The kitsune glowers at them for a moment. "Getting through the forest is going to be near impossible now, and the forest is rather large. We don't even know if she's there."
OOC: Kinda lost and nowhere to go right now in the quest. That's why I've been so inactive.
IC:
"The spirits clearly don't want us trespassing in the woods," Shalin reiterated. "The only suggestion I have is going back to town and performing a more thorough search for clues."

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
You've been standing around talking. You've also been relying on Sensei to lead you. Do -something-. Don't just stand. Do something. You'll get a response, I promise. Just don't do something stupid. Like ignore your Guide when he tells you to back off.
Sensei nods. "That's certainly a possibility. I'm somewhat at a loss, myself."
The sensei looks at Shinta curiously. "I have knowledge about this world, yes. But if I knew where she was, do you think I would hide this information from you?"
The kitsune hesitates as he hears the question. "Eight-and-a-Half-Tails' home is in the middle of one of our temples and is... A holy of holies, you understand? Going in would be difficult."
The sensei looks as if he's working to remember the exact timing before, "I do believe she was in the temple when we lost track of her. So I suppose we must..."
The sensei looks like he's going to hold out on this before nodding and bringing them to a pagoda on the outskirts of the city. Surrounded by everblooming cherry blossom trees and magnificent gardens, the pagoda itself looks almost out of place. Simply a brown and white pagoda of only a few stories, rather small. The smell of incense wafts out.
Karkus silently enters the pagoda with Shinta looking about him for anything out of place. Turning to the sensei he asks Where was Eight-and-a-half Tails when she was taken?
Truly for the first time with them, the sensi looks rather uncomfortable.
"This is going to be quite irregular, you understand. I do ask that you touch nothing while inside. Ask questions, but touch nothing."
At this point he leads them inside. It's an austere place. Very little of comfort on the ground floor. Simply a few mats, some nondescript brass statues, and many, many candles.
Upstairs is much the same. There is a large and comfortable bed. More candles. A small tea table. The walls are sliding rice paper panels, all open. Very little of comfort, and very little appears to have been disturbed.
Shinta walks looks all around the place, trying to find something that looks suspicious. Upstairs, he does the same, looking under the bed and inside the panels, trying to not touch anything, like the Sensei asked.
OOC: is there any people inside to which we could ask?
The Sensei turns to Karkus after he's brought them inside. "She was in her room, as far as we can tell. This pagoda is... Rather private. She uses it for affairs of state, but otherwise doesn't entertain visitors. It was a big step for anyone to come in when she didn't emerge for a week, and even more so for you to be admitted."
The lower room's candles are still flaming, but that's about it. It doesn't show much sign of habitation. Upstairs is much the same. The bed is slightly ruffled but, between the open floor plan and the opened panels, there's not much for a struggle to have disturbed.
OOC: Could you please throw me a bone or something?? I have been racking my brain for a week on what I'm supposed to do here and I can honsetly say I cannot think of a single thing to do from this point...please help!
IC: Karkus moves to the open panels and looks outside to look for any sort of impact marks or disturbances that may give a clue on what direction the philosopher was taken.
OOC: Ok...lets bust this out...Raikou and Darkasecas are out so I really just want to move this quest along.
IC: Karkus notices the direction to scratch marks comes from and with a heavy sigh begins to head back toward the forest. Looking at the sensei he inquires Would the forest grant us access were we to make an offering or prostrate ourselves at it's mercy?
As the dust behind them clears, something shiny starts moving quickly towards them.
But, if they don't notice that, there doesn't seem to be safe path.

if not:

"Are we done attempting to get killed?" Asks the sensei.

"Sensei! You are okay! I'm sorry, I just wanted to end this quickly..."
"So, we were trying to find a path around the forest, but it seems to extend very far"

"Fine, let's go to town, maybe ask people where or when they last saw her or something"
Saying that, Shinta starts walking, back to town.
He follows, checking the others.

"I think we should look for clues inside, while you" he says looking at Shalin "scout the surroundings, is that ok?"
OOC: is Raikou Rider still in? just checking, seeing as he hasn't posted in like two weeks, and he's been online recently

There are no such impact marks. There's a slight scratch in the woodwork in the direction of the forest.
