Warbeard's Weapon Hall is just a stone's throw away from Frankie's Spell Shop. Its a 'hole-in-the-wall' shop that carries only the finest in weapons, all lined up along either wall. Warbeard sits in the back behind the counter on his stool waiting on his next customer.
Warbeard's Weapon Hall is now a commission-based location for a certain amount of customization for weapons. That does not mean that there are not any of the old weapons for sale. There are three of each selection. Other than that, there is a new price list.
Sword and Shield.....................350 Gold
Pro: Gives user 2/1 [can deal 2 damage and it will absorb 1] stat bonus
Con: -1 Casts
Lance....................................300 Gold
Pro: Gives user 2/0 and first strike
Con: -1 Casts
Commissioned Weapon Price List:
To commission a totally new weapon base: 50 gold plus price of upgrades
To add +1 damage or toughness: 50 gold +50 gold for each previous upgrade of either type
To add a keyword: Varies per each keyword
Keywords available
First Strike: 100 gold
Double strike: 100 gold (requires First stike upgrade)
Nettle: 350 gold (functions as a provoke on one creature)
Mana Channeling (3 to give +1/+0 until end of turn): 350 gold
Weapons suffer -1 casting penalty. This increases to a -2 penalty for double strike weapons, Nettle weapons, and weapons upgraded with more than 3 upgrades. This may be brought down at the cost of 150 gold. This reduction may only be applied to weapons that already have a -2 penalty and may only be applied once.
You may only wield 1 weapon at 1 time
Also of note: through cooperation with other shops, Warbeard's Weapon Hall is now the only place that sells equipment spells.
Another note: You may only upgrade your weapon once so choose wisely.
OOC: Two ideas; First, maybe you should see about getting the shops all stickied, so they don't get lost. With you guys being mods and all, that shouldn't be a problem.
Second, how open are you guys to "custom" weapons? More specifically, I'm intrested in the Lance (can't afford it right now, though), but my character doens't like lances; he wants an axe. Would I be able to request an axe that has the exact same effects as the lance, and Warbeard "makes" it for me?
Yes the base stats you see are just that. We can have any form of the weapons made. So if you want a axe that is a 2/0 first strike thing it is completely doable.

OOC: If someone had, like, a thousand gold, could he/she get a really, really good weapon custom built for them, like something that gave them +3/+0 and Double Strike (Maybe a large double edged sword?). or something like that? Also will we be able to buy armor eventually? Will that have various ratings, like leather is +0/+1 and steel is +0/+4?
OOC:I just want to say that the characters we all play for are mages- not the warriors. So speking about really big bonuses from various items (swords/armors/shields/whatever) makes me nervous. But maybe that's just me.
OOC: I think thats why they're so overpriced, that player gains a major advantage were they able to mow down a 2/2 every turn without wasting a spell...

In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like to to occur and validate you.
Or a 6/1 trampler with haste (Groundbreaker)
Or anything else that has a toughness of 1 or 2, regardless of power Spark Elemental is another example
Also, because of the fact that flying creatures have to come down out of the sky to hit the mage, then it is entirely reasonable that the mage would also be able to hit a flying creature with the lance or sword, effectively giving the mage reach as well.

Someone once asked me why, when I talk about House Dimir, I don't put the word "the" in front of it.
At the time, I had no answer, but it just came to me.

Kagdinel enters the small shop. He begins eyeing the various weapons, admiring the craftsmanship of them, even picking some of them up and inspecting their edges. Without looking away from the double-edged axe he's holding, he asks Warbeard, Did you make all of these yourself?
A minotaur walks into the shop and looks to the dwarf. "Kagdinel, I bring a message from Fumiko. We have managed to clear up some smudges and detect some of the text beneath. Be ready to leave shortly. House Hammerheim is providing transport."

"Certainly, sir. What sort of enhancements would you like on this weapon and what shape would you like it to be?"
"I would like a sword, with the following enhancements," Ti'rin slides a scrap of parchment across the counter.
OOC: With a lack of anything else to do, I shall PM the WPLs with my weapon request . . .

Warebeard: Well I regret to say it but I have not quite finished it yet. I am missing a critical part of the blade that allows it to be enchanted so much. I thought I had one but that last raid on my shipments must have lead to the loss of it. So as of right now the blade is incomplete.

If neither is forthcoming, then you and I will go before the Azorius courts, and I think they'd be more inclined to find in favor of me over you."

Warbeard: Oh but this will never reach the corts. The Orzov will see to that. Now as I was saying before if you want the sword done go and get the gem. Otherwise you can have it as it is but I can't guarentee that it won't break after a few swings. I guess you also missed my little sign over there to.
The sign reads (odd you didn't notice it before). Any individual commisioning this establishment can in no way recieve a refund for work already done. Any attempt to do so will result in legal action taken by Orzov law. More comes after it but it really is just saying you are stuck with the work he has done and what you have paid and if you want it perfect you will need to go and get that gem. Sometimes the Orzov seem to work agaisnt everyone.
Warbeard: Now do you want the half finished sword or do you want it completed.

"Well, completed of course. And that lovely disclaimer that you just happened to put out is probably a result of your caravan being robbed, but the primary query was not to receive a refund for work already done, but to receive a refund for supplies not in stock. That's fair, isn't it? You didn't have an item in stock, so why should I have to pay for it? You're asking me to retrieve it, that's asking me to risk life and limb for something that you need to finish something that I commissioned from you and already paid for. Therefore, either you reward me for the retrieval or refund the cost of the as-yet-unused gem or I will file the complaint. Whether or not it wins in the courtroom doesn't matter. I will try you in the court of public opinion. How long will you remain in business when no one will purchase from you because you lose items and expect your commissioning customers to go get them at no cost to you?"
