And he gets it a second later. There's another explosion that knocks him down, blowing a hole in the side. A hole just big enough for him to get through.
~scrambles to his feet, slightly dazed by the explosion that just tossed him around. clearing the cobwebs out,he clambers through the whole peering inside to see what is happening.
Outside there appears to be some sort of fortress. The airship, whatever it is, seems to have made contact. Either moored or simply lowered and crashed. He'd be able to slip out onto the wall of the fortress.
It isn't hard to do that. There's the sharp report of guns all over the fortress. Battle everywhere. Near the wreckage of the airship is plenty of bodies.
What he seems to be on is the top of an outer wall to some sort of fort or castle. It's partly made of stone, part of wood. And some of it is burning. There seem to be catapults on each of the four corners of the square, all four of them smashed. There's a lot of shouting from the large building inside of the walls, but it's mostly quiet where he is.
There are ladders here and there down to the courtyard. Most are burned and broken, but there is one he can climb down. There's another on the far side of the yard as well.
~Searches the corpses that don't look stripped.
~Smashes a palm to his forehead, trying to jar loose any memory of who he is, and how he got into this situation
~feels a sudden urge well up inside him, and calls out to noone in particular "Your servant needs your help! What am I to do? Please lend me your strength and guide me"
There may have been an answer from some sort of deity, as he finds a flintlock pistol on one of the corpses. Some shot and powder as well. Hard to tell if this is primitive or the highest powered gun they have.
~quickly snatches up the pistol and accessories, and quickly checks to see if it is loaded. Seeing it is not, he begins loading the gun, apparently subconciously knowing how to do it. After loading the gun, he goes off to investigate further, searching for clues as to what exactly is being raided, and who these raiders are
There seems to be a bit of powder and shot for him, but he'll need to be conservative.
There's the ladder he went off to begin with. And with this pistol in hand, he should be set. Down in the courtyard is a small complex of buildings. Too small for a town, but a bit too large for a village. Smoke's rising from a few of the buildings there.
On the ground and off the wall, it seems that much of this little village is burning, smoke rising into the air. Bodies are burning too, making a disgusting stench.
~runs toward the village, covering his face from the stentch and smoke, searching for survivors, or anyone else that may need help. Why he feels the urge to risk his life for others, he is unsure. However, he feels it's the right thing to do.
There were no survivors for a few moments... But deeper in the village, towards a rather large and block-ish stone building, was the sound of fighting.
~stands around, tapping his foot waiting for SOMETHING to give so he can get out of here.
And he gets it a second later. There's another explosion that knocks him down, blowing a hole in the side. A hole just big enough for him to get through.

OOC: I imagined him on like the wall of the fortress.
There's no real opening.
