personally i think green arrow has a lot to offer the series this season. the previews after the episode looked awesome! i think they've done a really good job w/ olliver queen. green arrow is the man. now we just need to see the bruce wayne cameo.
I don't think she actually has one. Nice spoiler, btw.
Next Season is the last season. I get the impression that:
Lana will figure out Clark's secret by the end(possibly in the last episode) of this season. Lex will realize that she knows, and probably destroy their relationship and possibly her pregnancy trying to find out.
As much as I like the show, honestly, it is about time for it to be wrapped up.
I hope she doesn't have one. Or if she does, it's something small and passive. Her character doesn't need it, though I do like the story possibilities of Chloe dealing with her fear of ending up like all the other freaks. It also touches back on Chloe's issues with her asylum-bound mother (yay character continuity!).
And next year is Rosenbaum's last (according to him), which will probably end the show right there. But I think the CW will milk this cash cow until it's dry. Which sucks because some of the people on it should find work they deserve rather than stay attached to this show.
I was shocked, too. Especially since it was Chloe character continuity. First her sex with Jimmy from a few years back gets revisited, now this!? My head, it is spinning with shock. I guess they felt bad for all the kicking her they did throughout the show's run.
Although, no manner of continuity now will ever make up for her sharing the potatoes with Lionel Luther this Thanksgiving. Remember when their deal to expose Clark went sour and he tried to blow up Chloe and her dad? Yeah, we're the only ones. Oh, the healing power of Thanksgiving. Magical.
Yeah, it bothers me that everyone is so willingly buying into Lionel being a good guy. Especially Chloe, who has infinite reasons to distrust him and hate him, since he tried to have her killed on more than one occasion.
ok, so apparently i deleted my subscription to this thread cuz i thought it had died and wasn't coming back.
so far i'm loving this season. the JLA episode was awesome. i think they ended up doing a fantastic job w/ oliver queen and green arrow. the only thing i'm saddened about is the fact that the next new episode isn't until like mid march. the 15th i think.
i think that by the end of this season, lana will figure out clark's secret. they keep hinting at it. and i thought it was pretty funny when she told him that it wouldn't matter. and i know the wedding episode is coming up, but i just don't see lex and lana getting married. there's just something about it that doesn't seem right. i'm really curious as to how that's gonna play out. and what's w/ the baby? the doc said, "it's not your average pregnancy," or something like that in an earlier episode. does anyone know what that's about?
1) The baby is Clark's. (From when he "lost" his powers). The times don't EXACTLY match up, but it's a definite possibility.
2) Lex is experimenting with Meteor DNA/Exposure using his research on the meteor freaks.
Wedding
It's obvious that Lana does not want to marry Lex. 2 possible scenarios:
1) Lana calls off the wedding.
2) Clark shows up at the wedding and objects. Lana leaves Lex at the altar.
2b) It's rumored that Lana's Aunt Nel returns in an upcoming episode. She could also be the one that talks Lana out of it.
Clark's Secret
I'm not sure how they're going to go about that one. It's seemingly obvious that Lana is following it EXTREMELY close and that it's only a matter of time before she finds out. But I'm not sure what that would do for the story.
But along with Lana's interest comes Lex's too. Don't forget that the "pick" that Lex stabbed Clark with vanished from Lana's room. Lex is just as close as Lana is in finding out Clark's secret.
And I definitely think that we'll be seeing Oliver and the Justice League before this season's end.
I honestly can't wait for the season to resume. (That month break is BULL!). But I'll survive like I always.
And concerning the last episode: I think it was one of the best this season. Michael Rosenbaum (who plays Lex in the show ) directed it, and I think it shows some serious potential.

I don't think that the baby is Clarks, even if they do foreshadow this some with that episode where Clark & Lana find some kid in a field and raise him until he dies 2 days later from rapid aging. I'm pretty much positive that it is Lex's baby, and that it is meteor-infested somehow(there was some one-liner that alluded to this earlier this season).
I'm liking this season alot, so far. I lost interest a little over the last couple of years, but, this season has renewed that. It makes me sad that everyone hates Lex now. I feel like they made his relationship w/ Clark early in the series TOO strong, because now it seems unrealistic that they are enemies etc.

