Kira...she wants Neld to be a good man, but he isn't. As for watching, I will allow you to stay a little longer and observe, so long as you can observe quietly.
As Athy finishes her sentence a knock can be heard at the door.
We can speak more after this is finished.
She says quietly to Xiras.
Enter.
The door opens and in comes Faust and Kira. Kira gives her sister a head nod and she returns it. Kira escorts Faust to his seat and then takes her place standing to the side of her sister's chair.
Now that you both are here we can get down to business. First here is the promised 50 Gold that the original contract was to reward.
She says as Kira places two small bundles in front of either Mage.
Now for your extra Gold.
She says she Kira places two smaller bundles in front of the Mages.
I am honestly a little upset by the small amount that the Syndicate added, only 11 more Gold, but I'm sure that the two of you will put it to good use.
Xiras gives a slight nod tio Athy then turns to see the others head in.
Xiras slides the two bundles off the table, they fall into his awaiting satchel with a satisfying clink.
"Thank you, I was glad to be of service and there is no need to apologise for the amount the guild provided your hospitality more than makes up for it"
Xiras smiles, then reaches into his satchel to produce two scrolls of spell snare which he places gentlely upon the table.
"As per the terms of the contract we were required to relinquish these if they were unused but perhaps, if you feel dissatisfied with the guilds reward, these scrolls could have been expended in the battle?"
OOC: edited my active character profile to include the extra gold.
Saying so he picks up his bundles and tucks it away into his robe. He notices Xiras handing back his scrolls and quickly realises that he still had his as well.
He searches his pockets for them, then collects them up in a bundle and lays the scrolls neatly down next to Xiras's unused ones.
The food and bed given to us is bonus enough. You don't need to feel like you owe us anything more.
Faust gives Xiras a questioning look, then inquires, Might I ask what it is Xiras will be staying for?
He wants to stay til their job is completely done, not wanting to leave if there were unfinished business.
Although even more confused now, Faust can see that this was a private matter. Satisfied that his part in the job is completed, Faust stands up and motions that he is ready to go.
Thanks for the gold. I'm sure I'll find it very useful.
Then turning to Xiras he gives the moonfolk a bow.
It was a pleasure working with you. I honestly don't know if I'll be alive right now if I didn't have your help. I hope that we'll have the chance to work together again one day, when we are both more competent mages.
Xiras stands and bows back to Faust, impressed with the gesture.
"Well that is a gesture I didn't expect given that I recall you forgetting to introduce yourself just a few days ago. I can honestly say I have enjoyed working you as well and I shall look forward to the day our paths cross again, whether it be a friendly duel in the Estark Arena or a job elsewhere.
I wish you safe travels Faust."
He turns to Kira
"It has great working with you too Kira, look after yourself and I hope to meet again in future"

Smile your day could be worse, so I did smile and it was worse.
Athy and Kira both nod to Faust after he thanks them. Kira escorts Faust out of Athy's office. Kira kisses Faust on the cheek just after the door closes.
I wanted to thank you personally for all of your help with the Cleric Mage, the Keldons and Neld.
~~~~~~~~~~
After the door closes Athy returns to what she was saying:
If you are truly wanting to watch, then I will have you act as my Dark Confident in my sister's stead. This means that you must be quiet and record everything. From every movement made, every tool used, every spell cast, and word spoken. Do I make myself clear?
"Sometimes as a child I had to play scribe during my father his diplomatic meetings, one time I made the childish folly of interjecting and the meeting took a turn for the worse, needless to say I was reprimanded fairly severly for the action."
He pauses clearing his mind of thoguhts of the past.
"Point is I learned to hold my tongue well and I became a competent scribe, so I should be up to the task of being your dark confident. I'm ready to begin when you are"
Faust blushes from his feet to the tips of his hair as Kira's lips brushed his cheek, catching a trace of her sweet scent, fruity and exotic, not too over bearing, just enough to make someone interested. He can't help but wonder if it is her perfume or if it is just her natural fragrance.
He manages to quickly stammer, No p-problem. My p-pleasure.
Kira blushes a little after seeing the effect her kiss had on Faust.
So, I shall escort you out to the front of the Manor. I have a scroll of Pegasus for you to fly back on. This way.
She says as she takes his hand.
~~~~~~~~~~
Good.
She says as her eyes turn a milky white. Behind her the wall moves and a stairwell is reviled. He eyes return to normal as the movement stops. She pulls out a quill and a seemly simple scroll from a deck drawer and hands them to Xiras.
Let us get down to it then.
She says as she stands and walks over to the stair.
Xiras watches intently as she opens the passage with her mind, magic such a fascinating thing. He accepts the quill and the scroll when hand them and follows Athy silently eager to begin.

