characters to greet each other faster and if some want to make a group they can while others that want to stay by themselves can. Basically give the characters the ability to have their paths cross without forcing them into it. Besides I think it's safe to assume that unless characters that have distinct oddities about them like our Elf from Lor/Shw then we really don't know who we come across is really a planeswalker.
