<That sounds like a useful ability. I may need to look into it myself.> Aggron's tail weaves restlessly through the air as he thinks. Then he narrows his thought-speech down so that only Gully can hear him. 'm actually a member of the Golgari, and I can probably sponsor you if you want to enter. I don't know if I can teach you how to use black mana, but I can help you find someone who can. We can turn this mission into the kind of test the Golgari demand so much. I'm sure they'll be happy if we get rid of this threat to their lands. We just have to not mention afterwards that the Boros paid us.>
Aggron begins polishing his tailblade with his palm. 't talk about it in front of him. But think about it, and we can talk about it more once we're away from here.>
Then Aggron switches back to global thought-speech. Gully can tell the difference, although it's hard to put into words--the messages seem more diffuse, less concentrated. <So do we have time to wait for a third? I'm not especially excited about going up against them without a third or extra healing.>
He looks at the timepiece on his belt. "I would prefer if we have a third... but knowing the Rakdos, time may be of the essence. If we can't find anyone soon, I'll send you out, but I would suggest getting those healing spells you mentioned, and being prepared for just about anything."
Gully nods.
I will get them, but not until right before we are needed. My tastes in Spells is expensive and Gold is hard to come by, so the longer I can let my money sit Greel's the better. If that's okay?
OOC: Red, at the beginning of the Quest can I make a post saying that she goes and gets her money and buys the spells and returns? This would be what makes the most sense to me in this situation.
'm glad, because I have the same problem so I can use the same solution.> Aggron's been worrying about the cost of healing spells since the clerk had mentioned they'd need them. <Any particular threats we don't have to worry about? I can only maintain so many spells at a time, and I think I might have to leave some out...>
OOC: I also have this problem of a satchel point limit...
"I cannot say for sure as both the Rakdos and Golgari tend to have a wide range of spells. I would recommend bringing proof of your membership to the Golgari guild. This way there will be less chance of a misunderstanding in the sewers." Taking another look at the time piece at his waist he said, "We'll wait until sundown before sending you off with or without a third mage. That's the longest we can afford to wait."
Taking over this quest for RedDwarfian. Just in case a third player was contemplating joining this quest I will wait until this evening to post the actual quest. In the meantime go ahead and figure out what changes you would like to make to your satchels and send them in to all of the WPLs when I post the thread.
"Well we've waited long enough. We can no longer afford to push off your investigation. Quickly finish your business and meet me by the North gate. From there I will take you to the incident." spoke the clerk.
He then stood up and began walking away before calling back, "Remember time is of the essence now that we have waited so long."
He began to turn away again before stopping again and calling back, "Don't forget! NORTH GATE!"
"Thank you, both of you." He looks them over for a second before saying, "I'll need a night to figure out the logistics of this next mission. Return in the dawn to escort Lilium to the site, after you've had a chance to rest. You are free to stay in the Sunhome tonight unless you wish to retire elsewhere for the evening."
Enrich reaches under his side of the table and lifts a locked chest onto the table setting it down softly. Working the lock he pops it open and pulls out two bundles of gold coins. He tosses one to Cyouni and the other to Gully.
He smiles saying, "You've earned that reward. Now rest well tonight, for tomorrow we work!"
Jacob then ushered the two out of the room leaving Enrich to speak with Lilium. Jacob then guided them down to the third floor of the Sunhome showing the two to guest quarters that they could make use of. Saying his farewells he left the two alone.
Gully caught the bundle and peeked inside as Enrich spoke. Upon seeing what was inside she smiled and nodded.
Once alone with Cyouni she turns to him after waving goodbye to Jacob.
I hope that the Aggron made it and that we can hopefully find him.
She says in a down trodden tone.
I'm not too sure about Lilium. I've never seen anything like her wings.
