If this is another Loose Change (which worries me, as they quoted it in the 9/11 part), then I'll be pissed I took the time to watch the whole damn thing.
Zeitgeist is a truly scary film. I watched it a couple months ago.

They made a few mistakes. There's no mention of December 25th in The Bible at any point, for example. The normal story that I've heard is that Dec 25 was an existing holiday that early Christians could celebrate upon without being persecuted.
That's what I got from reading the transcript for Part One. I'll keep watching, though.

My anecdotal evidence disagrees with yours! EXPLAIN THAT!

It was the feast of Jupiter, and also the birth date of Mithra I do believe. They incorporated the two. I also want to say it had something to do with the Eluesian Mysteries, but I can't really think of anything specific at the moment.
They also listed Odin as a Sun Deity comparable to Jesus, which is a very shallow comparison.
Just got to the part with Loose Change craziness. Doesn't really hold up so well, and it loses a lot of credibility with that. Plus the general small factual errors accrued in the film (like above.)

Just keep watching. The third part is much more interesting.
So here I am... thinking "Wow I really don't appreciate this two minutes of space BS"
Then later I'm thinking "Wow, this filler is going on for four minutes now..."
Then there's many disgusting images of dead people. But I have no idea where these pictures are from, so I am angry at the attempt on my emotions...
AND THEN! In the sixth minute of the video, finally, he speaks!
At 6:18, the narrator drops the God word. His credibility drops severely in my ears, but nonetheless he is capable of providing evidence for his claims so I continue listening.
Nice quotation from Gerald Massey... and some laughs from a favorite comedian of mine...
So then we follow along part 1, another unnamed speaker makes some claims which seem reasonable and I don't have trouble believing.
At 11:55, a claim is made that I'd never heard before. No justification is given for it. I have chosen to suspend watching the rest of the video.
What is this about "God's Sun" - where can I find some writing about "God's sun"?

I think this movie is one of the greatest parodies ever created. It so lovingly recreates the paranoid conspiracy theory "documentary" style, and takes it to brand new levels by somehow trying to combine three completely different conspiracies into one, with ludicrous results. It uses every trick in the book and makes you so shellshocked that you don't immediately realize that IT MAKES NO ****ING SENSE. (which is, if you ask me, the whole point.)
I found the first part kind of interesting but they lost me on the 9/11 conspiracy ****. This has been gone over and over. I voted for option 3 but I wanted to vote between that and load of crap. I'm not going to bother finishing it.
This is a propaganda film. Obviously the movie has some truth to it, but you would be amazed how easy you can stretch facts to make them say whatever you want them to say. This film, like everything else, needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
There's noone more deaf than the one who don't wanna listen
There's none more blind than those that take everything they see as fact. I watched it in it's entirety, heard what they had to say, then I decided that it was all a bunch of crap. Except the religion part, which was somewhat correct. Coincidently, that had nothing to do with anything else.
You know what scares me more than this? The fact that there is some people that think that this is a load of crap. Those people just don't want to hear what is not being said by media.
This is media. How does it suddenly not become prone to poor factual information, biases, and every other failing of the modern media just by virtue of sounding good? Try actually looking at more than one source for information, THEN determine if this is a load of crap or not. It's not all completely false, but more often than not I would put my money on it being completely devoid of factual content and any ties to reality.

The fact that scared me was the TRUE part of the video, that is to say the part about 9/11.
Please. 9/11 was not a conspiracy. Don't think for one minute that the Bush administration is intellectually capable of such a thing, not to mention really any other American presidential administration in history.
The only interesting parts are the first and third parts. The middle lost all of its respect from me when it directly quoted Loose Change.

The Bush administration is barely capable of orchestrating a successful meeting with foreign diplomats, let alone creating an event as powerful as 9/11 to simply use it as a vehicle to start a war in Iraq/Afghanistan to topple dictators and fight terror, apparently to secure oil for the US, etc etc.
The movie itself lost a tremendous amount of respect from me as well when it directly quoted Loose Change, tsk.
It's a third 9/11 conspiracy video. There's three main sections, only one of which deals with 9/11.

That's what they want you to think.
.... no, seriously. Well, I don't mean that claim, seriously; I mean, you should ask yourself: What evidence, would it take, to really make you ponder whether a government administration was hoodwinking us, in some deep conspiratorial sense?
There has to be something that would give you pause (since I'm assuming you're a reasonable person who has adopted a fallibilist approach to knowledge)
Anyway, what are people talking about when they say the "religion" part was true/false?

The film is largely worthless. There is not a single original idea presented. (Much of it is actually lifted from other films.) If you're interested in what was said in part 1, see The God Who Wasn't There; if you want to see Part 2, watch Loose Change; and if you liked the bit about the money supply, check out America: Freedom to Fascism.
Like the films it plagiarizes, it presents an abominable amount of falsehoods, non sequitur arguments, and general asshattery.

If this is another 9/11 conspiracy video, just stop believing it's true. It's a huge insult to the people who died on that day and their families.
You know that Journey song "Don't Stop Beliving"? They weren't talking about this.
