iCarly is arguably the hottest show on Nickelodeon right now. With 70 episodes and growing every month, I see lots of potential for this show. Carly is an okay character... but I sometimes question her acting skills. Same for Sam. Freddy and Spencer are my favorite characters because they are the funniest! My favorite scene is when Freddy's friend, Shane, fell down an elevator and Spencer looked really confused. I like Freddy's reactions too. Like when Sam bullies him, he looks very sad.
Best show on TV. The metaphore for the war on terror is transcendent. The tension between the characters is palpable. The overall atmosphere of dread and suspense is nerve-wrackingly intense. I love the cliffhanger endings. The sparse moments of humor are perfectly timed to relive the intense moments.
I don't know about you, but I think Gibby is the future of salvation for humanity.
It's amusing watching a show like that when you are so much beyond its target demographic. Then I remember that the stuff I used to watch as a kid wasn't much better

Top notch TV programming.
Okay , I get it, you don't like iCarly. There's no need to be sarcastic about it though.
iCarly is very funny. Glad I made it through season 1, because Miranda indeed wasn't a great actress at that time. But she keeps getting better and better.
I don't watch regularly (it's on on the TVs of many of the kids in the hospital I see every week so I catch snippets) but I get that it's a good show.
I used to watch Melissa Joan Hart in Clarissa tells it all, and she had a real "presence", though the rest of the actors were ****, especially the parents. Miranda Cosgrove or whatever her name is has even better presence in icarly and the show seems to be well written and more intelligent than most. She really has charisma and she was fantastic in School of Rock.
I enjoy the show because it reminds me a lot of the great Nickelodeon shows of the 90's that I watched as a kid. It has that great mix of slapstick humor that's funny for children and adult humor that means the parents can watch, too. Plus, they call people "nub" (which tickles the part of me that played far too much Counter-Strike).

I've caught it a few times when I'm drunk and the TV lands on Disney Channel or whatever channel it's on. It's not even that good when you're intoxicated. If you want a crap show that is more quality the more substances you abuse, try Boo-bah(i think thats the name). It's essentially teletubbies on crack, they randomly have seizures and make random gestures toward their genitals.
Okay , I get it, you don't like iCarly. There's no need to be sarcastic about it though.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
I have a seven-year-old son who watches it all the time. I probably have watched as much of it as you. It's alright, for a kids show.
I agree with RabidVacin, Jerry Trainor is the most talented person on the show and Nickelodeon "rewarded" him with a top voice on a really crappy cartoon. I want to see him in a horror film.
Like the posts before me, I've seen a lot this show thanks to having a son who watches a lot of Nickelodeon. At first I found it annoying, but it grows on you after a while, and it definitely has had some genuinely funny moments. Of course, that doesn't make me twitch any less when I realize that my kid's gone to bed, and I'm still watching.

Also, who is your favorite character on iCarly? Mine is Sam. She is like an anti-hero. She is with the main character (Carly), but she does criminal stuff, like stealing. Very interesting charater. Freddy is sort of a nerd, Spencer is weird, Gibby is nasty, and Carly is... meh.
I never could get in this show. My bro tryed to get me to watch it(He's 9). I could not take 5 minutes before turning the channel. Nick I know can do much much better than this. Sad when Disney shows are 10 times better than what Nick can pop out besides some their cartoons in this time of age.
It's better than Hannah Montana, if I'm watching tv with the kids I've found this to be "watchable." The only series I got into was perhaps Batman TAS and the Avatar show in the last year or so, I'm still out on Young Justice. But yea, I still find Mr. Roger's Neighborhood more entertaining than Hannah Montana. Overall. I think they have a fair cast that's learning how to act and improve each season.

Mindless kiddy show? How would you explain the millions of viewers who watch iCarly everyday and laugh their ass off when they hear some of iCarly's jokes? Just because a show is Rated G doesn't mean it's bad.
However, in today's culture of Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore, and Twilight, where every song on the radio, every program on television and every site on the internet is just another monument to the pinnacle of human stupidity, it's certainly not the worst thing that people could be watching.
What are your thoughts about this popular show?

It's essentially this decade's Saved by the Bell.
My wife likes the show, and I don't mind it.
