I am so pleased some one else out there underblust is worth playing thinks thunderblust deserves some attention. I was play testing thunderblust and i really loved it. Only problem with is how fragile it is. What i found was between lightning bolt and path about 85% of the decks have 1 of those MD. Obviously chalice for 1 take out either of those but it just seamed to fragile. I still am on the fence about them and havent totaly ruled them out but i think after all the play testing ive done with it the chances are slim that ill run it. Besides, u have 4 deus, demigod, and EtW. That makes 12 big drops on turn 1 or 2. I have contemplated doing something with maybe 3 thunderblusts and 3 deus but again we'll see.
Let me know what you me know what you think about the blusts but i bet you'll come up with the same conclusion as me.
Blust dies to bolt. End of argument. You can't depend on Chalice @ 1 to keep your guy alive, which is why we run 6-8 moon effects.
I would add Boom/Bust to your board if your having trouble with DD, or molten rain. In my testing, having to play around Molten Rain post board can simply destroy that matchup, not to mention its good in other places as well, such as HyperGen, Zoo and even Tezz/sword/Thopter.
Anyone want to share the best strategy against Zoo variants? Thanks!
I've done a few games against scapeshift and I like the chances. Just like in against other decks, an early Moon could slow them down. I didn't force much of Chalice since it would only null a ponder and spending spells to bring the counters to 2-4 was the least of the options. A first turn Deus puts them on clock. I also find myself playing a copy or two of Empty the Warrens since I'm also on clock.

I'm not sure there's much of a strategy to playing against Zoo other than:
1. Get a Blood Moon out as soon as possible (ideally turn 1).
2. If that's not possible, then a Chalice for 1 helps out quite a bit, but not against Tarmogoyf or the more meaty versions of Zoo.
Scapeshift is an exciting match. An early Moon isn't game-ending, but it slows them down. They usually play enough basic Forests to be able to search out the basic Islands to eventually bounce the Moon, but we have more time to go off. One Island is enough to Remand, though, so a Chalice set to 2 is very nice against them -- it also shuts off Sakura-Tribe Elder, Peer Through Depths, Echoing Truth, Coiling Oracle, etc. Empty the Warrens is usually the finisher of choice, unless of course you can get a Deus down turn 1.

Plus Thunderblust dies to most 1 or two drops in the format. Against Dark Depths I would recommend Dead//Gone, since it can also be useful against Burn (Dead will kill Spark/Hellspark Elementals in Burn, Gone will bounce Marit Lage in DD).

Lich's mirror is some hot tech. ive been looking into it as a decent sideboard option for a while, but ive never really made it as good as i need it to be. it is a 1-3 of and im not sure where in that range it should be. It is a basic reset button against anything. it lets you recycle your hand for absolutely no reason. i think it is a great way to add more options on your mulligans. it makes a 7 card hand keepable with a mirror drop on turn 1-2. I personally have started running a list with chalices boarded. my maindeck choice is to rock 4 chandra ablaze. it is so great on turn 1-2 as it takes the hand your opponet mulliganed to and ships it right on back
hope this helps
My tech against zoo is... volcanic fallout/firespout. ive found a way to make it work but its kinda hard.

That must work great with the Lich's Mirror. You just get to huck whatever you want at them without much fear - you will probably reset later.

That is true. however it is sometimes awkward as far as mana goes as you are gunning for the mirror (5) and another threat. what i have found to work well with mirror is an empty at a few points or dropping a threat then the mirror whenever you have the mana for it later.
in my testing, 3 has been working best as far as board goes. i side out a deus, and demi, and an empty in order to get them in.

Lets see, off the top of my head, MD needle helps 2 matchups the most, DD and Tezz/Foundry, not to mention possibly aiding in manascrewing a zoo base by needling a key fetch, but that seems bad. Also turns of Marty of Sands. That all i can think of for key activated abilities.
The second is very interesting. MD Pithing Needle? SB Lich's Mirror?
Since the second list is mine, I can share some of the thoughts behind these. I wanted to try the pithing needle as a way to stop things that Chalice couldn't counter (Unearth, Tezzeret searching for Foundry, resolved Jitte/Foundry, etc). It can also come down earlier than Chalice (4 mana to stop Foundry vs 1). I was always happy when I drew it, but wouldn't really want more than the one.
The Lich's Mirror is for RDW and the mirror match. With neither side committing anything in the way of board presence, it's basically "Draw 7 cards, gain 20 life". Not appropriate for maindecking, obviously. The rest of my sideboard is pretty hodgepodge. If I had thought about it, I would have used Sun Droplets instead of Dragon's Claw. Echoing Ruin should also have been a third Shattering Spree.
On another note, I want to try to find a way to fit a fourth Empty the Warrens in the sideboard, for matchups with lots of spot removal.

Nice job, and good ideas! One question, I like having Figure of Destiny in the SB as another threat to bring in especially when I'm playing against the Mirror or RDW (with 7 pretty dead Moon effects). Were there any other weak links in the SB (I know space is very tight) that you felt could be reduced or removed?

I wasn't really wild about FoD (it takes 11(?) mana to level it all the way up), and didn't really want to pay for something I didn't want to use. I played against RDW once, bringing in the Dragon's Claws, Lich's Mirror, and Dead//Gone. Those were really all I felt I needed (highlight: casting a Seething song during my opponent's turn with Dragon's Claw in play to gain the one life I needed to not die to a shrapnel blast).
In my experience, the deck has a really hard time with UW Tezzerator, and Bant can be a problem if you can't get down a moon effect turn one. Apparently, Affinity is also a bad matchup, although I never actually played against it (conceded to it in the GP Trial finals, since my opponent is actually going to the GP). More Shattering Sprees might be nice, but I don't know what to take out, since everything in my sideboard came in at one point or another.

t1 chalice at 1 or pithing needle on martyr should slow them down long enough to lock them out..eventually. otherwise, I suspect it's a bad matchup no matter how you look at it.
What can we do agains the martyr of sands deck thats beginning to pop up a lot online?
Some people suggested the use of Everlasting Torment for MRB, but I think it might be better suited here. We can cast it turn one and swing the game wildy in our favor.

Of course, Everlasting Torment has the unfortunate extra ability to make all damage into wither, so the Deus will probably start shrinking. It might still be ok, but should precious SB space be used for such a narrow card? The combination of Chalice (even though Chalice won't stop Martyr from being returned to play rather than cast) and Needle could suffice, while still being useful against other decks. But if your meta has a lot of Martyr, ET might work out.

gotta be something better than firespout out there
we need something like

not really gonna do anything but make the inevitable smash to smithereens cost 1 more.
And really mess with our chances of casting anything else before turn 5.
