Estark is the home of the Grand Festival. The city is shaped like a pentagon, with each side representing a Color. The Grand Master’s Palace sits in the middle of the city. Each House of Magic sits around the Grand Master’s Palace, with each of their allied Houses to either side of them and their enemy Houses sitting across. The area behind each House is home to the common people of the city who cheer for that House come Tournament time.
This is for just general discussion among the Characters in the city. Meeting up to go to the arena, hanging out with those from another House and what not.
The people of Kush or the Grand Master, Squee, himself may issue a general Commission for any one to answer. Most Commissions issued by a commoner will be for Gold only, but some may be for spells. The few commissions that the Grand Master may offer will be for both Gold and Spells.
Scouts have reported that the city of Estark is under attack by a horde of very powerful machines and an unknown enemy. According to the Pacts under which our city is run, one representative of each house shall be called upon for this mission. Messengers have already been sent out to gather together representatives of each house to combat this monstrosity. Those who have been summoned are to sign this sheet to secure their arrival. Successfully defending this city will result in 1000 gold to be divided among the survivors.

Name: Arguas Kinneley
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Height: 5' 11" (1.7 meters)
Weight: 160 lbs (72.7 kg)
Appearance: Tall and slender, a noticeably kind face with a charismatic aura. Hair is short and well kept. Skin is light, deep blue eyes, with a robe of a matching color. Blade is sheathed and concealed under the right arm sleeve, a rope keeps the blade within its sheath, but a quick pull will loosen it at a moment's notice. Deep blue eyes are often concealed under a white hood. When cowed, he has an air of mystery, when proud, he appears quite the opposite. Lowest rims of hood are loosely woven, so he can see outwards while others cannot see inward.
House: Hanin
Guild: None
Level: 1
Exp: 0
Gold: 50
Arguas reaches the gates of the city, taking a moment to breath in the air. He has noticed that several other mages have begun to filter in, and steps aside for those who are new. He looks around, taking in the scent and sight of this big city. He folds the sleeves of his robes, one or another, and humbly begins to walk, looking around at the various wares around the city, silent as he looks for merchants. He looks for spells to purchase in particular.
Name: Erol Furnev
Age: 23
Gender: M
Race: Elf
Height: 6"6'
Weight: 180lb
Appearance:What one first tends to notice about Erol is that he is huge. Almost two meters of solid muscle. The next thing people usually notice is that he's an elf.He wears a small, rustic blue tunic, which hides basically nothing of his formidable upper body. His lower half is covered by thick leather breeches and crude yet stout boots. A dull-coloured dagger sits in a sheathe at his waste, along with a small leather satchel chained to his belt. House: None Guild: None
Erol walks through the city, seeking useful additions to his satchel.
Name: Edmond Fury
Age: 27
Race: Viashino
Gender: Male
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 160 LB
Appearance: Before you stands an imperious figure, clearly of aristocratic origin. He stands tall and cold, like most of noble birth, however his hard grey eyes can oft be seen turning to a fiery red, or a dark blue, depending on his mood. He is clothed in a set of crimson robes, with a long flowing cape of the purest red. His scales are of fine green, with an orange tint. His mouth boasts a sharp, white set of teeth. His forked tongue darts in and out on occasion.
Despite his high standing, Edmond is not the sort to see common folk as mere cattle, indeed, he feels that he and the aristocracy as a whole can learn a great deal from the most interesting of the lower classes - an attitude that has often gotten him into trouble (and often dangerous duels) with the other members of the aristocracy - especially those that favour blue magic, of whom Edmond sees as the most arrogant jackasses that the world has to offer. For this reason, he has left his noble rank and standing at home in the mountains. But do not take this sense of willingness to learn as a sign of weakness - for Edmond will not tolerate weaklings of any make, no matter their position in society.
He also carries a finely-crafted iron dagger in a sheath in his boot. (note: Soul: "SHEATH" :p)
House: none Guild: none Level/Exp: 1/0 Gold: 50 0
Edmond wanders aimlessly through the city, looking for work.
A fairly large notice has been posted outside the Grand House.

Upon the announcement, his name in large blue letters was scrawled across the board, without him even writing anything.
The messenger stood alongside him. "They will approach the city likely within the next day or two. Now that you are confirmed, you may go back to your House and prepare, whatever that means for you."
Just as Kashani uttered these words, his name in large black letters was scrawled across the board, without him even writing anything.
The messenger stood alongside him. "They will be coming soon... Now that you are confirmed, you may prepare in whatever way you wish. You will receive a message to come together when the time is upon us."
Right after Tyler uttered the words of his acceptance, his name was sprawled across the sign in large red letters without him even picking up a pen. The words he said afterwards began to be written, but then actually erased themselves.
Three messengers have now returned to the city, and they hear the words of Tyler. They approach him.
"Dragon Engines!"
"War machines!"
"Contraptions!"
The other two look at him funny. He then shrugs.
"We are told to hold a briefing once all are ready to be gathered."
"We think that only if all of the houses combine their strengths will victory be allowed."
"Some of them can't be destroyed even by spells that destroy artifice!"
The other two look at the third again. The first turns to the brother. "that is only speculation."
"And rumormongering."
The third has enough courage to speak again.
"We don't know who's leading them."
All three of them looked at each other and the brother. "We hope the other representatives will come soon. But for now, if you have any more preparation to take care of, now is the time to do them, as we wait for your next two companions. We also suggest that, if you can find them, to converse with your companions in this mission."
Wynn hurried to the town square, spell satchel in hand. She hoped there would be time to make a quick errand, she had just remembered she needed one last gem...
"I am Wynn Aeros and I'm representing the Benalia Paladins." She said aloud hoping whoever was in charge heard it.