i think i actually like lex more now, than i did in the beginning. he's better as the 'bad guy.' and i think michael rosenbaum plays him perfectly. the fact that his relationship w/ clark was so strong in the earlier episodes makes his evilness now that much better.
I thought the way the Clark/Lex relationship was played up in Seasons 1 and 2 was TERRIBLE! Like it bugged me how Lex was always so shifty and Clark just looked past it all.
Honesly though, I think Rosenbaum is one of the best actors on the show. He actually "becomes" Lex.
And I really like the direction that the "enemies" angle is going this season.
Clark's finally realizing who he really is.
But for some reason, Lana isn't. I think they're playing her off as too "helpless" and "easily played" this season. Here's to hoping she DOES figure out Clark's secret.
They really need to start getting around to the ACTUAL super man story though because according to CW Producers, next season (the 7th) will be the last for Clark, Lana, and Lex.
Next week is confirmed to be the wedding episode and the trailer looks REALLY crazy.
I haven't seen more suspense in a season thus far. Promise looks like it's going to be amazing.
i meant to post on this last week after i watched the episode, but it slipped my mind.
number 1, a lot of crazy things happened in the episode.
lex kills a guy, lana figures out clarks secret, lionel threatens lana w/ clarks life, lana being forced to go through w/ a wedding that she doesn't want to.
and number 2, i thought the way they played it out w/ giving the day and time and then showing what happens and kind of having it all tie together at the end was awesome.
all in all, i thought this was a great episode. a lot took place and it made me look forward to seeing the next few weeks' episodes even more.
But they seem to be in a pickle since I never recall hearing that Lana knew Clark's secret. Then again, I don't read the comics. But still. It seems that too many people know. Time for a little Amnesia Dust ala Superman 2..

the only person that knows clark's secret that i don't agree w/ is lionel. i actually think that clark should've told lana during the 5th (?) season when they were seeing each other. but that's neither here nor there. the only good thing about lionel knowing clark's secret is he's a villain but not the villain. so he poses a threat by knowing, which gives the show a little drama to work w/.
Seeing as we've had NO comments about this season, I want to start it off by commenting on tonight's episode.
All this season, all I've seen out of the episodes is a pointless story and a recurring "soap opera" feel to every episodes. Not the Smallville that I've been following for 6 years.
But tonight finally made it all made sense.
The "phantom" taking Clark's place in every day life is just such a cool idea. Especially when we all forgot about him. (or at least I did).
This could have a huge effect on Clark's life and on Season 7!
What do you all have to say about it?

honestly i'm of the opinion that last season was better than this season is turning out to be. but, i'm still really digging this season.

i knew something was up when clark first "re-appeared." he didn't seem himself. but then he saved chloe which made it seem more like clark. and then we see him 'flash' when he's hugging lana and it all made sense.
i don't really like the whole "clone" idea. i think that's kind of lame, but it might turn out better than i think.
i'm really glad that chloe finally told jimmy her secret. he needed to know. i think they work really well together.
and finally i'm glad that lois and julian broke up. i've heard rumors that this may be the last season of smallville and if it ends w/ lois and clark not being a couple, i will be one upset superman fan. i really like the clark/lana relationship, but it's just not right.
i was a little disappointed that we didn't get to see how kara is doing in michigan. (that is where she ended up, right?) or was it atlanta? where ever she is. i'd like to know how she's making out there. *no pun intended*

I'm currently going through series 6 on DVD, and they've handled the Green Arrow story a lot better than I expected.
It's also given me an opportunity to revisit one of my favourite TV-based games: "Spot the ironic reference to something that happens in Superman". Whether it's a tacky pun about flying, or costumes, or Lana's future career at the Globe, or ANYTHING - they always find some way to put in an utterly cringeworthy reference in every single episode.
That's one of many Smallville-related drinking games. But don't try to play that game for a whole season, it might actually destroy your liver. And you'll probably need a lot of gin.
I haven't bothered watching this season. I don't really know why. There wasn't a big moment where I said to myself "This show is just too much, screw that." I think my fear that they'd finally killed off Chloe (pretty much the only character I was watching the show for) did it for me. Plus the show has become a superhero-themed soap opera ad there's only so much of one guy pining away for one chick I can take. (answer: six years. six looooooong years)
As far as this being the last season, it's been confirmed by the CW and both writers. Michael Rosenbaum, John Glover and Kristin Kreuk refused to sign on for any more seasons.
And what REALLY sucks is that because of the writers' strike going on, this season isn't "done" yet.
They've got 15 episodes written (a good 7 or 8 less than usual), the last of which ends on a supposed MAJOR cliffhanger. If the strike keeps up, Smallville (the season AND the series) ends in February, and will be left wide open to boot.
And if "Girls of Smallville" ever came out, let's just say that ALL Smallville fans would be happy :D.
@Mikey:
Yeah. You really didn't miss too much this season UNTIL last night. A lot of this season was bits and pieces of relationship ties, etc. (They actually had to start cutting episodes in half and adding in more bogus content because of the writers strike. They stretched 8 episodes into 15 :-/). But it looks like it's finally gonna somewhat start to finish the story.

Gabriel/Julian as a Clone leaves wide open for Rosenbaum to leave at the end of the Season. Lex fakes death, Julian comes forward as his brother with genetic proof...but with Lex taking the body over. Julian becomes the new Lex Luther with a clean slate next Season.
Lana was too close to Brainiac's last host. I get the impression she may be the current host. It leaves room for her to leave at end of season as well.
Clark replaced by Bizzaro is an odd twist, unexpected. Something seemed up with him for sure though.
