I guess Soraka is ok if your ADC is bad or only wants to just farm. I like to go hard even on bot, so I prefer a more aggressive support. Just being ahead in farm on bot isn't often enough; getting kills while farming makes gaining Elo so much easier.
She's still bad vs. a ganking jungler. It's so much easier to kill a Soraka bot lane as jungler.

I will buy that. The big reason I was making that point about solo q though, is that you can't necessarily rely on your carry to be aggressive, and I've gotten hung out to dry too many times as a result.
As for the ganking jungler, perhaps. I don't tend to die that often in my games, but I may just be overly cautious.

She carried me to 1500 from 1365 so I'm not sure where the cliff is so to speak.
Edit: Best game ever just now. I end up with vayne in champ select (normal). I pick soroka, at which point she says no, pick a support with a stun. I'm leery of this because generally vayne isn't a great adc for trading in lane so I felt that soroka would be a more approriate pick. She's unhappy, but goes with it. We get into lane and the first thing she does is tumble to attack the lane opponent. It's a draven with a lulu supporting him. She comes back to me at 100 hp. I'm already getting sick to the stomach, but I heal her, and she promptly tumbles to auto lulu. She promptly dies and gives up first blood. Draven tower dives me seconds later and picks up second blood. Vayne is now screaming at me that it's my fault for not choosing a support with a stun. I tell her she shouldn't be trading with draven as a vayne, that she should just focus on farming and beat him late game. We go back to lane, and I end up getting caught by draven and die again. The entire rest of the game she is screaming at me and our yi (building dunks) that we're both worthless and don't know how to play. I end the game 0/6/6, yi ends it 5/4/4, vayne ends it 2/6/2.
Vayne tries to scream me down in post game as well, but draven steps in and the first thing he says: "Vayne, why the heck did you try to fight me lvl 1. You gave up first blood, still tried to fight me, and that lost you the game. Nothing soroka could have done."

"[Screw] you and the green you ramped in on." - My EDH battle cry. If I had one. Which I don't.
Jungler's the same, even worse I think. Last night I had a game as Amumu where all three lanes were losing. I ganked repeatedly in two of them and managed to get top ahead in kills and mid even (despite mid especially being bad and dying every time I wasn't near), but it wasn't enough as bot was feeding too hard meanwhile. Guess who gets the blame...
Seriously, as jungler every losing lane is your fault. The worst are those that are non-stop pushing, never warding, and screaming for ganks every ten seconds. Then they obviously get ganked, and invariably they go "their jungler here 8 times, our jungler one fail gank. worst jungler ever" etc.
You really just need to embrace the rage. I keep a small colony of hamsters next to my computer and every time I lose a match to mana screw I throw one against the wall.
Nah, the worst lane is top lane. You can take a little extra harassment by accident, be forced to recall, and then literally never recover on your own. Only your jungler intervening can stop the snowball.

What a time
Any traditional carry trying to fight draven lv 1 in a 1v1 should get reported for unskilled player. Seriously his early damage is super ridiculous there is no way for anyone to match it.
GLJ- Worse lane is jungle, I've had the lanes be 0/7 BY TIME I'VE FINISHED FIRST CLEAR and they blame me.
I've been 2-0-1 by the 5 min mark and the lane I camped complains I never ganked by the 10 min mark.
I've camped and give fb for the lane just for it to snowball; in the opposite direction.
I've counterjungled to the point their jungler is half my level (3 to my 6) and the lanes complain I'm not doing my job.
I've had teams that didn't give me a leash or strong leash and then complain I didn't gank early WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT DUE TO THE POOR LEASH I CAN'T GANK EARLY AT THE 2 MIN MARK.
I've sat there and stole 3 barons in one game only dying once in situations of me literally sniping baron from their entire team and getting out. AND WE STILL LOSE BECAUSE 900 GOLD AND 3 BUFFS TO EVERY CHAMPION ISN'T ENOUGH FOR THE LANES TO NOT SUCK.
I've had lanes that complain I gank badly when they fail to initiate with their stuns when I ask them to.
Jungler gets blamed by every single lane that fails, and jungler is a role with quite a few decisions and factors. Junglers in solo-que need to know buff objectives, the route of enemy junglers, their own capabilities and the capabilies of every other champ in the game to a T just to know how to gank. I know every lane has its differculties but after playing this game for over a year I stand by my statement overall jungler is the hardest role. You get blamed the most and in order to be a good jungler you need to know how to ward right, how to and when to contest objective, what is favorable to gank, etc.
Oh, reasons why the other lanes are hard imo:
Top- swingiest lane in the game, also if drag is up and the other team can safely drag you are likely on your own because your jungler will lose drag if he shows his face top.
Mid- Fairly easy to gank for most junglers, safely campable even if other team could drag, needs to know when backing will **** up the other lanes or a drag.
Bot- Duo lane so you have a partner, which can be frustrating in soloque if miscommunications. Weakest early so although harder to gank getting gank ****ing hurts. Losing bot is akin to losing dragon.
Nah, the worst lane is top lane. You can take a little extra harassment by accident, be forced to recall, and then literally never recover on your own. Only your jungler intervening can stop the snowball.
"last another ten minutes, I'm farming wraiths!"
That's the reason I prefer top. I'm not good at skillshot fights 1v1 in LoL and mid gets camped pretty easily, jungle can't do anything with a team that won't prepare for it, and I hate soloq'ing with idiots bottom lane as either roll. Top lets me 1v1 a guy with occasional interference, which is what I'm usually better at.

