Karkus silently moves closer to the edge of the forest hoping to slip into the treeline without the branches closing off the way as they did last time.
Shinta comes closer to the forest, walking near the trees trying to find a space to enter, when he is close enough he attempts to touch the lower branches
There's no path to speak of. Either no one has tried, or the forest is denying them one. There's only behind them, back to the city, or deeper into the forest.
Karkus turns to the sensei and snaps: Well what would you suggest we do then sensei? You seem to have plenty of input on what we should not do and what feels like a bad idea but I have yet to hear you make an actual suggestion toward our goal.
The sensei shakes his head. "Why would I give you advice? You consistently ignore what I say not to do. Why would I think you would listen if I give you the opposite?"
The sensei looks rather questioningly at Shinta. "I do. Which is why I put out the request for you. If I could save her by myself, I would have done so already. It's been made fairly clear by now that my opinions are not wanted. So I shall simply follow and lend my blade so we can find her."
Shinta is unsure of what to do, he stays still for a little time, it looks like he's gonna say something, but then he closes his mouth, turns around and runs into the forest.
As they move into the forest, they rapidly lose sight of the place they came in. If it were not for the fact that they aren't moving particularly fast, this would seem normal.
The forest itself is... Nondescript. There are trees, but in no particular pattern. There's no particular path for them to follow. Its almost as if the forest is conspiring to get them lost so they'd never be seen again. However, the further they walk, in any direction, the more dense the forest becomes.
After walking for a while again and apparently getting nowhere, Shinta takes one gem from his satchel and summons a hawk, and tells it to fly over the trees, to see if it can give them some indication to what direction to take
"Some building, or something that indicates the forest ends, anything that can get us out of here" he says
The hawk flies up, but there's no indication of where they are. The sky is a direct mirror of the ground, forest included, and the forest doesn't end even at the horizon.
OOC: What the hell is going on with this quest. Can you just end it so I can go on a quest thats worth my time or something?? Or at least move us along.
Karkus moves deeper through the forest. Kamigawa is much more boring than I expected it to be....
This isn't a video game. You don't get to move on just because you walk. Just because you stand there. You screwed up earlier, so you had to find another way around. You're currently in a forest that NEVER ENDS. Is there nothing you can think of to do? Nothing strikes you as odd enough to make a post about?
I'm not going to just 'move you along' because you refuse to actually do something. I did cut off half the quest from the middle to get you to this point, however. And I'll be happy to just end it so I can try again with another group that's more inclined to posting.
OOC: Do you not understand that none of your posts from the very beginning of this quest have given anywhere near enough description to be of any sort of use by any of the group. I'm sorry for being the most vocal about all of this but I'm not gonna take an idiotic quest sitting down just because a Global Moderator with an ego problem is running it like an eight year old who just got made Dungeon Master because it's his house we're all playing D&D at.
EDIT: OOC: Sorry I wasn't quite done. As the GM you are supposed to work the quest around what your players are doing not throw up walls because they misinterpret your clues. You pointed us toward the forest but we did something that wasn't in your master plan so you blocked us with respawning 8/4s that I single handedly killed THREE WAVES OF. Then you pointed us back to the pagoda but there was jack squat there except for something pointing us....toward the forest! Which turns out to be an endless labrynth with no clues as to where to go. Can you understand why we might be a wee bit discouraged/bored as hell/confused as to what the hell we're supposed to do? It's the GMs responsibility to make a quest fun and interesting for the players. It is NOT the player's responsibility to necessarily go rank and file with the GM's strict master plan for the quest (Especially when the GM isn't even giving cules as to what we're supposed to do).
I had a long ranting post here. I'm shortening it:
When you don't do anything, I don't do anything. If you simply walk forwards, you get a path so you can walk some more. When you're told you're gathering information, you don't just go hitting things. When YOU decide you need to gather clues, you have to actually look. And yes, when I decided originally that you needed to go to the forest, those clues are going to point you (gasp) back towards the forest.
As for those 8/4s... Go look at my post. I said cloud of dust. I purposefully did that so you couldn't see what happened. Now go look up Child of Thorns. Tell me I'm cheating when the one you're fighting is a Myojin.
OOG: WUBRG, please read the PM I sent you in detail. It contains information that details the best course of action. If you wish, I can make it public.

"Listen, we don't want any problems, we just need to pass through here" he says as he keeps walking ans tries to enter the forest
The forest doesn't exactly stop her. But it does look closed and foreboding.

According to this study I should be deaf by now.

Within a few minutes, they are completely lost.

Saying this, Shinta takes his sword, makes a little cut into his hand, and makes a mark with his blood in a nearby rock.
"We need to make something to know where we've been already"
Then keeps walking
OOC: how does the current part of the forest we are in looks like? is there something like a path or are we walking through the brush or something?
