"Here." Silas releases the quicken spells he's channeling on Telcrova and Garrett, and steps back, pulling out his sling. "I'll get to you in a moment," he says, turning to Eldridge. He attempts to peel back a bit, fumbling with his pouch as he does so.
**Eldridge stands back from the turn, blade held somewhat quaveringly before him, awaiting what comes next.**

Telcrova's blade moves smoothly into a guard position as she channels a quickening spell through herself. She steps sideways, giving herself some room from the rest of the group.
Around the corner comes a good four Garr. They were prepared for movement, not attacking. Kind of odd. But as soon as they see the four, that changes, and they simply charge, letting their momentum help them trample the group.
**Eldridge took aim at one of them, propelling himself forward and hoping the threat of a blade arching toward its chest would encourage the garr to halt its momentum.**

Garrett launched himself forward as well, lunging at the arm of one of the garr. His aim was to get behind him while simultaneously using their opposing momentums to swing the garr into one of its allies.
Telcrova takes a few steps to the side, hoping to draw one of the garr to her. She knows the only way for her to take one down is to aim for the eyes, so it'd be a problem to reveal her intentions too early.
Silas skids back, hoping to avoid getting caught in the middle. Concentrating on keeping his spells maintained on the soldier and the cloaked woman, he makes a quick gesture towards the pale man as well as he lunges forward with his blade. He then reaches for his ammo pounch.
(Maintain Quicken on Telcrova and Garrett, cast Empower on Eldridge.)
**Eldridge took aim at one of them, propelling himself forward and hoping the threat of a blade arching toward its chest would encourage the garr to halt its momentum.**
His garr does stop... Momentarily. But there's another three behind it in a small corridor that push it forwards. The blade'll sink into its chest a little, but such a wound isn't enough to take it down permanently.
The force WILL be enough to topple it onto Eldridge if he's not careful.

Not quite enough room for the maneuver. Getting behind the garr is possible, putting the garr between him and the other three. However, swinging it? No room for that.

The garr thunder a foot or so past before one turns to send a haymaker at her. Angrily.
Now the garr lie between two sets of adventurers. Telcrova and Garrett. Eldridge and Silas.

Not getting pinned is easy. Not getting rushed is hard. He'll have to deal with the latter immediately.
**Sensing the danger not quite in time, Eldridge stumbles backward, wrenching his blade out of the garr but finding himself not quite sure of foot, hoping that the staggered garr would find himself similarly disposed.**

With her speed doubled, it's child's play for Telcrova to step back, just out of the range of the haymaker. As she steps forward again, a patch of darkness blooms around Telcrova and her target. The blade's tip is sent at the garr's eye, aiming for a quick kill while it's blinded.

The Garr is off balance, and still moving forwards. Arms windmilling to try to get its balance back even as it trips and falls, right at Eldridge.

It's not quite that easy. The garr, suddenly in darkness, starts to rub at its eyes to see if it suddenly went blind. The tip hits its hand. It roars, then makes to grab her hand and yank her off her feet.
**Interested more in not dying than the garr doing the same, Eldridge sped back as fast as he could.**

The hand closes on nothing. The garr's practically blind, and her speed's easily twice that of the garr.
Telcrova moves enough to keep her hand out of the way, and then sends another attack at the garr's eye.

The Garr's not that stupid. If it can't grab the dagger, it's not going to keep its hand away. It realized quickly what happened, so it keeps its eye safe. And simply backs up and away.
Having managed to get behind the advancing garr, Garrett did his best to sweep one of their legs and trip them.
Not quite that simple. The garr were trying not to trip over their fallen comrade, so they were already watching their feet. Garrett's leg just alerts them more to his position, and his particular opponent kicks back.
**As it began to get up, Eldridge got an idea, but found himself too distracted by its danger to notice the red aura suddenly forming around him. He darted forward as fast as he could, aiming what strength he had with his blade at the garr's face.**

The garr gets a slice across its nose. It howls out as blood drips, then reaches out to grab at Eldridge.
Slightly overextended, Telcrova drops her rapier, letting herself fall to the side to avoid the kick. As she gets up, she calls her rapier back to her hand.
Damn it. There goes my best chance for that one.
The shroud of darkness vanishes as the drow begins to circle her opponent, waiting for an opening.
**Eldridge ducked back again, stumbling into the wall for not looking at where he was going, slicing wildly in the garr's hand's general direction.**

The shot simply hits its hand. As she connects, it kicks at her to get her before she can escape.
And then gets out of the darkness.
The garr stops, and then laughs at the baton. Then, spreading its arms out to block methods of escape, starts stalking to close the distance.
