This thread is for the character Rivel, Tik-Tik, and Kark belonging to Wingslost, Shalako, and SeraphPrime. Anyone besides a WPL and the ones listed posting here will be struck down by my secret army of ninja kittens in their sleep!
Chloe waited outside the tavern for the hired mages to follow. While waiting she strapped her belongings to a horse from the family farm. Checking that she had everything she needed for the trip she then looked for her mages to show up...
Chloe glanced at the mark the elf left on the ground before giving Rivel a sheepish grin saying, "I'm glad you'll be able to assist my family."
She took a moment taking in Rivel's features letting her eyes settle on his ears before asking, "Are you a druid? I know that's a silly question since you're an elf. But still..."
"Its not a silly question, but yes I am a druid," Rivel answers. "I noticed you took interest in the marking I made. I use it to keep track of where I have been," Rivel states. "Watch," he tells Chloe as its glows green, then the light and the mark fades away.
"Wow." muttered Chloe at the display of magic that a farm girl rarely gets to see. Then looking back to Rivel she asked, "Do you have any qualms with making these bandits pay for what they've done to my family?"
Rivel found it difficult to tell what kind of answer she was expecting from him. If he had to guess than it would be in that she is hoping for Rivel to be willing to punish the bandits to a severe extent.
OOC: Most web browsers like Firefox allow you to click the show button to reveal what is inside. I use the spoiler tags to hide out of character information as I hate seeing it interrupt the flow of the story telling. It's too early for you to have a mana related ability to marking locations with a magic imprint, especially one related to blood as that falls into black magic category. In this case you can explain it away as a subtle mark like graffiti that you are highlighting through channeling your mana into the mark. Thus it can act as a visual marker but not a compass type marker related to magic.
Rivel nods his head and says "I promise you they will be punish for what they have done. To pick on the meek for such simple gains is unacceptable".
I can open the spoiler tags fine so you can use them. I figured everything out about the tag. Also the mark is as you say just a mark. I read earlier in other posts about abilities. Maybe later I will do something with it later, but not until a couple levels. I plan on moving in to black mana and Rivel has family history of black mana, but the reason I use blood is cause I want to attach my life essence to is and just in case I turn this into something later.
Chloe smiles widely as she sees the group gather outside the tavern. Then turning to her horse, she quickly mounted and looked to the others asking with a small frown, "Do all of you have mounts that you can ride to make the journey to the farm shorter?"
Kark starts checking the inside of his long ragged coat. I have this ornithopter scroll that I got but never had a chance to use. I assume it's large enough for me and the Goblin...
Keep in mind Shalako that Han's will want you to reimburse him for the scroll of Ornithopter when you return. So you can choose to use the scroll for faster travel for yourself and Tik-Tik.
Chloe frowned at Kark and talked in a voice lacking confidence saying, "I doubt my horse would be able to keep up with an Ornithopter. But I suppose you could travel with Tik-Tik ahead of myself and Rivel. Perhaps you two could land at the edge of the forest south of hear and make camp while you wait for us to catch up. From the edge of the southern forests it's only half a day's journey by foot to the farm..."
She let her voice trail off as she looked for guidance from the other three mages.
"That sounds acceptable. I will stay with you, Chloe, and keep you safe and the other two take to the sky. They will be ahead of us, so they have time scout ahead and even try to see if they can find the bandits camp from the sky." Rivel looks to his companions "Is this acceptable to you two?"
Looking torn the goblin seems to be caught in a dilemma. While Tik-Tik would enjoy another ride on one of those toys. Perhaps it best if Tik-Tik walks. Reaching down and rubbing his midsection. Tik-Tik will get fat.

Get Familiar!
No matter how hard you try, you can't stop us now!
Nodding in agreement, Chloe gave a small tap to the side of her horse to get it moving at a slow trot. The group had to weave itself around dozens of gathered people for the daily market. Eventually though they turned onto the main road where the traffic was lighter and faster.
Within fifteen minutes of leaving the tavern they were at the South Gate being cleared. From there it was a simple matter of heading south down to the farm.
Pulling out a flask of water, she took a swig before asking, "How do you three plan on hunting and taking down the bandits once we get to the farm?"
"The last time they came was at night." she looked down into her hands before continuing. "That time they lit one of our crops on fire to distract us... We had no choice but to ignore them and keep the flames from spreading. When the dawn came we were able to douse the flames, but when we checked the barn we found over half of our supplies and livestock gone."
She shook her head in anger saying, "Not once have the cowards attacked during the day. They always choose to strike at night. That one time when they burned our crop was when we tried to get a local militia to fight them off. They responded by threatening our lively hood."
She glanced towards Rivel with tears in her eyes saying, "That's why we're investing so much into all of you. Either you'll get our property back teaching those bandits a lesson they'll take to the grave. Or..."
She squeezed her eyes shut trying to ward of the thought saying, "Or... We're hoping things don't come to or..."
She seemed filled with sorrow at that thought of her family's predicament.
I think it's likely they'll attack the barn again. We could all stay inside it and wait for them to attack it again.
Do you know the number of raiders?
"No, I'm afraid not." spoke Chloe with her head turned away to hide the tears that were just on the edge of flowing out from the memory. "They always come at night and use the crops to mask their numbers. I do know that they must have at least six raiders every time they show up. Does that help you?"
Tik-Tik thinks we should stop them before they get the crops again. The goblin stops rummaging about in his pockets and looks rather serious about the conversation at hand.
