I was just wondering if there is any room for articles that focus on making popular T1 decks into a 'Poor Man's' version. I play a lot of T1, and have made decently successful decks with few or no expensive cards. I also like to show the uses of cards that are not used, but are good cards anyway. Please let me know if this would work. My e-mail is listed in my profile.

As long as it's sound theory+testing I dont see why not, You might have to beat Binary off with a stick thou.
Qwerty
:bmage:
Qwerty says this because I'm a member (albeit one of the slightly less-active and lesser-known) of a fairly well-known Vintage team.
I have no problem with articles regarding "budget" Vintage decks as long as they follow fairly sound theory, show that the deck has been tested against a good representation of the major archetypes, and are honest about the weaknesses of the budget version as compared to the "powered" version.
An article that says "This isn't as great as the powered version because of X, but can still steal a match or two against Tier 1 decks because of Y" is great, but "My deck is better than the powered version" without anything to back it up is not going to sit well with me.

New Rules come out for 1999 6th Edition... "THEY'RE TURNING MAGIC INTO PORTAL! THE GAME IS RUINED! EVERYONE PETITION AND GET THEM TO CHANGE IT BACK!"
New Rules come out for 2010 Edition... "THEY'RE TURNING MAGIC INTO YU-GI-OH! THE GAME IS RUINED! EVERYONE PETITION AND GET THEM TO CHANGE IT BACK!"
New Rules come out for *Reserved for something in 2020* "THEY'RE TURNING MAGIC INTO *currently "simple" game by the more "skilled" players*! THE GAME IS..." etc.
Do you accept Tournament Reports? I have one written.
Well, it's not really a tournament report, I organized a multi-player tournament and took note of it. Kind of a 'This is what happens when you set your mind to it' article.

Does the sample piece have to be currently applicaple to publish? I have an old article on Rector from 2 Extended seasons ago that I could send in as a sample and would be planning on writing a Type 2 gauntlet article for pre-Regionals.

Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone
To the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.
You should PM your article to Qwerty for review, not Wolfwood.
I suspected as much. See, aside from this thread, there's no real instructions on how to do that. And even the beginning of this thread is misleading. All the more reason to stick instructions somewhere.

If anyone is still reading this... This is quite true. Potential new writers don't know who to contact or what needs to be done... come to think of it, Salvation should really have a 'contacts' page, so people know who to and how to contact people in charge of various aspects of the site.
Anyway, about articles... I could be interested in writing two or three articles, but have no interest/material for anything weekly. Would that be possible?
Also, I've got a friend who used to write a pretty accurate version of the Mirage/Visions storyline back on News before getting busy. Would chapters of this be acceptable for weekly 'publication'?

But like Qwerty just said, PM your article to him, as he has taken Wolfwoods position in choosing who gets in.

Also, it took me a long time to find this thread. I'd suggest putting a link to it or something in the place where the articles are listed.
