I don't know if I'll be around from tomorrow afternoon until Monday morning, so please approve this trade so I can set my roster. If you're not going to approve it, then please let me know what needs fixed to get it approved.
Me:
Send Greg Jennings, GB WR from Bench to SG-1
Send Thomas Jones, KC RB from Bench to SG-1
Send Todd Heap, Bal TE from Bench to SG-1
Him:
Send Reggie Bush*, NO RB from SG-1 to Bench
Send Robert Meachem, NO WR from SG-1 to Bench
Send LaDainian Tomlinson, NYJ RB from SG-1 to Bench
*edit* My bad, didn't preview before I posted.
I get what you're saying now. I saw players I wanted and figured I'd need to overspend for them. I guess I just didn't realize just how much I was overspending.
Naw...no hard feelings. I typically overspend in most trades I do, and I do understand why you felt the need to veto the original trade. Thank you for the work you put into maintaining these leagues, and I am sorry that I am the one that broke your no-veto record.
I don't know why I got rid of Reggie Bush. For some reason I thought he'd be gone longer before I realized that he broke his fibula instead of his tibia. Oh well. Goes to show how I'm pretty much clueless at playing Fantasy in my very first year of doing it.
Ya thanks for Bush I snatched him up for my Bench :D. Anyway my first year too so I understand
Also @Wrath do the Trade it helps both us I'm super thin at Running Back especially if Matthews is out and its an upgrade wideout for you

Heh I just did that as well. I know he'll be back and I need another good RB since Jacobs does not seem to be cutting it. I just hope that it is closer to 4 weeks and not 6.
No real need is there? This thread is for anything NFL related an both will be discussed here
When proposing a trade it not only has to be fair for the 2 parties involved, but also fair for the competitive nature of the other members involved in the league. In the 6 or so years I've been running my own leagues this was the first time Ive ever had to veto a trade. Tomlinson for Jones is fair value all around. Tolbert may very well be the starting RB since Mathews went down. Jennings is a #1 WR on on of the most dangerous offenses in the league. You cant offload 2 IR guys for that. Your new proposal is better but you're still essentially trading an injured Bush for Jennings ( the other 4 players are basically a wash). Im going to allow this one to slide but in the future please keep that in mind. I hope there arent any hard feelings.
No hard feelings, and I want to apologize. I woke up this afternoon on only a few hours of sleep (3rd shift be damned) and I reacted poorly. I've never had a trade vetoed before, and I honestly thought it was a pretty even deal considering the circumstances. I was excited to have a sure-start WR to go with Moss, and upset that it got vetoed away. My sincerest apologies.
Man! Ryan Grant and Kevin Kolb get knocked out before doing anything game one, I lose. I move Clinton Portis as my OP to my second back and am fortunate enough to pick up Vick immediately for my OP slot. I need another Quarterback though, and Sanchez looked as though he wouldn't even get an opportunity to throw. So drop him and pick up Jason Cambell since I figure he's going to have throw a lot to keep a bad Raiders team in it.
Sanches goes nuts and throws 3 touchdowns, Cambell gets benched, I lose, and Sanchez is scooped up immediatley. CAN A MAN GET A BREAK? Also, who needs 5 or 6 running backs on their squad? Seems like hoarding :/.

Any chance we can make 2 different NFL threads, one covering fantasy stuff and one for pure NFL discussion? I really don't want to read anything fantasy related.
If that's all You want to do is read up on NFL news, ESPN would be a much better choice than here. Your more than welcome to discuss anything with us though.
Quickly, I'm gonna pass on the trade this week Zeus. I'm going to ride out one more week before I trade in the mtgs1 league. No offense or anything.
Sorry for such a long delay. My only internet source is now coming from my Droid. :/ and it sucks trying to do stuff online @ DSL speeds, when I'm use to 20meg cable internet.

As far as 'hoarding' backs, you can start 3 you need bye week fill ins and RBs are notorious for getting hurt so having a 'bench' (Ryan grant?? Who thinks Portis is going to start 16 games??) for them is much more important then say an extra K, or DEF or even WR.
I'm not really hoarding much of anything; I planned my draft with the bye weeks in mind (it's my first year too, but it seemed kind of obvious)
I dropped reggie bush as well when I saw he broke his leg (he wasn't getting me any points anyway, so it's not that bad for me) as well as dropping vince young. I did pick up mark sanchez and BenJavaresGreenEllis (he's officially a one-name player now :p) off waivers so I will take that.
Also dropped the bills' defense and josh cribbs for the colts' D and bo scaife.
But can anyone tell me how after going 0-2 I'm 9th on the waiver list? did everyone suck last week or something?

Not sure about waivers, I thought I was 9th on Mon but then 12th on Tues. If anyone is interested in one of the 3 RBs on my bench (Brown, Harrison, C. Williams) I'd be willing to trade one of them and WR to get WR1/WR2.
I might be the worst fantasy football player in the world.
I highly doubt it. Given that you have a 40-point lead over me with 4 playuers to play, the only question is do you win by 25 or 40? The only possible way I can come close is if the packers' defense scores 20-some points AND the jets get completely shut down.
What am I doing wrong?

