So, I am running a campaign of D&D 3.5. I am looking for five players. In addition to signing up, each player gets to decide one factor of the game, within certain limits. Making a decision means that you have signed up, no matter what decisions others will make before or after you. Even if you want to play level 20 gestalt, you might have to deal with all your stats being 3's, that is. 1: Starting level(1-20, gestalt or non-gestalt.) 2: Stat generation (0-point-buy? 3d6 no re-rolls? 36x3d6, forming a 6x6 Stat square and picking one line? Elite array? Custom array? Normal Array? Nothing above all 18's, though, please.) 3: Starting gold/items (Up to twice level 20's gold, or then you can.. I don't know, give everyone a ship? Or something. Or an intelligent item of opposite alignment with huge ego score.) 4: Allowed Races (Only human? Anything BUT human? LA buyback or not? Only monsters with starting ECL 10+?(With monster classes if starting level is below that.))z 5: Allowed Classes (Only tier 1? Only tier 5? Only NPC classes? ALL SAMURAIS? TRUENAME PARADE? Or just a psionic campaign, or one where everyone is cleric.. For reference, Tier List.)
EDIT: SRD Classes, Level 13 Gestalt, Stats are Elite Array (15/14/13/12/10/8)Any race is allowed, but it must have at least one template, up to +2 LA is free.

This just in: Make at least two classes available. It's gestalt. No point having it gestalt if just one is available.

Do you want to choose one for everyone, or do you allow everyone to choose themselves? (If so, can they roll first, and then switch to array if it seems better to them?)
Are we talking of 13/12/11/10/9/8 nonelite array or elite array: 15/14/13/12/10/8. Or then you can just say whatever stats for them to order themselves, which would be a custom array. Like 18/18/18/3/3/3. It's all up to you.
Just asking. And yeah, there are not many more complex ones. Point Buy, different Arrays and different rolls are more or less all you can do.
Unless you want to roll in a hypercube. Which I've done.
Nvm, elite array it is.

Leadership.. Please no, unless everyone is allright with it. The issue it has is that if you get it, everyone has to get it. If everyone is allright with twenty-five-thousand people running around everywhere, it's fine, but I'd consult the other players first.

I forgot to mention that LA/Monster HD would only take up one side of the gestalt (So one could be a vampire (LA+8?) and still be a fighter 5||Wizard 13.)
Since deciding starting itemization was left up to me.. You all start with level 11 WBL, I.E: 66,000gp. Further, you all start with a certain item. A mask, which was donated to your parents while you were a child, and given to you. Purpose of the mask is not clear, and you are not aware who gave it to your parents.
The mask is clearly very powerful, and in a way reflects a part of your personality through the image of creature carved into it. The mask's face might move slightly, but it never makes any sound. It is made of some kind of dark, shiny, wood, but it does not burn and cannot really be caused any damage to in any way you know. No one else is capable of wearing the mask. Inside it, on the forehead, there is a rune which no one has ever been able to translate.
Further specifics of the item will be resolved when your character sheet is finished, apart from it. Either way, it is certainly worth leaving your face-spot open. These items are legacy weapons, for anyone familiar with the rules for them, but knowing the rules is not mandatory, since most of the things related to them will happen automatically as the campaign processes. The feats required to use them are gained automatically as you reach sufficient level.
Bringing the group together is the masks willing to unite, for one reason or another. They do not make their intentions clear, and only comminucate vaguely, through feelings. Either way, they are clearly at least mildly intelligent.

Give me five minutes to think and check this thread again, okay? The timing here was legendary. I'm trying to come up with anything to decide for you, and generally sorting out some confusing things.
EDIT: People still get the masks. Nevinnyrral decides the rest of the gold/items you get, which could be anything from a steamship and 100,000,000,000 gold coins to a bottle of good wine and sunglasses. You're in, Nev.
iRebel is on a reserved spot, or can join at the start if he can finish a character/is interested. He might join a bit late, too, as I believe I can add him in for a while, before the plot gets to critical times. (He wasn't sure if he was interested, but contacted earlier than Nev, so I think this's fair.)

You get 55,000 gold and I introduce the airship a bit later. You don't know each other prior to the start, so I'll just give it to your team once you do.
You are being brought together by the masskkkksssssss...

The thing is, we don't have many options. Since we have to use what's in the SRD....well, we should all be casters, really, or at least half casters.
I might need a touch of help with my character too. I can't think of much to do with him besides 'make generic dude' and that's a bit boring to me.
Plus I'm still not quite sure how the level progression works. You say we have to be templated--are the first two levels of adjustment free, so that what would normally be an LA +3 is now LA +1--or are ones that cost more than 2 just really, really expensive? Also, while level adjustment is confined to one side of the gestalt, what about HD of a class, such as when making a dragonkin?
Pardon my noobery; I haven't made a level 13 guy before.
I personally only went with a level adjustment of 2 for conveniences sake... Also we don't ALL have to be casters. It's just that the casters in the SRD tend to be more powerful than the melee's. But keep in mind there are a couple of nice Prestige Classes in the SRD that focus on Melee. Also keep in mind that the SRD also includes Psionics, which to my knowledge so far none of us are using that yet.

"As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapable of solving approaches zero." -- Varsuvius, Order of the Stick
All righty then. I think I might make Jaya Ballard I mean a pyrokineticist. It seems like a cool class.
Still waiting on the answer to Talore's question earlier though--if I play an unoptimized character, will I die? My discussion with Amadi in the other thread shows how little I know about character optimization...

I think we have a slight problem with character optimization issues... while it is entirely possible to optimize everything regarding class, feats, skills, and other ability related things... it is not as easily possible to optimize equipment due to your own restriction on gold. As such, I think that you should try your best to optimize your abilities but don't worry too terribly much if your unoptimized when it comes to gear.
Don't let Halinn's character scare you, he and Amadi tend to normally uber optimize. And I will be speaking with Amadi directly about not planning the campaign in such a way as to over-indulge those who know how to optimize while murdering those who do not. There needs to be a broader scope on this because we have at least 2 if not 3 people who are not too familiar with this kind of campaign.

Talore: Sure, but it must be templated, as per your own orders.
I'm trying to accommodate for a fairly broad range here. Just don't do anything bat☺☺☺☺ crazy, mmkay?

No Flying Fortress for this character.... I haven't chosen my daily spells as of yet as I don't know which of my spells you all will prefer.
I'll get to work =/
What should I do...?
Hey Amadi, what is the general optimization level? Will I be dying if my character is sub-optimal?
Talore, you should probably do a melee/caster character... I am helping Cabal_Chan with his character, we are building him a Paladin // Cleric
Okay, I'll try to work something out. How to work melee with casting and doing both at once...
I might need a touch of help with my character too. I can't think of much to do with him besides 'make generic dude' and that's a bit boring to me.