"Same." Cyouni sits down on the bed. "That metal, though...it seems to be the same as what Aggron was coated with." He frowns, grasping at a half-remembered memory. "I think he might have mentioned something about it, but I can't remember exactly what it was..."
"I don't think so. That bastard...Lou...wasn't the type to let someone control him." Cyouni frowns. "Though it has been a long time between the last time I saw him and now, and he changed a lot between those two times."
"Sure. I'm not sure I need much, though." Cyouni feels a bit bad about deceiving the little girl, but it's in some fashion true - even had he not been bound to Lou, there was every likelihood that he'd have pursued Lou if he found a trace of the demon.
"What your grandfather taught you is mostly correct - the magic of the swamps has the tendency to corrupt. However, in the end, magic is still only a tool. What it's used for depends on it's practitioner." Cyouni lifts his left hand, back outwards. "The mana of the swamps is inclined towards dealing death - that's what I use it for. However, that does not mean anything about me, just as that doesn't mean a mage using the magic of the plains is inherently good." The last few words are bitter, filled with a long-held resentment towards someone...
I'm just going to go and say they're separate quarters, because that just makes sense.
Waving farewell to Gully with a quick "See you tomorrow", Cyouni finds his way to the room loaned to him, shutting the door firmly behind him. His tunic and boots come off. The tunic's folded and left on a table, while the boots are placed by the side of the bed.
Cyouni looks at the clothes, which have gone through a lot since he arrived at Estark. No matter the quality, the clothes won't last forever, and his have begun to show signs of wear and tear. He sighs. After this, he's definitely got to get some new clothes.
Pushing the thought out of his mind, Cyouni flops down onto the bed. However, images of what happened in the sewers begin replaying in his head, and it's a while before he falls into an uneasy sleep.
Gully waves her farewell to Cyouni and enters her room. After closing the door she reaches into her Satchel and pulls out what she needs to cleanse the room and goes about. After she sits on the bed and pulls out her journal and quill.
Dear Diary,
Much has happened since I last wrote. Lady Azusa blessed my wanting to join the Golgari. She doesn't like it, but she still blessed my wanting to join. Once I got to Ravnica, knowing that I still need to grow a little more before joining the Golgari, I went to find a Quest to join. This led me to the Sunhome of the Boros and paired me with a Golgari member called Aggron who is a Lizard. The Boros wanted us to investigate some happening in the sewers to do with Laylines of Mana.
Down in the sewers we ran into Cyouni, a friend of Aggron, and Lou and old enemy of both of them. Lou was trying to use the Laylines to bring an army of undead into Ravnica. Luckly we stopped him and forced him into his portal. Aggron followed him into the portal while Cyouni and I closed it and finished off the remaining undead. Now the Boros are having Cyouni and I help a metal winged Angel who is a member of Order of the Sphinx. The Order and the Boros are looking into other happenings that they think are linked with what was going on in the sewers.
I hope that Aggron is okay. His friend, Cyouni...I'm not sure about him. Aggron trusts him, so I will...For the moment at least, but I will need to watch him.
I hope that all goes well tomorrow. I need to get some sleep now. Good night.
She puts her Journal and quill away. She strips down, says a quick prayer to Gaea and goes to bed.
Cyouni rises an hour before dawn. Could have gotten more sleep, but he plans to be ready. If he's going to face anything close to the power Lou had, he's going to need all the help he can get.
---
Cyouni paces the room outside Enrich's office. It's past dawn by now, and he's itching to get going. Hoping that he can find some trace of Aggron.
That is, until the message from Korlash comes.
Resigning himself to giving up the search (or at least putting it off until later), he reports the news to the clerk and hurries back to Estark.

Yes, do we have time to wait?

Gully asks curiously.
She said almost sheepishly.
My grandfather taught me to be cautious of those who naturally wield the Mana of Death.
She says in her normal tone.
Anyways I am going to go and see Frankie's Ravnica shop and maybe pick up a spell or two. Would you like to come with?

Shall we be off?
OOC: Corrected my last post. Gully knows that Frankie has a shop in Ravnica.