A pegasus!
The chance of flying on one of the winged horses is too good an opportunity to pass up. He assumes that the horses will be a bit more smooth with their flight, unlike the bats he had ridden on at the start of the job. The idea was so appealing he almost didn't notice Kira holding his hand.
Almost.
Once they are outside Kira hands Faust the scroll.
Be well Faust. You will be welcome here any time.
~~~~~~~~~
Athy leads Xiras down to a torch lit stone encased room. In the middle of the room Neld kneels, bound by an Ætheral Pillory. Around the room are three large thrulls, between them are many different 'medial' instruments on tables and hooked to the walls. A runed circles appears on the ground as they enter the room. Athy waves her hand and the thrulls disappear.
Faust gives Kira a deep bow, almost bending doubled over.
I appreciate the generosity you and your sister have shown me.
Then he straightens up and says more lightly,
Will definitely be coming back, especially if that welcome comes with more of that food I had.
He takes the pegasus scroll and begins to chant. However unlike with the other scrolls he was given, this one causes him great difficulty. He trips over most of the words, until he figures out what is wrong. Red faced he hands the scroll back to Kira.
Although I do plan on wielding white mana some day, I'm gonna have to ask for your help with this today.
So much for trying to impress her with your magical talents...
He quickly presses down the critic part of his mind.
Kira takes the scroll and reads it aloud. Within moments the Pegasus appears. Kira hands Faust the scroll back.
You'll need it to keep him under control. Enjoy your flight back.
~~~~~~~~~~
A smirk crosses her features as she sees him nod and continue to take notes. She walks over to one of the tables and picks up a well used cat-of-nine-tails with blades on the ends. She starts with it and works her way around the room using the various items to inflict physical pain upon Neld. After she finishes working his body over, she returns the most recently used tool and wipes sweat from her brow. She makes a throne appear directly in front of Neld and she takes a seat, crossing her legs. She releases the runes that make up the floor, but keeps Neld in his Ætheral Pillory. As the effects of the runes start to fade pain envelops Neld, forcing screams of agony to come pouring from this throat. Athy closes her eyes and takes them in with a smile about her face. As his cries cease Athy's eyes open.
Please...please have mercy on me!
Neld cries to Athy.
And why should I show you mercy when you showed me and mine none.
Please! For the love of Serra, please!!
Serra? Serra cannot help you here. Here you are mine. I OWN YOU HERE!
Athy roars. Neld can only whimper in response.
The Syndicate has granted me two exotic spells to using upon you Neld. The first will force you into an Identity Crisis; breaking your mind and giving me total access to your mind without the use of the Runed Circle. The second will force you to Suffer my Past. You will have to relive my childhood; being forced out of the only life I knew, having to offer up my body just for a scrap and some cover over my head for the night.
She speaks with malice, and pain as tears start to slowly make their way down her face. Her eyes white out as she weaves the first spell. Neld's screams return ten fold as she starts to rend his mind
The sound of the quill scatching across the page can be heard in the silent patches between Athy speaking, Neld whimpering and sounds of mana been manipulated. This fact was noted on the page directly after the transcription of the conversation.
Interesting erases the mind and forcing the subject to relive your life, Neld will be confronted by what he has done to Athy and forced to face himself through her eyes. A truely magnicent way of turning an enemy to your point of view.
Xiras starts to scribble the details of the first spell, noting the hand gestures and whispers.
Hmm, I shall like a copy of this, it woul be benefical when the time comes that I can manipulate both black and white . . .
The thought snapped off as Neld starts to scream, Xiras quickly scribbles notes including the pitch of the scream, no detailed left unrecorded.

Smile your day could be worse, so I did smile and it was worse.
I think I should be able to control him well enough.
The pegasus looks docile enough, it doesn't look as if it would cause any trouble.
He mounts upon the horse and urges it to fly up, grabbing tightly on to its mane as it takes off with a running start. Once in the air he turns back to wave goodbye, then sets his eyes ahead, glad to be returning back to Estark.
Kira waves her goodbye as well. Soon Faust finds himself back in the skies over Estark.
OOC: Your time here is done. Hope that you enjoyed the Quest. Please add the 61 Gold to your post in the ACT if you haven't already. And add 5 exp. to your character's total.
~~~~~~
Athy quietly sobs as she watches the spells work Neld's mind over. After the effects of the spell have come to an end and Neld's cries subside she speaks.
And now Neld. Now that you know what I have lived through. Now that you know the pain and suffering that you have put me through. Now I will show you mercy for having taught me so much.
Her voice is but a whisper on the wind. She stands and pulls out the dagger that she keeps in her sleeve. She looks at Neld lovingly, as a mother would her long lost child. She cradles his head for a moment and fixes his hair. She looks at him one more time and smiles. Her wrist is fast and in a moment a thin of blood forms on his throat. Soon the crimson comes gushing out. She cradles him the entire time.
As his blood slowly stops flowing and the last of his live drains away from his body Athy speaks again in the same quiet tone:
Leave. Sign, date and place the scroll and the quill on my desk. A thrull will be waiting for you in my office. He will lead you out.
Xiras records the final moments of Nelds life as the life ebbs out of him and onto the floor, he then leaves at Athy's instruction
As he ascends the staircase he shakes his head trying to clear the image of Neld dying from his mind.
Ive killed before but then in such cold blood, the experience is quite haunting not one I shall soon forget
He finds himself in the office, he signs dates and leaves the paper along with the quill on Athy's desk. A thrull stands by ready, Xiras nods at the thrull ready to leave.
Xiras reads the scroll, the paper crumbles in his hands and a bat appears in a shadowy burst of mana. He climbs upon its back, then sharply digs his heel into the bat side.
The bat soars upwards rapidly then circles new endgar once before heading in the direction of estark.
