Opening sketch stars one of Philly's finest actors, Tony Lawton. Also my old roommates Scott and Beth as the savages. I knew that Beth had all these gross furs in her basement and that they would be psyched to play Temur savages. A match made in heaven. We're actually fairly new to green screen shooting and had to deal with a million problems at the shoot, so the final version is a mangled version of the original script, but I think we got there. Fun times.
As for the Pro Tour, so many great moments. Lee Shi Tian's story is insane. He basically didn't play test at all because he was protesting every day in Hong Kong. Really intense sensitivity with coverage because A. it's not really our place to express political opinions in coverage, and B. Hasbro has a relationship with China that would make championing anti-China causes very bad for WotC. If you remember at the first World Magic Cup, the Taiwanese team that won the event had to go as Chinese Taipei even though they were wearing stickers of the Taiwanese flag on their faces. Pretty crazy stuff.
Also, how about Dave Williams' mind-reading of the Morphs? I wish we could've included more footage from that match. It was insane. It really opened my eyes to how insanely cool Morph cards are.
As always, leave comments/feedback for us to consider for future episodes.
