The founders of the company are in the photo.
Kensei is not in the photo.
We have no proof that Kensei is highlander.
We have much more proof that he is, instead, a regenerator like Clare.
Clare isn't going to live forever.
Either would Kensei.
Just because two powers appear the same doesn't mean they are the same. Peter and Sylar essentially have the same power...except the execution and origin are completely different. We know Claire can die because she's done so. We've never seen Kensei die and while that might seem like a forgone conclusion maybe its not. I happen to believe that Nathan and West are able to fly for different reasons. Sadly...I doubt we'll get into the particulars of how powers actually work or why they manifest in the way we do this season.
Not to mention that most regenerators in Comic lore do live for hundreds to thousands of years simply because their bodies keep regenerating the old cells. That's how Wolverine is over 200 years old at least. There are many futures where Wolverine is still alive too.
Actually, I don't think anyone has an idea of how old Wolverine really is... Except that he is very old. Also, Kensei living to the present is a logical thing, because Hiro's trip to Feudal Japan has to be connected to the rest of the story somehow.
And about powers, there are differences between West and Nathan (Nathan has that jet-like thingy when he uses his ability, almost as if he's jet propelled. West is more of a "normal" flyer. I'd say Nathan can fly faster but West is more agile in flight. Also, the last time we saw Clare get hit in a Vital organ (brain) she was dead until someone removed the wood carved in her brain. In this episode, we see Kensei geting stabbed in a vital organ and he doesn't even complain that much. Well, You can say the other guy missed the stab, but if he's a Samurai, he shouldn't miss.
Well, there I go wandering, sorry
They let out how old Wolverine is with the limited series 'Origins' He was born James Howlett to a wealthy family in Canada, during the 19th century. So he has a definite age. i have the trade paperback that explains everything really.

In Claire's case it wasn't A vital organ, it was THE vital organ: the brain, repository of consciousness. I don't see evidence that her power is different than Kensei's until either she gets stuck in her heart and 'die' until she can regenerate it, or Kensei gets hit in the brain and still fights on.
As for Kensei having to live to the present day for Hiro's story to have a link with the rest of the season, I don't see that as a necessity. It might be that what we're witnessing is actually the birth of the Company. Kensei gets to find others like him and start a secret society of empowered humans, which eventually ends up manipulating events in the world until the twelve found the Company (which would in fact just be an extension of that older organisation). Or we could be witnessing the birth of a rival organisation that we don't yet know about.
I know the picture of the twelve disproves Kensei as a villain but the possibility of Kensei living thru time manipulating events maybe even manipulating the twelve into joining. It just has such great implications & does so much to Hiro especially if he was the catalyst that wrought this change. Lots of story room there.
But I kno I am reaching now.
On the whole I enjoyed the almost everybody makes a dark choice. I like that Surresh actually choice the good path and didnt compromise himself that badly. Moving forward I really hope they get to a point where it is a group of the "good" heroes vs the company ie Kristen Bell's char., Adam Monroe, etc. It would feed my inner Xmen fan so much.
maybe kensi is the one taking the picture of the twelve and maybe kensi is adam monroe, sort of like a new identity:D

I am all for the writer's getting theirs but still losing the Origins make me sad.
Also it still boggles my mind how many people STILL think the show is moving slowly when last season I felt the show moved at half this pace.
Also it strikes me that while the Heroes ratings have can a dip in ratings by the traditional standards I can't imagine it was always top dog in its time slot last year considering it had Monday Night Football to deal with half the time, WWE Raw the whole season & of course the heavyweight 24. Its absurd to expect it to smash Mondays entirely.
I think there's a reason why Linderman had Kensei's katana. Could he have been...White Beard? I don't think we've seen the last of Malcolm McDowall. He didn't come into play until late last season, and Tim Kring has already agreed that they are trying to mirror last season as much as possible.
Me I don't think that Whitebeard is Linderman seeing he was more english than Japanes sir. Thats why I was thinking Kenshi was Linderman, but how it seems I was wrong which is sad on me.
As for next episode should be good and could be as good as when Hiro went to the future last season.