"Challange me with your strongest, I will paint my sword with their blood"
Wynn hurried to the town square, spell satchel in hand. She hoped there would be time to make a quick errand, she had just remembered she needed one last gem...
"I am Wynn Aeros and I'm representing the Benalia Paladins." She said aloud hoping whoever was in charge heard it.
As her name was uttered, There was a flash of light, and Wynn's name was written in large and elegant gold letters across a large sign in front of the house, even without her lifting a finger!
"Well met Wynn, now we're just short of House Shanodia which may well give you the time you need to fetch your spells. I would request that when their representative turns up we start discussions on what the plan is. I 'ave a few ideas but alot o' them rely on location of the battle site. If any of us gathered have a winged beast it'd be most 'preachated if you could send one to scout the forces from the air. Unfortunatly I don't have any thin' suitible for this task."
OOC: Three things:
1) Could we have a temp thread set up for discussion of tactics as doing this via PM five way could turn into a logistical nightmare.
2) In the old magical words of RP everywhere "What do I see". In this case I'm asking what the fortifications of the city are like (If we have any) number of gates and such.
3) Is send a sentiant flying creature (if any of us have one) out to scout out the enemy for numbers and distance from the city okay? Do you have a battle location arranged all ready or can we act on this?
The messengers look at each other. "Preparation may take any form you want!"
"You may come inside the Grand Hall for a bit..."
"Or you could stay out here and talk! Whatever is your choice... this place is a public meeting area, but you all will be briefed when everyone is here, so we don't repeat ourselves."
Around the city was a large stone wall that enclosed the city. There were ramparts from which the soldiers of the city are likely to be able to fire arrows. It is no fortification or castle, but it is reasonably well defended, from what Brother Tyler can see.
Sending a flying scout is considered a preparation, so you may do so
//OOC if we do scout we could go prepair a bit ahead of time or prepair and wait to ambush them.(the reason I put this ooc is because i wanted to know if such things would be allowed)
Another valid strategy. This city may be used as a forum for discussion.
Remember people, this is an RPG. If you want, in non-combat situations, you may develop your characters by interacting with each other! This seems like a very good time to do so, while discussing strategy.
The messengers, at the very least, seem very impressed. Four of them now are in attendance, and the third of them claps for a minute. Quickly noting the stares, he stops.
The fourth one approaches the drunkard. "If you wish, you may study this map a bit before the last companion reaches our grand house."
The messenger takes out a case slung about his chest from beneath his robe. He opens up this circular case and unfurls a map from inside and hands it to Brother Tyler.
Upon examination, Brother Tyler observes that the north side of the city is the direction being spoken of. The closest house to the area being attacked is House Benalia, and the main gate that is being referred to is not on that side of town. It's a side gate, and a couple of the towers are within striking range. There is a road leading past the gates over a relatively flat plane. To either side are clusters of trees, and a small river flows admist a very small indent in the land parallel to the wall. It is barely a stream though, and not really very deep at all, but enough to hold a streaming bit of water. While flat, there is a slight elevation increase from the western forest to the eastern side, with the stream running between the two and vaguely passing between. It should be noted that this is quite slight.
Off in the distance a bit further is a set of hills, criss-crossing which is a general path, mostly for beginning travel. This path generally passes to the west after a certain distance to the north. Beyond that are visible hills... not towering mountains, but clearly elevated. Brother Tyler guesses that there is a possibility that if an opponent had siege weaponry, they MAY be able to reach the town from that height.
What advantages does this terrain provide? In the case of an invasion, the high ground off in the distance provides no advantage whatsoever for the opponent. In fact, the small towers that can reach this end can easily allow archers to fire at oncoming opponents. Pincers are possible between the two forests, especially if they can force an opponent into the tiny river basin, which distracts normal human opponents as they attempt to gather themselves. Emotionless invaders are likely to be more problematic. However, archers can have a pretty decent shot at those opponents who take to the skies. If fighting a ground war, this can become difficult. Fortunately also, defenders can use spiders to prepare near-invisible nets starting at the level of the hills in the distance, and perhaps catch some low flying opponents, or perhaps even slow them down. However, this is only a logistical possibility, not one that may be practiced. Again, this wholly depends on the kinds of opponents who are present in this fight.
This is what Malley observes when he first glances upon the map.
"I ask you one last thing, can you run a message to Tarngarthand and ask if he is willing for the young and the elderly to gather in our halls during the attack, our halls are the strongest in the city and I do not want 'arm coming to our people. 'F he argees send word around the town that there is to be a feast in the halls of Hammerheim tonight devoted to the two most important satges o' life, I don't wan' 'em in panic if this goes wrong. If there be any problems tell Tarn I'm footing the bill, it might take awhile for me to balance it. After that I want all men and w'men of fighting age to meet 'ereand I warn ya, if I find yous been spreading trouble and panic wid this message you'll have me to answer to!"
...
"Oh and lads!"
he says turning to the messengers,
"I'll have the map back to ya in the morning after we killed the buggers!"
*OOC*
I'm on UK time and not going to be around till tomorrow midday. I'm happy for Arguas to respond as Tyler (I have a feeling you know what I'm going to suggest in general) if I need to respond and if it's kosher with him. However please don't start the battle with out me, if I know I'm not going to be about after we've made the plan then I'll PM a set of responces to Arguas for my moves. Thanks Arguuas in advance.
OOC: There is plenty I could say about this, but I will choose to personally say very little. I will say that I love the role play that you're doing with this, as well as that I think I know what you're going to ask. However, until you propose it to me, I'll let you do what you wish here: This IS an RPG after all. I have, of course, a set plan, and I will have that plan react according to the actions you take. Which makes this even more fun for me Plus, you can already guess that this is designed to be a fairly... interesting mission, and I'm happy that at least one person has gotten really into it so far at least publicly.
Final Fantasy 6: The Returners
Now to narration.
The four messengers appear to be extremely nervous about this proposal. "What would Tahngarth say to a bill that size?"
They whispered amongst each other, then finally decided to approach Brother Tyler with a piece of paper. "If you place your request on this paper, we will send it out to Tahngarth." Tyler looks at the paper, groggily, and manages to write out a message with a pen provided from one of the messenger's caps and an ink bottle. After the document was signed, the messenger that Brother Tyler approached the house with returned to the house of the Hammerheim Sorcerers.
"What we need is coordination. If all of us are flinging spells without respect for the rest of us, it'll be hard to do much." Wynn spoke up, now that everyone had assembled.
"However, if we can line up our moves to deal the most damage, we have a much better chance of making it out alive. As for scouting, leave it to me." Wynn started to concentrate. a white aura beginning to envelop her.

