I wish to cast Mending Hands on the Griffin targeted by the Hanabi Blast.
I'm guessing that this is like summoning the Griffins we're on, outside 'normal' combat rules and that I don't need to go through the motions of talking about tapping lands and other details of a game turn, right?
Talnin desperately tries to cast in the middle of a frantic griffin flight. Using the same defensive spell that served him well back in the cave, he attempts to protect the griffin carrying Eavath from the Akkis' attack.
"Hold on tight!" Talnin yells at Eavath as a precaution.
Although things are moving fast, Talnin attempts to look in his immediate surroundings, seeing if there's any place he can lose the Akki without drawing them nearer to the bandits' camp.
The fire slams into the shielded griffin, and when the smoke fades, the griffin remains unharmed.
If they go deeper into the mountains, it'd head away from both the akki and the visible bandit's camp.
The akki leader doesn't look too pleased at his spell being stopped, though it's a little hard to see at this distance. As the griffins get further away, the mage takes a last shot at stopping them; a spiraling line of flame arcs towards the griffin that Eavath's on.
Talnin smiles as he sees the Goblins realise that they cannot keep up and that their pursuit has lost momentum - a smile that abruptly vanishes as he sees their leader attempt a final attack.
Talnin reacts as quickly as possible, attempting to shield Eavath's griffin once more with his defensive spell.
Caught quite literally between a rock and a hard place, Talnin decides to urge the griffins further into the mountains, not willing to give the Akki another chance at shooting him down.
OOC:
Talnin casts Mending Hands on Eavath once more.
Witnessing Talnin prevent the fire spells from killing Eaveth's griffin, Uldran conceded to him a bit. Maybe that pesky white magic has its uses... he thinks to himself, knowing that if there was another one of him that they would all be dead right now.
As the griffins fly deeper into the mountains, Uldran doesn't feel more comfortable with their new locale. The only thing that relieves him is the fact that the mob has stopped.
OOC: That would depend on whether or not I could cast TWO Mending Hands :P.
Talnin at last breathes a sigh of relief.
"How are you all doing?" he asks the group.
Once Talnin was satisfied with the distance between them and the Akki, he lands the griffins and looks at the captured Akki. Talnin thought he heard the Akki say something, but he isn't certain - he wants to make sure that the Akki was actually attempting to communicate to them before considering loosening the gag.
As Uldran loosens the gag before Talnin can stop him, he tenses up in case the Akki decides to make a loud noise, but loosens up once he sees that the Akki is in a cooperative, if not at least completely hostile, mood.
"Hey, maybe we just got off on the wrong foot!" Talnin says more than a little awkwardly.
"But all we were doing was tryin' to find a goblin - not even one of your kind - and we thought we'd go through the tunnels. We didn't mean to disturb nobody! But you guys attacked us without so much as a 'hello'."
Talnin huffs.
"Look, we're not out to hurt anybody. Not if we can help it. I'm sorry we...killed some of your kind back there, but it was only in self-defence." Talnin says as reassuringly as possible, which he is pleasantly surprised to find is easy to do, given that it is the truth. "But we're new to these parts and there's someone we need to find. Now, pretend you're a goblin from....a faraway land, and you've just turned up in this part of Kamigawa. Like...you're running away. If you wanted a find a place to lay low for a while...to hide...where would you go?"
"Oh great, I didn't know goblins had comedians." Talnin mutters to Uldran and Eavath. "Look, maybe one of you guys are better at this sorta thing than me, but don't be too rough, huh?"
Uldran is wondering about something, and confers with Talnin and Eavath about it. "Hey, did either of you get a good look at this 'boss'? Maybe he is the one we want?"
Leaving them to ponder the idea, Uldran walks over to the goblin. "So, how long has this Boss of yours been around?" he trails off.
"I would answer quickly goblin..." Uldran suggests, rather menacingly. He pulls out his dagger, shows the goblin his fangs, and mutters, "I'm getting hungry."
OOC: Were we ever given a timeframe for how long the goblin has been on Kamigawa for? To the point where, "A while." could even come close, or did he get over the day before we left Greels?
"No, Uldran...I didn't get a very good look at their 'boss', but I could at least tell that he looked like our friend over here," Talnin says jerking a thumb at the captive Akki. "The guy we're after is from Lorwyn...the gobbos there look a fair bit uglier, I reckon."
"Are you sure this is the same Akki we gagged back in the cave? He seems...I dunno...a little sedate?"
Uldran cocked his head to the side a bit. He was a lot more sedate than the other one, and Uldran started to lose the little bit of hope he had that they stumbled onto the right goblin.
He looked over at the akki quick, then back to Talnin. "I believe you to be correct." He nods, "But, where do we go from here then?"
"Nah, it was just a rhetorical question, my bloodsucking friend! We only captured the one Akki - it's the same guy."
Turning back to the Akki, Talnin asks "Why do you follow your 'boss', anyway? I'm sure there's a lot of good-looking goblins out there who can throw fireballs at people they've just met."
The question sounded less odd in Talnin's head than when he spoke it, but he knows that the experience that this goblin leader has might be important in his quest to find the thief from Greel's.
OOC to Cyouni: Can I ask Eavath to chime in? If the player himself is no longer continuing, are you going to be roleplaying him on the player's behalf? Or retconning him out or something?

If I send you into a game turn, you'll know when.
He shot a glance at him, yelling, "TALNIN! THAT"S YOURS!"
"Hold on tight!" Talnin yells at Eavath as a precaution.

Spiraling Embers for 4.

Eavath's griffin's struck by the fire, but Talnin's spell stops it from dying.
The griffins keep flying, and the groundlocked akki fall behind and out of sight.
Their akki prisoner squirms a bit, with some muffled noises making it through the gag.
Talnin at last breathes a sigh of relief.

The akki shoots a glare at Talnin.
A bit more struggling, a bit more muffled noises making it through the gag.
"What do you guys think?" Talnin asks to Uldran and Eavath, indicating the gag over the Akki's mouth with a tilt of his head. "Think he'll behave?"
Uldran glares at the akki, then walks over and slips off the gag just a bit, enough so that the muffled noises can become vague words.
"Spill it." he commands, again as intimidating as his bright red eyes will allow.
"Hey, maybe we just got off on the wrong foot!" Talnin says more than a little awkwardly.

There's a slightly sarcastic edge to the goblin's question.

Depends on how long "a while" is.
Plus, you never asked how long. You may be able to infer something from the gold amounts and interest rates...