In any case, I also think that Kensei and Linderman are linked somehow. If they aren't the same person, they may even be father & son.
You know heres something to clear everything up, Linderman and Kensai ARE NOT THE SAME PERSON. Linderman was a young man during the Vietnam War. If you look young for thousands of years, your going to look young for a couple thousand more years, NOT grow old in a 47 year time span. Also, regeneration DOES NOT equal 'healing others' regeneration is 'Hay my pinky toe is cut off, let me grow it back dur dur!' Saying Linderman and Kensai are one is like last seasons 'Sylar and Peter are the same person!'

Well I was thinking the way I did, i am a bad man was with using a power to heal could cause aging for him. That was why I though Linderman was Kenshi, but I am over that now.
I for one never though Syler and Peter was the same, but they do have kind of the same powers. The only difference Peter don't got to kill people to take powers, like Syler.
I never really thought Sylar and Peter were the same person. Last season I speculated that in some wacky twist of time, Sylar could have been accidentally created by the faction that was trying to stop him, and that storyline idea may actually be more relevant in this season with Kensai.
Looking at those paintings again, there is one with Mohinder with a very angry look on his face, with a smoking gun. Given that the very next picture is H.R.G. with a bullet hole through his glasses, are we thinking the good doctor ends up popping a cap in Noah?
Sylar's power isn't taking other people's powers. Its figuring out how things work. He used the "figure stuff out" power to decode how to take other people's powers. That's why when Peter would meet someone and absorb their power he wasn't much good with it but Sylar would frequently be more accomplished with the ability than the person he took it from.

He uses it alot like Peter though. He is, to use a big word that I may most likely misspell, Peter's antithesis, his ying to his yang, you get the idea.

So Mr. white streak is white beard? I thought they've been keeping him secret for some huge reveal later on. I'm still hoping that Linderman makes some sort of return. I've always been a fan of Malcolm McDowall.
Peter/Sylar = yin/yang = Exactly what I was thinking!
Is there anyway we can just have Sylar eat the Mexican wonder douchebag twins? I think they're a huge waste of time.
Of note, The writers guild strike may possibly end this season early. In case you didn't know, the season was actually going to be split into two volumes originally.
The current volume , generations, was scheduled to end december 3rd.
The writers are considering slightly altering the end of this episode to make it a more appropriate season finale, as they would not want to start volume 3 but have it interrupted mid-way through.
I love Joboman, Poggy, Niv, and Vezok, because, while they may not be the best players, they still try to win. Having fun is the most important thing to a game, but I've learned that if you don't try to win, then you're ruining everyone else's fun.
That sounds bad, but might turn out ok. Me for one like Heroes and hope this stike gets stopped. The one good thing about this when the DVD set comes out we get an alternet ending that be a cool reason to buy it.
It's an add for the remainder of volume 2....and besides the usual bunch of stuff, it includes at the end an image of a clean cut normal dressing Kensei (clearly in the present or future) saying "We're going to change history"
Soooo relevance to the kensei storyline?

HOLY CURSEWORDS. This episode wasn't great but the last few minutes were fricking ridiculous.
Recap: Hiro comes back to the present and finds out that his daddums is gonesies. Good news is he stopped Whitebeard. Bad news is that Kensei isn't exactly as dead as he thought.
But like we thought, Kensei is Adam. Apparently, according to the previews, Adam was a cellmate of Peter after the bomb went off.
Maury is incapacitated and that's cool cuz it means maybe Parkman will have more control of his powers and be less of a bore.
I have to rethink what happened in the first 30 minutes cuz after the ending I got really excited and had to calm myself down.
I may or may not have been drinking...
Awesome. Hopefully this season picks up from this point.