Once again, Tom Brady is singlehandedly keeping me afloat, and I still have 6 more guys to play including three of them for the MNF game. I'm still wondering how the Ravens' D somehow gave up 17 points to the Browns at home with a backup QB...
Austin Collie, you are my new best friend. I thought I was screwed when andre johnson dinged up his ankle again and was ineffective the rest of the game.
Of course, that's before I knew that Collie would get THIRTY POINTS today. means I'm no longer the worst fantasy player in the world!

Heh, I have to remember that one. Anyway, I have to thank my entire team sans Ochocinco and Jacobs for having solid games and winning me my match
up. And against a 2-0 team to boot. That just put be in 2nd in my division from what I can see.
Im in Fantasy Football purgatory. Even when things go right its wrong. At this rate I'll be out of contention by week 6....in ALL 6 of my leagues.
On the bright side my Bills are right where they need to be in the Ryan Mallett sweepstakes. At least they were watchable in a losing effort today.
Im really enjoying the Sunday night game. Much more exciting than I initially anticipated.
Some random thoughts about today's games:
TEN v NYG: Eli continues to live up to my opinion of him. As I said when he signed his contract: 1 million for every INT he'll throw while he plays out said contract. Jacobs continues to be a waste of a roster spot.
CIN v CAR: a lackluster performance from the Bengals given the strength of their opponent. I keep waiting to see the pre-injury Carson at least once but it doesnt look like its going to happen. Has anyone else noticed Chad isnt catching a lot of balls he should be?
PIT v TB: Totally one sided. Played out exactly how I figured it would.
BUF v NE: yeah.....moving on
CLE v BAL: AS I type this right now Peyton Hillis is still trucking Raven defenders. They gave Baltimore quite a scare despite Flacco playing well. Harbaugh HAS to get Rice more involved in that offense though. Throw a damn screen once in a while
SF v KC: Chiefs were one of my sleeper teams this year but not to the extent of which theyre playing. If only the passing game could keep up with their RB's and defense. SF is most disappointing. I think it's safe to say the Alex Smith experiment has seen its last season
DAL v HOU: Not a real surprise. I dont think most people expected DAL to end up in an 0-3 hole. Texans were due for a let down game. Better against a team like Dallas than a team like Jacksonville.
DET v MIN: Minnesota's offensive line and WR's continue to make mistake after mistake. Not trading for Vincent Jackson was a HUGE mistake
ATL v NO: Garrett Hartley isnt making any friends with the start he's had. That said, great game featuring 2 good teams. Enjoyed it thoroughly. And Im glad ATL finally remembered that Tony Gonzalez plays for them
WSH v STL: The Rams have been quietly impressive given starting a rookie QB and the strides theyve made from last season. However, this wasnt a game the Skins should have dropped.
PHI v JAX: poor Kevin Kolb.....enjoy the pine junior. The only thing that shocked me in this one was the lack of rush yds for Vick
IND v DEN: I cant stand Denver but my hats off to the way they played today. What they did through the air was very impressive against the Colts pass D
AZ v OAK: Nnamdi is ridiculous. Dmac & Bey are coming on strong. Gradkowski is the guy who should be under center. You just dont expect Janikowski to have 3/6 days. Tough loss in a game they should have dominated
SEA v SD: Like BAL with Rice, SEA needs to feed Forsett the damn ball. SD was missing 4 LB's and they didnt take advantage like they should have and as a result it kept the Chargers in the game. As far as SD is concerned....well.....they're just lucky they play in the AFC West. Outside of Gates and Rivers they've got squat
NYJ v MIA: Two weeks in a row.....SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET DUSTIN KELLER THE BALL?!?! Apparently they've been waiting for an invitation or something because they should have been doing this LAST year. BTW, has anyone seen Shonn Greene? Might be time to throw his face on a couple of milk cartons. Say what you want about the guys character/attitude but Brandon Marshall has ridiculous hands. I hate having to root against the guy

Yeah, my team actually played today. My investment in the Panthers backs looks awful though and my QBs are obviously loltacular.
I have about 26 points to cover for three players on the MNF game... Hester, Jennings, and Gould. I feel confident about Jennings and Gould getting the points I need, but Hester is going to be a hit or miss. Why can't this guy rip punt and kickoff returns for touchdowns like he did in his first two years?
The luck I've had the last two years in the MTGS leagues has obviously run out, since I'm sitting at low point for MTGS2 and I'm about to slip down to 1-2.

So I have the Bears D against Greg Jennings tomorrow night and I'm down 9. Looks like I'll be pulling for a Bears shutout, unlikely as it is. I'm likely off to an 0-3 start in MTGS2
Flipside is, thanks to Henne having a strong game, I'm in position for a win in WTFFL to go to 3-0, barring Aromashodu and Gould combining for 33+ points.

You wouldnt get points for that anyway. Return TD's fall under the defense/special teams category. The only pts you'll get from Hester come from passing/rushing/recieving