So been giving Kayle a go at TT as of late. Come to the conclusion with a Black Cleaver she is absolutely brutal on that map. Her armor shred dominates other bruisers while her splash on her E gives her strong team fight ability with how close people get in the jungle.
So far I'm 4/1 with her and that 1 game loss was a result of me being the only person on the team that did damage as by Shyvana and Mord decided they needed to build tank >.<
Think I'm gonna take her into ranked with my 3s team soon.
I just had a really terrible dominion Teemo rage at me when I tried to explain that on hit effects don't work as well as AD+crit for damage. I don't get why people still build Teemo with on hit abilities. He does crap for damage when you build him with on hit effects and he's not even tanky when you build him that way.

IDK about that I've seen Teemos with Malady/Madreds/Frozen Mallet/Witz End/GA be both tanky and do pretty good damage at the same time. Personally from what I've seen between AD+Crit teemo and on hit, on hit seems to do far better damage.

On hit effect weapons are traps for AD carries.
That's an incredibly expensive build. IE + PD does more damage than the entire on hit cycle combined. Crit damage increases exponentially while on hit damage increases linearly.
Additionally, in order to put a respectable amount of damage with on hit effects you need to keep auto attacking. Your single hit pokes are going to be very weak compared to AD+Crit. A single critical hit will out damage on hit effects.

The problem is that Teemo isn't a carry. He can't sit there and poke with on-hit items, he needs the tankyness and slow from frozen heart to be effective. Granted, that's still not as effective as AP Teemo is now, since the buff to his E lets him front load the damage from it into something respectable.
I love Latin chant in songs and they did it so well with this one.
EDIT--And on an rather infuriating note, a number of people in the group I play with, myself included, keep having issues with spells not casting. On multiple occasions in my last game as Tryn my ult, heal and spin failed to go off inspite of me hitting the buttons 3-4 times before I died. Anyone else experiencing this?
Top lane is also not always very easy to gank. Being so far from dragon really makes it hard for me to focus on it without letting other important things slip. I try to help my toplane a lot, but I can't let mid lose (because roaming mids make every lane lose) or bot lose (because I don't want to lose lategame in earlygame). On top of that, dragon needs plenty of attention in laning phase. So sorry to all of the top laners of the world, I really try. It just doesn't work out all the time. It's not you or me, it's just how the cookie crumbles.
This is why when I jungle I often lvl 2 gank top, and feed our top laner first blood. After that as long as it's not a complete counter pick top lane should be able to snowball from their as long as they properly ward.
EDIT--REALLY getting sick and tired of people who pick ADCs like Vayne on Twisted Treeline. For crying out loud it's an early game map that is going to have a ton of strong early game bruisers running around, wtf would you pick some of the weakest early game champs in the game. I can live with Ezreal/Corki/Graves and even a few like MF and Draven who all have strong early games and respectable end games but stop picking ones that make the game 3v2 until 25 minutes in...GAMES DON'T NORMALLY LAST THAT LONG!!!! /endrant.

Ad/crit teemo is an exceptionally bad conventional ranged carry. Probably worse at this role than almost every single champion in lol. Hell, I'd take ad heimer over ad teemo any day, he has more slow, better poke and an aoe stun. On-hit teemo, however, is a ranged bruiser with additional map control.
Yeah, bruiser teemo has probably a weaker late game than bruisers like Irelia..still more useful than an ad dps build.
