A few expressions flash across his face as he looks at Aggron, before finally settling on 'oh well.' "Yes, we do need assistance regarding that. Are you willing to provide?"
"Well, if you give me your name, we'll give you a small shoulder patch that will identify you for our messenger hawks. We'll send one when you have sufficient backup. Unless you want to stay here and wait for anyone else to come along."
Riiiight. 'll take the patch. The name's Aggron. I'll be somewhere in Ravnica in the forseeable future, so your hawks should have no trouble.> Absently, Aggron rubs the back of one hand with the other, polishing it. <Where do I pick up that patch?>
As Gully starts to tread on the Flagstones the encircle the Fortress known as Sunhome she feels a sense of great justice wash over her. She walks up to one of the Wojek Gaurds and asks:
Hello Good Sir Guard. I heard that the Boros Legion is in need of some Mages; is this true?
Edit: OOC: @RedDwarfian: Just so that you know I want Gully to pick up a spell, Beacon of Creation, before she heads off on another Quest. Also, are we going to wait for a third player or no?
OOG: Yes, it'd be a good idea to bring someone with some healing spells.
IG: The man's eyebrows furrow, then he shrugs. Probably assuming that she's being sent on behalf of someone. He motions to a man who is addressing what looks like some kind of... well, it looks like it could be a bulky, shimmering Viashino that's walking on four legs.
"I think I have one right... ah," he says, and pulls out the patch. He looks at Aggron's shoulder, and pauses. "Er, perhaps I could attach it to, um, your scales... maybe?"
He recovers slightly. "Yes, of course. My apologies. We are hearing reports of a significant increase in Rakdosian activity near their border with the Golgari. With Guildpact forces occupied taking care of an... important matter..." he looks as if he shouldn't go into detail about that, "we are forced to ask for outside assistance."
OOC: Aw, I was in D&D this evening or I would have totally gotten in on this
IC: Aggron just takes the patch and shoves it onto his scales himself, forcing it into place. He grins as the young girl enters, recognizing from her words and her tone that she's quite a bit more than she appears....rather like himself. He listens to her banter with the clerk, enjoying his discomfiture a little, and he's interested to learn that his first job will actually be helping out his guild. However, he decides to just keep his mind shut and his ears open.
"Well, you and this, um, fellow here," he motions to the lizard, "will be heading into the sewers to basically break up any Rakdos activity you see there. We've received reports that the Golgari might have sent people in to break this up. While this is technically not against the Guildpact, as they are merely defending their property, um..." he leans in so only the two can hear him, "they are just as stretched as the Boros." Returning to his normal tones, he finishes, "We believe that the Rakdos are trying to set up some kind of... uh, well facility for lack of a better term, on the intersection of two Leylines. We want it investigated, and if necessary, and if found to be in violation of the Guildpact, broken up by any means necessary."
Gully looks to the "Lizard" to nods to him as the man speaks about him. She looks back to the man and continues to listen intently. She nods a little as he speaks, and as he mentions that "any means necessary" may be used "if necessary" an unsettling smile crosses her face for a moment.
I understand.
She says calmly with a slight nod of her head.
Is it just going to be the two of us or are you going to 'enlist' the services of more?
"Well, I was told to get three mages, but I believe we could do it with you two. However, when we're dealing with the Rakdos, it's a good idea to bring as many allies as you can. Preferably allies who can heal."
That could be a problem. Aggron looks over--for once, down instead of up--at the child who's supposed to assist him. 't actually heal wounds. Can you do that? Because otherwise, we'll probably want to wait for more help.>
<Yeah, I just. You know what my speech sounds like?> Aggron attempts to make human-speech noises from his mouth, and the result is much hissing and horrible noise.
Gully raises her eye brow and twitches at the sound.
I think that I prefer you talking in my head. As for healing abilities I think that I might be able to heal myself, but not you. Perhaps we should wait for a third?
<Bleah.> Aggron shakes his head vigorously, getting his tongue back into alignment. 't deal well with them using fire magic on me directly. Unless I dip into my savings, I can't change that very easily. Maybe we should wait for a third...Also, while we wait, do you want to have a practice battle? I have no idea how strong you are.>
If what you say is true, and you can hold back your opponents' creatures back turn after turn then a battle between the two of us is pointless. Unfortunately creature combat is my only means of beating anyone at the moment.
She says with a hint of annoyance in her voice at the truth of her statement.
I plan on fixing that once I learn how to channel another color of Mana...But, rest assured I can hold my own in a fight.
'm guessing you're a green mage.> Aggron looks at Gully sideways, thinking. <What color are you planning to learn? I use green and black mana, and it's been working well so far.>
I am, and I would be out to learn the same combination. Both sides of Gaea's cycle. One of the spells that I plan on gaining will allow my creatures to still inflict wounds despite any spell that would stop the damage they do.
Gully says with confidence.

Aggron begins to walk forward, then stops himself. <Where do I sign up?>

IC:
She looks over to the man and the shimmering Viashino, then back at the guard.
Thank you Good Sir.
She then turns and walks over to them.
Excuse me. I was told to come over here to find out about a Quest that the Legion may need done.
IG: He looks up. "Oh, yes we do need some assistance. Um, are you here on behalf of someone?"
Gully asked, genuinely confused.
Really??
I understand, I'm getting a lot of that.
She says begrudgingly.
Anyways, the Quest?
She thinks as he starts speaking. As he continues and speaks of the Rakdos and the Golgari, her interest is perked and she raises her eyebrow.
Interesting...A chance to duel against more Rakdos Mages and potentially gain some favor with the Golgari.
A smug smirk forms on her face with this thought.
I'm in.
She declares with an aire of command in her voice.
What info do you need from me and what more can you give?

'm Aggron, by the way.>
As she speaks she hears Aggron speak in her head. She stands confused for a moment.
Did you just...?
