<Thanks. Which one of those is which, and how do they operate? I know nothing about any of them, and I want to think about it before I pick one.>
Aggron holds out his hand, and his mana swirls from finger to finger as he thinks. <Also, shouldn't there be four? There's five colors of mana, so black plus any of them would make four black-related guilds. I think.>
OOC: I always wondered how the Ravnica citizens managed to rationalize the lack of <snip>
"Why thank you, although you are not the most helpful, really need to work on your people skills" he says as he enters the gates of Ravnica and begins to wonder inside.

Call me old fashioned, but an evil ascension to power just isn't the same without someone chanting faux Latin in the background.
Oreo, Glazing people better than Dunkin' Donuts since 2009
That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange eons even death may die.
The guard just rubbed his temples, and shut his eyes, no longer even wanting to look at Oreo. "Go, go, just go, for the love of all that is holy, I'm begging you, go."

"Well, the Orzhov are...well...let's just say you don't wanna make a deal with them. They blend white and black mana. The Golgari are a strange lot, reverent of the life and death cycle...in my opiniont, to an unhealthy level. And the Rakdos are a brutal lot, caring for nothing more than destruction for destruction's sake. They blend black and red mana. There are tales of a tenth guild...the Dimir. Allegedly, they blend blue and black mana. They are...were assassins and spies. They were of the shadows, moving sliently, one never saw or heard them until your blood painted the wall. But their way died out not long after the guildpact..." He said, seemingly relishing in telling the tale. "No, they're just a tale children tell to frighten each other, now."
Heh. Really? It seems like a strong breach of symetry...eh, they're blue. I want nothing to do with that twistedness anyway.
Life and death, though? Sounds a lot better than the other options. Pact-makers, random destroyers--I think I'll look into the Golgari first.
'm hardly in the market for children's tales or random destruction. Can you give me directions to the center of the...you called them the Golgari? The ones who study life and death? Where can I find their headquarters?>
In his mind, Aggron begins to see his creatures as they swell, larger and larger, crushing vaguely-defined enemies before them.
Aggron takes his papers back from the guard and heads into the city, walking purposefully for the first time in a long time. It's about time. Estark is nice enough, but this city--this is where I'm going to really get stronger.
After a little while of wandering through his hometown, grabbing a meal at one of the many market stands, Len makes his way to the gates, and heads out. This time, knowing that he's not leaving for good gives him a feeling of calmness, and determination. He makes his way towards Estark.
Cyouni moves towards Ravnica at a measured pace. Not walking, not running. He doesn't want to create the impression of hurrying, nor that of delaying, to whoever's calling him.
He does wonder who'd be calling him, anyways. He doesn't know anyone in Ravnica...
But he'll play along for now, at least until he knows more.
Dodaer finds the gates with relative ease. Looking back at the city, he knew it would have to be his new home. House Shimia wouldn't recognize me anymore... I guess I can't identify myself with them now... I'm a member of the Rakdos now... Dodaer sighed a heavy sigh as he turned around and made his way back to Estark to look for work.

Sig credited to my basic GIMP skills.
There's something about a homemade avvy that makes you feel proud no matter how much it sucks.
The guard blinks at Gully's present before laughing at the young girl. Wiping an imaginary tear from his right eye he asked in sarcasm, "And what business does a little urchin like you have in Ravnica today?"
Gully lets out an annoyed huff, blowing up the stands of hair in front of her face. She quickly thinks back on past and remembers the Chaplain, namely him using the Rakdos Signet.
I hope I'm right. And I hope that he has heard of him.
A laughable little urchin am I? Hmmm...I don't think that the Chaplain would say that after I made him concede in the Arena. Young, yes. Inexperienced, somewhat. Weak? Don't count on it.
The guard's sarcasm and mirth vanished instantly at the mention of the Chaplain. Still unsure of Gully's statement, he took another minute mulling over his next step of action. Gully thought he might be considering sending her back where she came from. But she had little to worry about as the guard's hand went up to his neck rubbing a sore spot.
Playing it safe, in his mind at least, the guard motioned for Gully to pass with his other hand.
"No trouble now..." whispered the guard followed by a muttered, "Please."
He is known...Good, I'll use that to my advantage should the need arise again.
A cheerful, but still determined look returns to Gully's face.
I mean no trouble, Good Sir Guard; I just wish to gain entry into the city. I do have some questions though: Which way leads me to Golgari territory and do any of the Guilds have any Quests that they need taken care of?
The guard laughed in small humor at the question before pointing his spear down the main road of Estark.
"Follow this road until you see the abandoned buildings claimed by Gaea. Once you see them all you will need to do to find some Golgari is to venture into their territory." said the guard as the spear point straight up again. "As for quests... I think there has been talk of the Boros looking for capable mages. They need something accomplished. Beyond that little snippet I know no more."
Xen just looked at the guard a bit dumb founded thinking,
That's not very descriptive... Guess he's had a long day...
"Thanks..." spoke Xen unsure if the guard was just tired or frustrated.
Despite this, Xen made his way into the city of Ravnica looking for any entrances that may take him underground. The guard didn't give him much to go on so as he explored Ravnica, Xen opened his mind for any sources of forest mana that appeared near underground sources. He knew the Golgari combined the mana of the swamps and forests, so perhaps Xen could find his way to them by first finding forest mana and then following the guard's directions.
As Xen went along in the streets, it wasn't long before he smelled the scent that the guard described.
The only thing was, he was still above ground. He then heard a nearby yelp and someone yell, "Get that disgusting thing away from my shop! You're scaring away my customers!"
The creator of Maro's Magic 8-Ball!

Hello, Good Sir Guard. I would like to enter the city.

With that Gully nods to the Guard and proceeds on her way to Sunhome.
