Basically, you heap stuff on top of small, usually evasive creatures and swing. For example, I've had 23/16 Loxodon Punishers with trample, lifelink, protection from red, blue, white, and black, and much more. I've found it's biggest problem is mana acceleration, which it has none of, although Auriok Steelshaper helps a lot.

Your deck looks stuck in mirrodin block... like a pumped up version of the white precon from mirrodin.
That's probably because most of the good equipment cards are from Mirrodin block. Also, the interactions between non-equipment cards and equipment cards are all in Mirrodin as well.
Also, about the Jitte, it's still a good card even in a non-competitive deck. I might get a few.

id use more warhammers, and replace the specter's shrouds with whispersilk cloak. shroud and unblockability in one neat package is pretty b.a. when it gets right down to it. i'd also put in more creatures that get bonuses for being equipped, like skyhunter cub. those would work well for you
I'm working on a (kinda) similar deck for extended as well. Mono-white aggro. I got the idea watching Alex Swart play in Minneapolis and taking 7th overall out of 200-some people. His deck crushes goblins and zoo, as well as ichorid. Honestly, I see this as being a very competitive deck with a little work.
I'd strongly consider playing silver knight or soltari priest. Red is looking awfully strong in extended... Also, Exalted Angel, Chrome Mox, and even the golem with Affinity for Plains. Cut the artifact lands, replace them with basic plains. Serra Avenger is also great, as it not only flies, but has vigilence as well.
Actually, look into Grafted Wargear over cranial plating. It might not seem all that good, but consider this:
It helps you eat Bridge
It's a (nearly) permanent +3/+2 for 3
On a flyer, it scares the crap out of people.
I would strongly recommend looking up Alex's deck on star city games, if you get the chance. Besides the Chrome Mox and Exalted Angel, the deck is actually quite budgeted (Hell, if you're patient, you should be able to find the Angels for less than $10 a piece on ebay), and far more potent than it looks. Unless something really huge comes out, I'll be playing a varient on Swart's build at the next big extended tourney I attend.
I have been looking at a equipment deck also. I was thinking of taking it a slightly different angle. I was going to not use creatures with evasion, but instead use creatures that keep recurring. The great thing about equipment is that even a 1/1 becomes awesome.
That way I could get my equipment in play, and even if my critters die, they will keep coming back, and I'll keep equipping. Also, these creatures are all relativly cheap to play, so I could get a pretty good equipped creature out early.
There has to be a way to make that card work. And it would have some decent synergy for the deck. Only concern is that it is 4 to cast. That 4 mana could play and equip a Jitte.
I have a casual deck that's similar. Auriok Bladewarden works really well because you can double the effectiveness of any equipment you have so long as you have the available mana, and Skyhunter Skirmisher is also a beating.
Note: Jitte pwns
Each of those give you 3 creatures to attach equipment to. And are effectively a card that offers a 3 for 1 because all 3 1/1s will be alot better with equipment.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.

Have any questions or concerns? Come take a dip in my pool.
Creatures I was thinking of:
Myr Servitor
Safehold Elite
Leonin Squire (Using this in conjunction with Myr Servitor and maybe Heap Doll or Ornithopter)
