Who thinks this extended season might actually be a pretty cool format?
Jace, Stoneforge, Ponder/Preordain, Misstep being banned forces players to come up with some new deck ideas.
The rotation of lorwyn/shadowmoor gets rid of the cryptic command/fae dominance.
What remaining decks do we have? Jund, Naya, Bant, Tempered Steel, Pyromancer Ascension (maybe, although its a lot weaker now), Cawblade variants, open the vaults, red deck wins, polymorph, any probably some others.
It's a lot cheaper than modern since we don't have shocklands, goyf, confidant, and a few other expensive cards.
Who thinks extended might actually be popular for once?

I still have a feeling that standard the last couple of years with a few bans isn't going to be a fun format. Caw-blade vs jund all day long.

im hopeing vampires makes a come back quite a bit to chose from. might be the right format for them.

Standard: pft, i love to see my cards depreciate in value once they rotate :S
Mordern: Melira, UR Storm, RDW, Infect, W life/control, UW Tron
Legacy: RDW, Pox
Vintage: Dark Depths, R Grey Orge
It's just going to be the same decks that were popular in Shards/Zendikar standard since the power level of those blocks is so much higher than Scars. Jund, Consciption, Open the Vaults, U/W Control, Naya Shaman, etc are all going to see lots of play... again.

Currently playing:
Type 2: UW U/W Stone-Blade (24-4-1 R.I.P.) UW UW Caw-Blade UW UB U/B Control UB GR Valakut Ramp GR
I feel like if you want something fresh from a small card pool you just play standard. And if you want something that lets you play with cool older cards to do interesting things then you just want to play modern or legacy. Is there anyone actually playing in extended tournaments?
I suppose that what im saying is that i dont expect a sudden rise in playability of anything.
i dont mind playing every format, if you just keep playing the same one it gets boring.

decks I'd like to see:
- exalted
- mythic/vengevine
- junk/Kotr decks
- big jund
- unearth RDW
- open the vaults
- Grixis
Decks I'd hate to see:
- anything with titans in
- anything with swords in
- jund
- cawblade variants
So... yeah, it won't be a fun format for me
Considering I'm planning on building Jund Titan-Blade to jump into extended, I feel a little offended by what you don't want to see in extended.

lol. The deck would be the most d-baggy deck in the history of magic. lol:)
I honestly can't see any reason to play in extended anymore. Its just like standard except its last years standard with a few cards to make the most powerful strategies even more powerful.

This.
Seriously there will be practically nothing interesting happening in this format. there will be two dominant aggro decks and decks that will beat one while losing to the other. I'd stay away from this format if you have played standard in the last two years.

Even more serious there is no one playing the format, so it puts off people who has any intentions of forming extended.
If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.

Am I missing something or are Jund, RDW and Valakut clearly going to be the best deck now?
Well, clearly my home-brew U/b Robot deck is far more potent than everything else in the format, but yes, you are essentially correct.
RDW is ridiculously powerful, Jund has always been pretty powerful, and CawBlade (or really, UW Tempo) has a lot of good support. Honestly, I'm a little surprised at all the hate for Jund. In all fairness, Jund was just a really good aggro Mid-range deck backed by the throat-punch of BBE into Blightning. I'm not sure it's even up to going toe to toe with the newer CawBlade lists and RDW.
I believe they should use extended as a ptq format and leave modern for the pros, since it's hard for newer players like myself to be competitive in a format where a staple is a hundred bucks each.

Extended
The entire format is banned.
We decided that we had done enough pummeling to Extended, so we created Modern and put Extended out of its misery--once and for all.
I LOL when I read this, I don't hate extended but really they should remove this format which is redundant, useless and confuses noobs.
Cant even hate it since it was never around to speak of.