The other messengers at the house nod at the final member. As Erol says his name, his name is etched in green letters on the sign in front of the grand house, without him even lifting a finger.
The messengers gather, the 4 that are currently present.
"A message will now be sent out to gather everyone back together here to discuss the details, and the strategy. For now, Erol Furnev, please gaze upon the records that have been recorded here as to how things are developing so far:
All have been recorded by official documents of the messengers. The others will gather here soon."
EDIT: Charge it all in one post. For situations where magic is used outside of combat, it simply takes a short while to cast. If combat is pending immediately afterwards, that spell is lost for the duration of the match. Also, from here on, all people who are present at this time may "hear" all other posts that are made involving strategy discussion, in terms of Role Play. I shall give more details when i get a chance next.
@Wynn: Are you planning on riding the mount with which you will scout, or will you just send the creature on its own to scout?
Wynn also decided to chime in. "My house is closest to the attackers, so I should have some say. My spells are more expensive, but powerful once I can get the off. I'll be in great shape once I gather enough mana. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some scouting to do." After saying this, Wynn was enveloped in a white light, lifting her from the ground. Her entire body was energized by the light, calming, soothing, healing. Soon after, the light subsided, leaving wynn in the same position as before, but with two angel's wings on her back. Without another word, she leapt into the sky, her newborn wings keeping her aloft as she investigated.

Now that I'm here, I will correct your map a bit you've mostly got it right, except for a few things.
a) The forests need to be spread out a bit further to their respective sides. There is a relatively open field right outside the gate that the road cuts through, and thus your trees are too close together. The west grouping is further west, and the east grouping of trees is further east.
b) the river runs perpendicular to the road near the entrance rather than parallel. There is a small bridge which connects the road on either end of it, and the stream runs from west to east near the entrance to the city... or the gate, I should say.
If you make these changes, then you're good
I will be PMing Wynn the results of her scouting. She basically Embraced herself
Wynn raced back into the city airspace and skidded to a halt in front of the other defenders. She was out of breath and her wings shimmered before quickly vanishing. After a minute, she spoke.
"Basically, we're facing a ton of metal war machines lined up to kill the city. I saw at least 10 dragon engines, at least 4 of them were on the move...and that thing...it's just a huge metal...behemoth. I don't know if it can be destroyed normally, just that it's insanely big. there were also some metal insects that tried to shoot me down...just barely missed them..." Wynn was still in shock. she didn't know exacty what the metal monstrosities were, but she had to try to describe them...
"The good news, if you can call it that, is that there's one mage pulling all the strings. take out the puppeteer, all the puppets go limp. take out the mage, all the destruction should grind to a halt." She quickly turned to the red mage. "Do you have anything that can destroy those things, like smash or shatterstorm? that alone could tip the scales in our favor..."
OOC: the DC and wasps are just assumptions based on the scouting report's flavor. the engines, however, were specifically mentioned by card name and number, so I'm positive of those.

a) The forests need to be spread out a bit further to their respective sides.
